I take it nothing happened with Jill last night? The hand gag must have been really weak if nobody even commented on it. I forgot to set my VCR, so I was just wondering what transpired.

GH, scene cutting and the "regag"
I always find it interesting to notice how many times an actress has been "re-Gagged" (or for that matter re-bound) during a movie or scene.

This is probably linked to my personal love of on-screen gagging. Im guessing it appeals to my gag-snobby ness but never the less....

During GH it was obvious that during mondays episode, the actress had been "regagged" at least three times during the shooting. not shown on screen, but still obvious for those of us that are looking for that kind of thing. evident by the tightness, placement, folds, etc.

So now Im wondering....first, is anyone in the same boat wheere they find it amusing or enjoyable to see if there has been "re-gagging" and second, can anyone give a educated guess on the most re-gagging done during one of our scenes, or series of scenes (as is the case in soaps)

which was the most obvious, the most funny or just silly attempt at re-gagging?

I remember an old British movie, "Cat and Mouse", in which the heroine was repeatedly gagged OTM with a plaid patterned scarf, which not only moved up and down her face, but somehow managed to turn completely upside down overnight!

This was also the only example I know of a damsel tied to a rocking chair, which absorbed all her struggles.

A "Perils of Pauline"-style TV serial set to the music of Elvis, IIRC. The very attractive damsel was Jill Whitlow, and the scene ocurred aboard a train. Cleave gag. D'oh!

If you long to see Jill Whitlow gagged with an OTM gag, then you're in luck. She did appear in a movie in which she was gagged with an OTM gag, but was not bound; her hands were restrained by a guy sitting on a sofa with her. I don't recall the name of the movie, but its plot concerned new kids in an upscale neighborhood who find they aren't compatible with the spoiled rich kids who already live there.

Charlie's Angels "Marathon Angels" episode w/ Betty Jean Samuelson's & Jeri Lea Ray's gags "changing" from Cleave to OTM to Cleave.

Enter the Ninja (1981), with Susan George's gag "changing" from OTM to Cleave to In-between.

This one was particularly amusing. I remember Carl McGuire in his Bound For Hollywood column making some fun of this. He showed pictures of the 3 different styles (as described above), and accompanied them with a commentary as though it were a fashion show and she was a model changing costumes.
What I liked about this scene was that George looked great in all 3 "styles".

I always like to think that the OTM becomes a cleave by simply being too tight.

It's been about 12 years since Cyndy's last B&G scene in Katts and Dog. Has any other actress had such a long timespan between gags?

That's not the case in this scene. From the looks of it they had to do multiple takes and it was just moved back a couple of times, at least that's what it looks like. Ah, there's nothing like continuity...

VH1 add with bound girl ...anyone seen this?
This was a promo for some type of series of shows this week, but I saw an ad for VH1 shows on VH1 this weekend with a girl lying face down on the floor struggling with her hand which are tied behind her. Im sure her feet are tied, but I cant be sure she is hogtied....was too quick to know. She had at least one piece of white tape over her mouth, but a quick closeup makes me think it was two or more.

Great struggling and mmmphing.

A recap of the add at the end even had a small triangle of her taped mouth among a collage of other images of shows this week.

It was so damn fast, and I was so mesmerized by the quality of the bondage, that I could not think straight.

My god, its Tuesday, and I thought this forum would be buzzing a little about it.

Has no one seen this?

Could be the reality show recap that was mentioned last week, but it doesn't sound like it from that description. Since I've got a long wait until Celtics-Pacers at 9:30, I'll record VH1 for a while and look at it later to see if it pops up.

On the same bizarre note, I was flipping through the channels last night around 2:30, and when I passed Lifetime, a gorgeous blond was getting OTM gagged. This was one of those times when you click the channels so fast one by one, pass it, and have to backtrack. When I clicked back, it was an infomercial for lipstick and the scene was over. The host placed the OTM over the model's lips to prove the lipstick doesn't smear (it didn't, what a product). This was in the first 10 minutes of a 30-minute commercial and they cut back to the same model a couple other times and she did other tests, including biting down on the same cloth several times in another test. It'll likely show up again tonight around the same time.

Totally ridiculous stuff, of course, but the model was terrific with her facial expressions and eye movements during the tests. Pretty cute scene. There was a second model with her (a redhead) doing the same tests. I didn't see her get the OTM but she likely did.

Yes, it had something to do with a reality show recap.

Does this mean VH1 is recapping all reality shows now, or are they recapping thier own? Is it one show, or a series of shows? All things I am wondering about, but I am here at work.

I find it odd that they could air Sarah Kozer's tape. Unless of course they paid to air it. I hope others have more info on this...looked like a great scene.

