Saturday March 08 00:39:53 2003 Question on General Hospital scene |
I have one question about the scene below (#65 in the database). Did this scene air in 1982 or 1983? I was under the inpression that it was 1982, but I want to be sure. Thanks.
Record number: 65 Title: General Hospital Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Demi Moore, Janine Turner, & Sharon Wyatt Description: During several episodes taking place aboard a cruise ship the threesome end up tied to chairs and tightly gagged with cloth strips tied between their teeth. There is much struggling and moaning. |

Saturday March 08 01:09:13 2003 Questions concerning another GH scene |
Record number: 66
Title: General Hospital Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Emma Samms, Sherilyn Wolter Description: (1983 scene) Lured by a fake phone call she ends up tied up in the back room of a dress shop. Gagged tightly with a cloth gag in her mouth. Another actress is tied and gagged along with her later as the episode progresses. Later the cloth gag is tied over Emma's mouth. ____________________________________________________________ I have several questions concerning the above scene. IIRC, each lady Holly Scorpio (Samms) and Celia Quartermain (Wolter) received a ruse phone call that the other was in trouble which lured her to the dress shop. There, Wolter and, possibly Samms as well, are first chlorformed. Finally each are shown bound and gagged while they are unconscious. All are part of the scene may have aired twice becuase i know part of the scne was shown as a flashback, but I believe part of the scene was not a flashback. In addition, IIRC, there are several additional scenes connected to this storyline that are not in the database. First, Wolter's charcter is shown bound to the back of an elephant and OTM? gagged with white cloth when she is rescued by WSB agent Robert Scorpio. Second, Samms is shown bound and cleave gagged with black cloth while she is moved by her captors. (The guy who plays Luke shares a similar perdicament) In addition, during another flashback scene, Samms and Wolter are shown in what appers to be traditional middle eastern dress (including covered faces). While no bonds or gags are actually shown, the scene implies they are in fact B&G'd because they are mmphing, and it appears that their hans are forced behind their backs. |

Saturday March 08 05:50:20 2003 Busy Actresses without a good DiD scene |
> There are a lot of beautiful, talented, & *busy* actresses who NEVER get a good DiD-scene. It happens.
--------- One of my biggest letdowns was that ageless beauty Jaclyn Smith never received a B&g scene. While British "Queen of the MiniSeries" Jane Seymour had a nice B&g scene in Memories of Midnight, Jaclyn has had only a few lame, brief ties. This despite her being the American "Queen of the MiniSeries", playing a PI during the entire TV run of Charlie's Angels, and playing a lawyer in Christine Cromwell. |

Another affirmative, though the thought of the drop in image quality saddens me. After all, with a bit more of an investment, you can make a nice digital copy with a computer or DVD recorder. There's no digital output on the TiVo since the entertainment industry is paranoid, so you do have to go digital->analog->digital unless you're willing to resort to extreme hacking measures -- but I don't know many people who are capable of telling the difference with broadcast-quality NTSC video. (I certainly can't.) |

No on the caps, currently...but I'll be happy to confirm or dispel this rumor next time I hit the video store, unless someone beats me to it. > > Leelee Sobieski's scene was a disappointment because of
> > the stupid Saran Wrap gag. > > I never thought that was saran wrap. It looks more like > clear tape to me. Nah...far too crinkly. From my clip of Ms. Sobieski's commentary: "That looks like it's Scotch tape, but it's not. It's this really strong Saran Wrap, so it actually doesn't hurt...because you'll see they, they'll make the tape go around my mouth, and, um, normally that would pull out all my hair when it gets ripped off, but it doesn't...and, you know, in between takes, I could stretch it out with my chin and it would fall loose...on occasion it would actually fall loose, so I could actually talk, so when I go, 'Mmmmm, mmm mmm!' like that, I can, uh, actually speak, I'm just faking it, because I'm a good actress, ha ha ha ha." BTW, it's probably a more endearing explanation when she delivers it with that ironic New York tone of hers than when you read it in print. :) In any case, while those who dis the scene on the grounds that this is one seriously ineffective OTM gag have a legitimate point, I still dig it. |

