Monday March 10 00:49:04 2003 Batcave question |
Were there any scenes in the "Return of the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt" that aired on CBS Sunday night? I caught the last five to ten minutes and saw Adam and Burt amateurishly bound to a rocket of some sort, but I was wondering if the earlier flashbacks described in the TV guide write-ups produced anything of actual interest. |

> Were there any scenes in the "Return of the Batcave: The

One of my favorite bindees, whom I hope will see some more action this season on "Angel", Amy Acker, played Burt Ward's first wife. And I have to say will someone PLEASE cast Adam's daughter Nina West in a series! That girl is gorgeous and just made for tying up. By the way, Nina played Burt's knife weilding one night stand. One other note of trivia, one of the executive producers of "Return To The Batcave" was database dweller, Dawn Wells. |

Good question, and I don't know the answer, having not yet played with DVD-RW myself. But I bet you can find the answer here, or at least some good hints on where to look. |

But I bet you can find > the answer here, or at least some good hints on where to look. It doesn't matter whether you use DVD-RW or DVD-R. You can record one scene, then come back later and add more onto it. Each recording you make on the disc is an independent track. The only difference between -RW and -R is the number of times you can write tracks onto the disc. One disadvantage I've found of disc as opposed tape is with disc the laser will sometimes skip over a track if its' too short in length. Kind of sucks when you have to use a couple of minutes recording time for a scene that lasts 10 seconds. However, the benefits of increased storage life, the ability to create indexes and skip directly to a scene(track), and the ease of storing discs far outweigh the negatives IMO. Hope this answered your question. |

I believe that clip is from a short run TV series called "Hardball" that ran only for a year on NBC. I believe it was in the early to mid 80's when it aired. Detective Taggart starred in it with I believe Richard Tyson as his partner. I have been looking for images of that episode for years. Anubis, you're the man!! |

I didn't see the movie but I thought the exact same thing last year when she was interviewed on Adam West's biography on A&E. Simply stunning. At a minimum, she should get some small roles if she's pursuing an acting career. Let's hope so. |

Monday March 10 15:04:56 2003 Can anyone help me ? |
Hello
does someone know the following scenes and the pertinent film? I have already tried imdb with various searchqueries, but without success. Film data so far I can remember: Category = adventure (no Trash), color, approx. between 1975 - 1985, original were probably English, i saw the movie approximately before 10-15 years. Plot so far I remember: 2-3 men and a woman are for any reason in the desert (supposed the Middle East). They are stopped in the desert by a car with some men (they describe themselves as police or military, but are in truth robbers, (without guarantee)). They threaten the men and the woman with weapons, tied them on screen, hands on the back or in front (possibly also gagged and everything probably with scarves) and they must enter into their jeep. Then an odyssey begins through the desert. The prisoners are bound the whole time. They arrive sometime at a cave. The woman and one of the kidnapper make friends themselves with the time. In the cave the two converge and he release her from her ties . They talk a little and as they were kissing, he holds her hands over her head (first unnoticed by her) and bind them again. Her resists were rather moderately. Afterwards she is possibly also again gagged. As said, the kidnapped ones are most of the time bound. Their bindings can be seen often clearly and looked also quite genuine. In addition it comes that they are tied and gagged several times on screen. The woman had dark/black hair. I can't say anything about the actors, but however I think they were not completely unknown. Would be grateful over each info. Shelly |

Per, thanks to you too for posting the DB entry - sorry I didn't get back to your last message on Sunday but it was late here last night when I posted mine, and I've not been able to get back online again until just now. I guess we all owe Chris P one for pointing out the original omission. |

Monday March 10 15:37:15 2003 Joy Ride alternate endings |
Checking in as promised on this topic...ah, it's all coming back. I actually *did* make at least a quick pass through the four alternate endings when I first rented the DVD in order to clip it, but there was little enough noteworthy material that I decided to give it a miss.
The bad news is that, of the four alternate endings, only one differs substantially from the release version in terms of what we see of Ms. Sobieski. Yes, the original ending does show her restrained AOH with leather cuffs in the back of the bad guy's truck, as suggested earlier. However: * The scene lasts only 16 seconds across three shots. * There are no close-ups, and Sobieski is partially obscured by beams or out of frame for most of the time that we do see her (as are her bonds). * No gag. The cap below is literally about the best one I could choose. While I have great respect for John Dahl, he really missed an opportunity with this one. (Random speculation: perhaps Sobieski, as implied in her commentary, was already poking fun at him at this point for having females tied up in most of his movies, and he didn't want to give her any more additional ammo than necessary?) The good news, at least for some of us, is that the "storyboard alternate ending" does include storyboard drawings of Sobieski's plight. I've created a page of caps at the link below. |

When you say "knockout shot", do you mean an injection? Do you see her lose consciousness? |

When I watched the DVD, I remember thinking that it was interesting that the storyboards indicated that they had planned, in advance, to use the Saran Wrap/packing/whatever stuff to gag her-- that it wasn't some off-the-wall inspiration. |