It's a recap of all the reality shows, but there hasn't been any gags in any of the other shows that I've read about. Again, likely a dirty trick for shock value on the promos. But I guess it's working. Plus, it's old news. That broke more than a month ago and the show in question is long been over.

I think the most egreigious example was Cybill Shepherd in the famous "Taming of the Shrew" episode of Moonlighting, where the gag grew progressively loose as the scene progressed, until it was sagging along her cheeks like a suspension bridge.

Was the gag actually tied behind her head to keep it in place, or did she just get a cloth to bite on?

I missed about the first 10 minutes of today's episode, but from what I saw there was no bondage on GENERAL HOSPITAL today. "Courtney" (Alicia Leigh Willis) is no longer tied up. "Faith" (Cyndy Preston) was not shown so I have no idea if she is still a captive or if she is still tied up.

The same thing happened to her in the 'Yellow Rose' TV series where her gag went from cleave to OTM.

I only saw the final second. It looked like the host held the OTM over the model's mouth, and pressed back to make sure the lips touched the cloth. It was not tied, but it was long and wide.

Just saw the VH1 promo. It is the reality show that was talked about last week. There's nothing new (it was Sarah).

Lisa Rinna's OTM scene in "Days of Our Lives" is a classic. There must have been four or five obvious changes to the gag over the couple of days.

underrated scenes
A short while back, someone asked about first rate scenes that were never talked about... scenes that were "underrated" by our group. Well, today one is being shown on TV... It's the older movie "This Gun For Hire." It had a blonde, big time actress - in her prime - and the scene lasted for minutes. A decent gag, secure ropework - even having chest ropes - what more could anyone want??? If this scene was released today, we'd be buzzing about it for weeks! If anyone's never seen it, don't miss it!!!

For me the re-gagging depends on the situation. On the one hand, seeing the damsel gagged several slightly different ways in the same scene is pretty nice. However, re-gagging can damage the realism and credibility of the scene. On balance, I am OK with it as long as the scene's realism is not substantially undermined. For example, a gag changing from a cloth cleave to a tape or ball gag (or vice versa) would not work for me becuase the DID realism would be undermined. However, a gag moving from cloth OTM to a cleave or semi-cleave seems theoretically possible, and would not undermine the credibility of the scene and be just fine with me. A gag going from cleave to OTM I am not sure about. I don't know how realistic because it would be.

In terms of re-gaggings, I understand that Anabella Sciora had quite a few in her scene in Whispers In The Dark. IIRC, I think that you can see that the gag changes a little over the course of the scene.

I think one of the most ridiculous cases of someone being asleep at the wheel in the matter of gag continuity has to be the movie "Expose", where Daneen Boone's gag actually changes from a cloth cleave to a tape gag & back!

Damsels freeing themselves?
A thought I've been having recently. How many of you like it when a damsel, with difficulty of course, frees herself?

For me, that's a real positive for many reasons. First off, it emphasizes the danger (or at least difficulty) the damsel is in, because of her obvious need to get free, and the fact that it is a struggle for her to do so.

Second off, I don't care much for passive victims (at least not all the time) for story reasons. I like characters who actually do something, unless there is nothing they can do at all. But I think the damsel should at least try to escape, unless her captor is standing right there, or some other obvious reason why she wouldn't.

It also can mean that the threat hasn't ended yet. For example, someone tied up in a criminal's headquarters could get free of her ropes, but then she has to escape the building. So the tension and drama are still there.

Also, attempts to escape sometimes result in nice close-ups of the bound wrists, close-ups which are used to build drama.

Finally, for me, there's just a certain something in seeing a damsel finally slip off her ropes, or pull down her gag. It's a reminder of the danger she was in, and her resilience for being able to get through it all.

What do you guys think?

I also like stalk and capture scenes for similar reasons. An escape attempt offers the opportunity for re-capture. Many commercial bondage films do a lousy job with these dramatic and interesting scenes, or they leave them out all together.

An already secured damsel, who just lays there and rolls around without trying to escape has minimal interest for me.

I really like it because it generally means writhing. And writhing is very, very good. But the dramatic elements are also nice. One of the best is "Intensity." Lengthy scene, very tough, resourceful damsel who finally succeeds.

NYPD Blue
A quick scene near the end, a waitress (pretty sure it was Kellie Waymire) is grabbed in her apartment by a psycho stalker. As the cops burst in, she's seen stripped to her underwear, unconcious, taped to a chair and gagged with duct tape. It's difficult to see much until one of the female cops begins peeling the tape off her mouth.

So I believe that would officially end the drought and be the first female gagged on this show in its nine-year run. Pretty amazing they've never had a scene before, especially fast ones with guest stars like tonight's.