Who can forget the scene with Gabrielle tied up with clay being slathered all over her body by cannibals with a large diameter kazoo stuck in her mouth? When the show was still in production, some of us used to call that time period the "good old days." In retrospect, I believe it was the "good old days." |

Ah, Wings Hauser. I just recently clipped his scene in The Art of Dying, where he's trying to rescue Kathleen Kinmont. I truly found myself wondering how the guy finds work. Nightmare scenario: "Charlene's Angels! Wings Hauser, Michael Dudikoff, and David Hasselhoff. They're Detectives!" Okay...no real bondage content, so I'll shut up now. |

Saturday March 08 14:39:01 2003 Dead Zone question |
In last week's Dead Zone--the one many of you perhaps avoided because of the extended putz scene--Tracy Gold is led away in handcuffs at the beginning. She turns so the camera gets a full rear view, and at first it doesn't look like there are any cuffs there--she seems to be just holding her hands together, maybe thinking the camera is aimed higher. But then I look a little closer in freeze frame and there *might* be a thin white line around her wrist, suggesting plastic cuffs. Trouble is, on my cable system USA comes in looking like it bounced off the ionosphere three times and then off a couple of garbage cans before it gets to me. Did anybody see or tape this on a system with good picture quality, and were there cuffs or not? |

Saturday March 08 14:44:46 2003 Pirate Islands |
Long-term heads up: Fox just launched a Saturday morning live-action show called "Pirate Islands," in which three siblings are zapped into a video game. Once that's set up it seems to be pretty standard pirate stuff, a bit like Danger Island. One could hope for many chases, captures, escapes, yadda yadda. The lead actress, who I'll assume is playing younger than her real age, is a doll.
The show is from Australia, so might have been shown in the UK. Has anyone already seen it? |

You are right about the lenght of the storyline. IIRC, it ran for several months in the fall of 1983 (approx Sept to Nov, I think). I am going to see what I can to to fix up the entry and possibly add some new ones. I really appreciate your help. BTW, do you know if the Demi Moore-Janine Turner-Sharon Wyatt scene aired in 1982 or 1983? |

In dvd-rw, when i transfer one scene, isn't that it for the dvd? or is it like a tape where i can transfer five minutes and then do 10 minutes a week later picking up where i left off on the blank dvd? or do i have to delete what i already have on it to record on the blank dvd again? sorry for the questions, but i want to know what i can do before i shell out the big bucks to go modern tech. |

Saturday March 08 17:59:48 2003 Adventure Inc. pops with straightjacket scene |
Adventure Inc. pops with a scene that involves straightjackets, suspension and a watery doom.
About 25 minutes in the female rgular is kidnapped from a mental institution along with the guy who's hiding out there by the bad guys. She's given a knockout shot and when next she's sccen, she's being hustled along in a straightjacket along with him. Then they're chianed to a railing via chains attached to their straightjackets. Then her straightjacket chain is hung on a hook and she's dangled over a water tank in an attempt to get info out of the guy. Finally, the bad guy decides he doesn't need the info and she's plunged into the water tank to her doom, but she's rescued. Scene ends at the 5:45 mark. No gags. Check your local listings for times, as the show is syndicated. |

I found a description of it at http://www.teleimages.com:591/tim3/FMPro?-db=tim.fp3&-format=tim%5fdet.htm&-lay=teleimages&-sortfield=seriestitle&Seriestitle=pirate%20islands&-max=130&-recid=32974&-find= (I know that's one hell of a URL, but that's what actually came up) I have my doubts on any DiD scenes, because of this description: "With the help of the handsome Mars, she acquires invaluable skills that allow her to move effortlessly around the game; soon she is able to walk across water, fight like a ninja, and hang in mid air." Being that this series takes place inside a computer game, I think it'll be more action than adventure oriented, at least if they're making some effort to follow computer game conventions. But, you never know. After all, Captain N and the Game Masters (I'm really revealing what generation I'm part of here, that I used to actually watch that cheesy cartoon) had quite a few DiD scenes, despite being about a bunch of game characters and their earth-based companion. |

I happened to catch the "Teen Angels" episode of Charlie's Angels on TV Land the other morning and was surprised to see Jackie's hands tied behind her back - I'd never seen the episode before.
