Faith the Vampire Slayer?
Haven't seen anyone comment on this possibility, reported by E's Watch with Kristin:

"Word is that Sarah Michelle Gellar has pretty much decided not to sign on for another season, so Joss Whedon and Co. are heavily weighing spinoff possibilities--and Faith the Vampire Slayer appears to be the front-runner. There's just one issue, though: Does Eliza want to do it? "

Van, Van, thy glass is half-empty! Remember that an "urban Tarzan" of sorts was the theme of the movie "Wild Things" -- and this yielded a scene! (Database entry 303.) Remember there is a strong correlation between "action/adventure show" and "likelihood of DiD scenes." Remember there is often a strong inverse relation between "quality of show" and "likelihood of DiD scenes." The portents are favorable. I think this is worth watching for. Let's just hope it won't be too good a show (viz,BUFFY).

Before VCRs I used to go to a movie with a 35mm camera and shoot from a deserted balcony... I actually got some GREAT shots that way, including [most memorably] from "The Collector." !!!

Now lizten to this. The gorgeuois Ms. smulders, who had excellent scene(tight cleve)

TERRI HATCHER/NANCY EVERHARD
Let's see now. This could have been an all-time great scene: two cute babes bound back to back, wearing dresses,pantyhose, stockinged legs tied as well. What was missing? TIGHT CLEVE GAGS! If only, would have been one of the best scenes ever!!

ERIN GREY
If you ever watch the scene with Ms. Erin b/g on Fall Guy, you will notice her nipple is protruding through her blouse. Do you think being bound and gagged,and maybe knowing millions of people were watching was turning her on? Ever wonder if other actresses can't contain thier exctiement when doing a scene? Anyone have similiar instances?

Probably because it would really stretch credibility. The real-time format seems like both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because scenes are likely to run across several episodes. It's a curse because, while the standard format could plausibly have Kim kidnapped a few times per season, in 24 this would mean she gets grabbed every day the writers decide to show us. There hasn't been a damsel that unlucky since Penelope Pitstop.

The good news is that the writers are hardly averse to working bondage into the storyline, as evidenced by the hands-behind scenes with three different damsels in one hour a few episodes back. I'd say the season still has potential, though we already know from Cuthbert's comments that it won't be with Kim (unless the L.A. cops have developed some seriously kinky protocols while we weren't looking).

Yowza!
Well, "Angel" certainly seems to be heating up appropriately for a sweeps month. For those who missed last night's episode, Cordelia has promised Angelus her body in exchange for information that would help the team save the world from the Beast. She thinks she's safe, since it turns out that he doesn't know anything useful -- but Angelus has somehow obtained Angel's soul as leverage, and he intends to collect. Now he's pacing around spouting (paraphrased) lines like, "The more you piss me off, the longer I'll keep you alive" and "I bet she's a screamer."

In an ideal world, this could obviously lead to some splended scenes. Which of course means that it won't -- but I'd set those VCRs just in case.

Just using my browser, which is IE6.

And, just for fun, I tried to "force" it to happen-- by deleting the ">" at the beginning, leaving a blank space... and sure enough, it told me I was "top-posting".

I don't see why she wouldn't. It' not like she's even close to being a film star and the BTVS series has proven to be a winner.

I'll hate to see SMG go, but maybe it's time for some fresh blood, so to speak...

{Sigh} You're right about the pessimistic attitude, but I've always wanted to see Tarzan done *right.* It needs to be classic E.R.Burroughs, set in "Darkest Africa" in the mid 19th Century. It has to have an Epic Scale (like Jackson's LOTR) with Mass Attacks of Tribal Warriors, gorgeous Natural Wonder-grade scenery, menacing animals that turn out to be semi-intelligent Noble Savages, Lost City of Opar scenic ruins, the cool tree house; & Jane needs to run around *trying* to preserve her Victorian modesty & reserve, but letting her mask (& the tattered remnants of her bush costume) slip now & then. ...& most of all... Tarzan needs to be LORD GREYSTOKE! The only reason we have the whole "Ugh--Me Tarzan, you Jane" thing is because Weismeuller couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, so they decided to "solve the problem" by making Tarzan an inarticulate shaved ape. I guess we should feel lucky he wasn't up for the role of Sherlock Holmes.

Anyhoo... these days productions hold a self-congratulatory news conference if they decide *NOT* to use the New York standing set on whatever lot they're shooting on.

So... who would you guys cast as Jane? ...assumin, of course, that in the first T-movie she'd be captured by a Hostile Tribe & would be on the verge of being tortured to death... (Ungowa! Attack!) ...when Tarzan & his animal friends would thunder to the rescue... &... in the 2nd T-movie the Grand Finale would involve the almost scarifice of Jane on a stone altar in the Lost City of Opar.

My choices: Gwyneth Paltrow, Anna Friel, & a real dark horse... Honeysuckle Weeks! :-)

Tawny Kitaen was bound and gagged twice in the movie "The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of Yik Yak", the first time with a cleave gag, the second time with a tape gag. She was bound with rope the first time, and shackled the second time.
Reese Witherspoon was bound and gagged twice in "Best Laid Plans", the first time with a black cloth tied over her mouth, the second time with duct tape over her mouth. She was chained to a pool table the first time, and tied to a chair the second time.
A Latina guest actress, whose name I don't recall, was bound and gagged twice on the defunct series "Cobra".

