Guiding Light Alert
At the close of Fridays episode a black Gloved hand was closing in from behind on Marah (Lindsey McKeon ). She is one of the Prettiest females on any of the soaps (IMHO)& she had a handcuff scene & the character was kidnapped before (when played by a much less hot actress).

Heads up for Feb. 05
Just posted to the DB about the film "Pretty When You Cry" which has a nude spreadeagle sex scene, and it's a WIDE spreadeagle, too. Best thing since Cat People, but like Cat People, kinda underlit.

Showing on Thriller Max on Feb. 5 if anyone is interested.

I'll tell ya, the energy for bondage scenes in mainstream movies lately is high lately. Be interesting to see how TV works out in the February sweeps.

Unfortunately that is true, Damn! Damn! Damn!!! However, there is another scene where she gets kidnapped by a pimp and one of the scenes is of her in a red teddy tied sitting on a bed.

And it is possible that Jen and Jack will get in a jam in the current stuff looking for the murderer of Colin. One can only hope (no, not Hope, hope! [inside joke])

Heck, I still have the game on CD for PC (Win95)! However, that game was the most gawdawful tripe, and though I'm reasonably certain that there was probably at least one scene in the game of interest to us, it was also such a horrible game that I didn't even come close to having enough patience to get that far into the game to find out for certain. It was produced by Digital Pictures whose website http://www.digipix.com no longer exists (big surprise, eh?)

You must be thinking of the prior week. In the show
mentioned, no such continuity problems were evident.
She quite clearly had her hands behind her back the
whole time, and you could see them tied during the
rescue scene.

This is likely to be the typical soap teaser where the guy grabbing her is actually her boyfriend, who'll tell her to quit snooping around. Hope I'm wrong.

Can anyone identify this pelicula?
There was an nice little scene on the Telemundo movie early this morning... I missed the opening (and they didn't identify the movie at the commercial breaks), but it started around 1:30AM in L.A. If someone can name that flick I'll give a description of the scene so it can be added to the db.

WHERE'S DA BONDAGE?
Do you really think any man in his 20's or above watches sows like Buffy,Fastlane.Charmed,etc., for the plot lines? NO. Maybe teenagers really enjoy these shows, but lets be honest, people like us what did action. I mean Tiffany Thiessen abd Rose McGowan are just BEGGING I say BEGGING for tight cleve gags. When will these writers come to thier senses?

Still, they usually shoot promo pictures for videos after the fact and it was pretty cool that they gagged the actress for a shot (a bonus, if you will).

The vast majority of the public could care less if there was no B&G scene in the film.

I would disagree on that. I think most renters would be infuriated if they rented that movie to see a scene and nothing was in there.

"Kangaroo Jack"
Someone had to do it so I went to the movie "Kangaroo Jack." Estella Warren does get her hands tied behind her back for a short time, and there are a couple quick shots from behind showing her tied wrists.
Also, in a three second scene, another actress is shown tied with her hands behind her in a chair and gagged with tape that goes all the way around her head. She does manage to get off a quick "mmph" or two.
The movie is definitely aimed for kids.

I know that I would definitely be furious if I rented a movie (such as Mamimum Breakout) because there is a picture of a bound and gagged woman on the box cover, but there is no such scene in the film. If they know that images of bound and gagged women sell, then why don't they just put it in the movie?!?

Perhaps when bondage comes completely "out of the closet." It still has not completely done so (although it is much better than it was years ago.) I think that the vast majority of men are turned on by women in bondage. We are just the only ones who are willing to admit it and talk about it.

Soaps bust
Nothing on the two soap possibilities on Monday.

Blair was attacked by the intruder on "One Life to Live" and was pushed around in some revealing sleepwear before good guys saved the day.

Title: Special Unit 2
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Sarah Mutch, Cobie Smulders

Description: Episode: "The Wish" (2.13)

In the last fifteen minutes, the genie waits for Nick O'Malley in his girlfriend Zoey's (Smulders) apartment. Zoey also wears a lovely cleave gag and has her hands tied to the chair arms. Lots of action and closeups as the genie and Nick battle.

Devious Beings
I watched "Devious Beings" last night; it is a feckless imitation of "pulp Fiction", but there is a good bondage scene that occurs during the final twenty minuctes of the movie.
The damsel in distres is Heather McComb, and she is kidnapped and bound and gagged by a drug dealer. She is tied to a chair and cleave-gagged with a red cloth. There are several scenes in which she appears bound and gagged. The plot of this movie is insipid, but this scene might make it worth watching.

