Tuesday April 01 01:07:58 2003 "Fear Factor" Next Week |
The previews (for 4/7) at the end of Monday's "Fear Factor" on NBC show an attractive blonde chained to a large piece of plexiglass underwater and struggling like crazy.
At first glance it appears to be a spreadeagle because both feet are chained seperately and one wrist is also chained so I assumed that she'd already freed one wrist. HOWEVER, I think the more likely scenario is that three limbs are chained and the keys are fastened to her free hand. On close inspection it appears that she's struggling to make a key fit the manacle on her wrist. Either way we get a blonde and probably at least one more female contestant in chains next week on "Fear Factor". |

Tuesday April 01 03:03:28 2003 VERITAS?? |
What is the deal with this show? For the umpteenth time, ABC has pre-empted the show to show war coverage. I'm as patriotic as anyone else, but how much more can they tell us. Tonight's supposed episode was going to have the team searching for the holy grail. Was just thinking of the possibilites that maybe the gorgeous Colbie Smulders was gonna get captured by one of the baddies and put into a b/g predicament. I guess we should'nt plan on getting an episode next Monday either. Will ABC ever show these episodes that were pre-empted? |

Prime example to my mind is the 1970s version of "The Thirty-nine Steps". No DiD scene in the book, but Karen Dotrice gets a chloro grab, an unconscious semi-suspension with odious villain pawing her face, and finally a very tight, clingy OTM gag which she works for all she's worth. Indignant close-ups, mmmphing and laboured breathing, too. Shame about the putz. |

What I've noticed about Fear Factor is that they are increasingly using "stunts" that look more like DiD scenes than anything else. In the previous week, they had the Miss USA contestants in skimpy bikinis, suspended upside down by their ankles, holding onto big weights and holding their breath for as long as they could while suspended upside down under water, before releasing the weights and rising to the surface. This week they had the best DiD scenario: couples competing, with the wife trapped in an underwater plexiglass cage which the husband must free her from before her breath runs out. The funniest part was one of the guys got winded while working on releasing his wife, so he came up for air LEAVING HER UNDERWATER IN THE PLEXIGLASS CAGE! She didn't make it, had to be rescued by the divers, and she gave him hell for abandoning her down there. Y'know, a reality show in which husbands and wives have to rescue each other from DiD scenarios COULD be a lot of fun. |

Tuesday April 01 11:31:22 2003 Brady Bunch and Alice the maid... bandage wrapped |
I just viewed the scene of Alice the maid, bandage wrapped by Jan Brady. It occured to me that this is a good example of a very plain looking woman transorming into a fairly good looking woman by the addition of bondage.
I don't know if we ever coined a term for this effect but might I suggest the " PURCELL SYNDROME". ( in honor of Sarah). Also, getting back to the Brady scene; the database for this page states that later on in the same episode Marcia Brady is heard stating that Jan did the same to her but also put a piece of tape over her mouth. Did this really happen in the episode or was someone embelifhing the facts. |

Tuesday April 01 18:04:35 2003 OLTL partial update |
I only watched the first few minutes of OLTL today, so I can't say for sure that Lindsey doesn't get some form of treatment, but it looks unlikely. They show Mitch chloroforming her again, from a slightly different angle. At that point, the only packing he uses is for the muffler, as he plans on staging a fake carbon monoxide suicide while Lindsey's out cold in a parked car in a parking garage. I don't know what happened after that, but odds aren't good for a scene out of this scenario.

Tuesday April 01 18:06:43 2003 Flared Eyes |
If you look at the clip on Anubis' site from It Takes a Thief, "The Radomir Miniature", you will notice that the damsels eyes flare after the villian leaves her in the car. To me, this seems to be an indication of utter helplessness and usually comes right after the damsel tests her bonds and gag. I've seen it before, but would be interested to know if I am interpreting it correctly. What other films, TV shows, etc. has this emotion been evident on a damsel? |

Tuesday April 01 18:14:58 2003 Re: Unexpected bondage |
I was a teenager back in an era when we got like four channels via an antenna and VCRs cost $800+ so we didn't have one. There was this local babe... she did the weather at first and then got her own local half-hour news magazine-type show. Well, one night she had a magician on the show and right out of the blue she came out with her hands chained in front. She "escaped" in seconds so it was obviously not the real deal... but I was young and she was hot and it was a person that I never expected to see in that sort of position. So it was a major thrill that came and went in the space of about five seconds and was gone forever... but I still remember it. :) |

Tuesday April 01 19:03:10 2003 "Hollywood Plain" |

------------ Well, I think those who enjoyed watching Sarah Purcell's previous roles as "Real People" co-host and the TV reporter in the Charlie's Angels "Marathon Angels" episode would hardly term her as plain. And I found her "Terror Among Us" character to be especially appealing: A (pre-Age Discrimination in Employment Act) stewardess having some self-esteem issues because she's hit the age of (gasp!) 30, yet who still looked pretty good going without a bra (after Shackleford stole it). Of course, as noted in the April 2003 issue of FHM magazine (USA edition), "Blame your disillusionment on filmmakers who cast smoking hotties as even the mousiest outcasts. Those seeking proof need only to look at the TV show "Angel", where the bookish demon-buster Winifred "Fred" Burkle is played by the devilishly gorgeous Amy Acker." And as I noted on one of my previous posts, I've enjoyed seeing these "Hollywood Plains" appearing in bondage as much or more as the "glamour girl". Such as finally seeing Alyson Hannigan in BTVS "Normal Again". Remember, we were supposed to believe that none of Sunnydale High's testosterone-charged males "noticed" Willow, until Oz came along. Yeah, right. |

Tuesday April 01 19:09:49 2003 Reality TV scenes |
Hey, does anyone know if or when reality tv shows like survivor or fear factor repeat their episodes? Did anyone manage to catch either the scene on survivor where they were tied hands behind back as an activity or the fear factor scene with the underwater weights? Can someone try and catch the fear factor next week for us? Thanks, |

In most cases, the only local programming comes from news shows, which obviously practically never have a b&g scene. I can only recall one local "comedy" show from my hometown, but it did have a short b&g scene which I never caught. But I still remember that one, too! |