Natalia Cigliuti from the film Simon Sez. She was bound in the back seat of a car with a potato stuffed in her mouth and held in place with a black cloth. Later she was nicely chair tied and gagged with a yellow bandana cleave gag.

The holy grail of all holy grails to me is the scene on Wiseguy where 80's pop singer Martika gets gagged with duct tape wrapped around her mouth on screen. The guy wraps her mouth like half a dozen times on screen and the gag looks damn tight. That girl isn't saying anything at all with that gag over her mouth. I just wish someone would post that scene somewhere. It's a scene that is so good and I don't think I've ever seen it posted anywhere!!!

Missed the beginning of this thread, but when I saw a road company production, Aldonza is grabbed by a bunch of goons who gag her and hold her down to rape her. The gag is, or ought to be, essential to the scene because it goes on while Don Quixote, who is nearby, is singing about her beauty and probably virginity. Big ironic contrast stuff. In the version I saw she was not tied--it would have slowed down the scene.

However, IIRC, she was not gagged in the movie, so alternative stagings are possible.

She is not tied but an untied sash is put around her arms to pull her. I think that she is gagged maybe ten minutes but that is purely an estimate.

Re: TERRI HATCHER/NANCY EVERHARD

There was a soap scene about a year and a half ago with a great white cloth stuffing and very thick white cloth cleave over it. The Angel scene with a white cloth cleave (Parting Gifts) was about a year and a half ago. Other than those two I don't think there is a single other instance of white cloth cleave or OTM white cloth in the last two years (maybe I'm missing one).

Can it really be because men don't carry hankies anymore? It's almost getting to the point where it will look funny, or dated, if anyone uses it ever again... and that's really a bummer IMHO.

Actually, most handkerchiefs are far too small to use as gags. Most are not large enough to encircle the head of the damsel about to be gagged. Even if a handkerchief can encircle the head of a damsel, then a few more inches are necessary in order to tie a secure knot.
Most cleave and over-the-mouth gags are cloths or towels, not handkerchiefs. Duct tape is used often because it is ubiquitous, and easily applied over the damsel's mouth.

Fortunately, this is a not-infrequent occurrence from a kidnapping (some Evil captors realize it's not a good idea for the DiD to be able to scream her head off).

* The Collector: Eggar gagged in the van after being chloroformed, then again in THE scene in the bathroom;

* Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down: Abril tape-gagged on the bed, then Banderas kindly buys a her a more comfortable brand of tape to re-gag her with;

* Hunter ("The Legion-Part 2"): Kramer tape-gagged & cuffed to a bed, then later to a rooftop railing;

* The Rookies ("Time is the Fire"): Marta re-gagged in the abandoned room by the airport, seen gagged in a theater, in a phone booth, and then in the power plant;

* Bracken's World ("Fallen, Fallen is Babylon"): Cooper probably holds the record for most onscreen re-gaggings in a single episode. And because this aired before VCRs, a "Holy Grail" for me.

If it is about ten minutes, then we're probably getting a "good deal." I never saw the play, but I think the "rape" section of the soundtrack is only two or three minutes long.

Couldn't you have transfered the pictures that I e-mailed to you into another folder or something? I can't give you a link to where those pictures are located on the web because I got them from a vidcap site and I don't remember which one it is. You can't post pictures here from a hard drive. Elisha Cuthbert said in an interview that her character Kim was not going to be kidnapped again. But is it possible that she thinks "kidnap" is different than held captive or even left tied to a tree? I'm hoping that when the trapper comes along and sees what he's caught, he decides she's a keeper, which would necessitate her being fully restrained.

Or here's a simple thought: maybe he could've just put them on a lousy cheap little floppy disk and stash it away somewhere? I gotta say, considering that this kid's been "rattling his brain" on this topic for five years, the final results of all that brain-wracking are less than impressive. "Hey, here's my personal holy grail! I'd better delete it without a second thought. Heck, if I want them again later, I'll just post lots of annoying messages on Brian's Page until someone makes it all better."

And you know what's really amusing/irksome about this? Whenever he views an image from a website, that image IS downloaded onto his PC and stored as a file anyway, so if he's so paranoid about anyone finding them secreted away in some hidden folder, then his whole "just point me to a website" attitude is pretty damned self-defeating.

Hadji, your kidding, right? Anyway, this is the discussion page, and I really hope this is interesting to some, and not annoying, but it seems important to me in an historical way that a detail so traditional to the genre, so sexy too, seems to be dying out because it's... what? Old fashioned? Not realistic anymore? Urrgh! Forget it, I'm going to start a rumor that duct tape glue (even with paper towel backing, yeah, that's what they do on set, I've seen it) is really bad for the skin... I hope they ban the stuff.

What, you couldn't have saved them off to a floppy, a CD or a zip disk? You couldn't have hidden them in an innocuous-lookng folder with innocuous filenames? I mean, you got sent the pics and you threw them away. I couldn't blame people for deciding it was kinda your problem, not theirs.