In reference to the references on the alerts page for today: unless my post-Vietnam hallucinations are kicking in again, I believe I spotted a close-up of a pair of tightly bound hands in a promo for the new Dragnet. Couldn't tell the gender, nor was it clear whether the image was from the first episode. Just thought I'd share, apologies if it's a red herring.

Come on. God forbid a show should make an attempt at advancing a plot or a story (okay, fastlane is a poor example). As a writer, I take serios offense to asking when we will come to our senses. Catering to your bondage interests is not the focus of these shows. There are plenty of videos out there that do just this, so see one of them. Stop blaming the writers! And by the way. who are you to say who watches these shows and why. Remember, your opinion is just that, yours. it does not apply to everyone.

Yeah, I'm getting optimistic about Alias. It's clearly heading into that shark-jumping zone known as 'attract male viewers'. Last night had JG in two lingerie getups, next week preview featured her in a bikini--seems like bondage is a natural next step.

In case anyone was still wondering, the "Dragnet" movie on A.M.C. starting at 6:05 Eastern time/3:05 from my outlet on the Left Coast is the one that featured Thordis Brandt in the opening scenes. Better still, she appears to be in all her glory in an UNcut scene. A true treat!!

As a fellow writer, I back you up one hundred percent. It's as I've already said a half dozen times. Think YOU can do better? Then get the hell out there and do better already.

This is my biggest problem. No matter what is given, there is a general sense of absolute ingratitude on the part of certain people. If they don't get a scene, it's "how dare they not give us a scene!". If they do get a scene, it's "that scene stunk!" The very people who complain about these things rarely, if ever, contribute a blasted thing beyond the complaints. Anybody can be an armchair writer/director. Try doing the job itself sometime.

And by the way.

The following is not directed at the writer of the above post specifically. I am talking about the movie and TV industry in general.

The writing is the most crucial part of the creative process. You can't turn a bad script into a good show. Unfortunately, many TV shows and movies start filming before the script is even completed! Everything starts with the writing.

It is my personal opinion that most movies and TV shows are lousy these days. It is not just the careless writing. It is also the deadly dull acting, intrusive directing and the "creative" decisions that are made by network executives that contribute to the low quality. As a result I do not watch much television and I simply don't go to movies anymore. Most of the time that I have the TV on, I am either recording a bondage scene or keeping an eye on a show that has bondage potential.

If you want people to tune in or buy tickets, there are two things you can do. You can give people a good story (with good writing, good acting, good directing and the absence of network executives making creative decisions.) If you can't (or won't) do that, there is another option. You can give people something that turns them on.

Men are turned on by women in bondage. Most men. Not just "us." If you want viewers, it really is very simple. Give us bound and gagged women!

Re: rejected post
> It just did it again!

I think I know what happened. While trimming the quoted portion, I accidentally deleted the ">" symbol at the beginning of the first line. This may have caused the program to "think" that it was not a quote. The ">" symbol was then present on the next line, so technically a line WITHOUT a ">" came before a line WITH a ">", therefore it was "read" as having no-quoted material before quoted material. Once I realized this, I replaced the ">" symbol at the beginning and it worked. Is anyone else following this?

What you're talking about rarely, if ever, happens. There's almost always A complete draft of a script. That's how movies and shows are sold.

Again...you know this how? Did you hire out a telephone research place to do a survey for you? Do you have statistics to back up a thing you've said?

It seems to me that the statement that most viewers don't give it a thought one way or another is a lot truer than what you've put forward here.

It also seems to me that there's plenty of bound and gagged women in movies and TV, but you refuse to be satisfied with that. It's a gimme gimme gimme mentality that you're putting forward. Be glad for what you get.

To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw: If you're not happy with what you've got, go out and get or make something you'll be happy with.

While I agree that "Charmed" (which I had *such* high hopes for when it first aired) & "Fastlane" (which I've *never* had anything even approaching hope for) are rather charmless & pedestrian... I must object: "Buffy???"

"BVS" is one of the most consistently WELL WRITTEN series in the history of TV. I know it's a matter of taste, but GEESH! Film Schools could teach screenwriting & production classes using nothing but "BVS" episodes as source material. Could it have more bondage? Yes... but then I'd like to see EVERYTHING have more bondage (of course.) Anyhoo... a *bad* episode of "Buffy" is still good television. A *GOOD* episode of "Buffy" is... TIMELESS. (...& that's why when they do *anything* approaching bondage on "BVS"... we go *NUTS*!)

Sorry Mr. Moderator... I just had to say it.

I think that most renters would be at least somewhat dismayed to find that there is no bondage scene in this movie corresponding to the sexually enticing image on the package.
The company that markets the video knows that the image of a bound and gagged and beautiful young woman will induce people, especially guys, to rent the movie.

I don't have statistics in front of me, but that was what I learned in a class I took. And it makes sense.

This has nothing to do with what I or someone else thinks is "enough." This is a matter of marketing. If you want to sell something to people, give them what they want, even if they already have a lot of it.

Todd, what are you getting so defensive for? You are putting bound and gagged women in your videos, and you are wise to do so.

Dragnet 1969
Did anyone else get this on AMC today? It was uncut, not edited to hell, the quality was crystal clear and not faded and old. The lighting was also clearer, didn't have dark blurriness that old shows usually have.

Dragnet
I don't think the alert for Dragnet is correct...last time I checked, I thought the series premiered on a Sunday (being 6 days from now).

Yeah, they announced it as starring Dan Akroyd and Tom Hanks on the commercial tho. For a moment I thought there was a mistake in the TV Guide.

For those who missed it, my guide says it repeats at 1:45 a.m. Tues morning (i.e., in about five hours).

Re: WHERE'S DA BONDAGE?
Like Siskel and Ebert said a few years back, the questio shouldn't be 'how come so many bad movies get made?', but rather given the quality of directors and writers 'how any good movies get made at all?'.

BTW
When was the law passed forcing anyone to become a movie writer?

Until you can prove that you were some how forced against your will to be a screenwriter, quit your bitchin when people complain about the quality of your work !!!!

There are those of us here who were legally forced to do things we didn't want to do.

We don't need a bunch of whiners doing what they want to do and then getting all pissy when their customers say they are doing a rotten job.

Sorry for the rant Brian, but these entertainment types acting like we should kiss their ass really piss me off.

I think we had better end this thread or the Moderator will end it for us. It is getting "divisive." I have no desire to "divide our ranks." I was just about to post another message about this, but I axed it. What else can we discuss tonight?

There have been several national survey indicationg that interest in sexual bondage is commonplace. The Glamour one and a couple of others. A year or so ago I cited several such surveys I found easily via Google searches.

I expect most people's interest in mainstream bondage scenes is kinda casual, but it's probably there at some level. I suspect that it's one of those factors that pumps up interest in shows without intruding on viewers' conscious minds.

If you don't think bondage scenes interest people, why do you think it's so common for bondage imagery to be used in marketing films and TV shows? Even misleadingly used, as in "Maximum Breakout"?

Well, I think the valuable function this page might serve for some is a place to vent when you're disappointed with a mainstream scene, or the absence of one. Where else would you go to voice such concerns and expect to find people who'd understand what you were talking about?

Good job predicting that nothing would happen. When I saw your post yesterday, i said "I hope he is wrong, but he probably isn't." IMO, this particular plot routine is getting a little old.

{Sigh} You're probably right. What else to discuss...?

Okay:
Who is the *ULTIMATE* one-that-got-away?
AUDREY HEPBURN ...or... JULIE ANDREWS?
Discuss. :-)

HEPBURN. Definitely Audrey Hepburn. Beauty, grace, style poise, strength, humor. Everything that made Diana Rigg/Emma Peel an ultimate DiD.

Though I couldn't see AH karate-chopping Alan Arkin in Wait Until Dark. :-))

Of the two of them, I would pick Audrey Hepburn. How did you come up with those two choices, Van? Neither of them has been bound at all, or just not gagged?

You are definately on to something, Pat. I think that many people have an interest in mainstream bondage at some level. For some, the interest is in the action and suspense. For others, the interest is more than that, and for some, a whole lot more than that. How the numbers concerning the level of interest break down, I do not know. However, I suspect that the group including those whose interest is more than or a lot more than the action and suspense may be larger that some have imagined.

Kudos to Jay L.
I just checked out the Alerts page. As usual, our friend Jay L. has done great work for all of our friends north of the U.S. border, with an extensive array of postings. On occasion, Jay is able to help us with a U.S. alert. I may never get to take advantage of one of his alerts, but whether I do or not, I have to say that I am extremely impressed with Jay's effort and dedication. We appreciate it when you can help us, and I know our Canadian friends appreciate your great work. Way to go1

To all other alerts posters, keep up your very good work as well!

You forgot that Hepburn did get bound. Got to the buzzsaw for 1963 year-end issue of Life! Check it out!!!
