No, can't say I have Tape'. Occasionally I'll see or read an interview where an actress discusses or complains about a tie up scene, but I've never contacted one to ask her myself. Chances are, most would treat such a letter as something sent by a weirdo, unless you worded it just right and didn't come off sounding like a wanker who gets off on bondage :) |

There was a web site a while back where a guy claimed to have had an interchange with one of the actresses on Acupulco HEAT about her scenes. She seemed impressed by how much he noticed. I suppose a more pleasant interview than 'what was it like to be on what may have been the worst show ever?' | Apparently someone HAS mentioned that one subject near and dear to our hearts to at least one of our heroines-and more than once. Consider if you will the following newspaper-interview quote from none other than Yvonne Craig, who, before putting in an appearance at a comic-book convention a few years back, offered the following in reference to her famous Batgirl-tied-up-by-Eartha Kitt's-cat-whiskers scene:
"There's this small but strange group of fans who I think must be into bondage, because they are very, very interested in that. They keep saying, 'What were the cat's whiskers like? Well, how did you feel when you were tied up? What were they made of?'" Hmmm...sound familiar to anyone here? |

| I thought I'd weigh in on the PotC "issue."
Somebody noted there's PotC storyboard-type art attached to the *Tuck Everlasting* DVD of a B&G'd female kidnap victim being rowed away in a boat by pirates. Someone else noted that storyboard things sometimes *don't* make it to screen. Youz guys know I'm *ever* the optimist. My glass is always half *full* of B&G'd damsels. In this case, I think optimism is appropriate! Disney has an Official Web Site up & running... http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/index.html ...and on it they have the usual photos & conceptual art. (Before eveyone roars off to look for the B&G'd damsel image... it ain't there... yet.) I've seen the trailer twice, & I gotta tell you... almost every storyboard image is shown, exactly as drawn. I think they *know* the look they want & how to achieve it. This is *CLASSIC* pirate movie/swashbuckler cinema: flashy sword fights, executions interrupted by rescues, over-the-top costumes & effects... even snappy dialogue in the middle of fight scenes. The damsel (Keira Knightly) is feisty & *VERY* easy on the eyes. Curiously, the web site has ZERO photos of Kiera... yet. Maybe the *Tuck Everlasting* stuff & more photos will be posted soon. I have great hopes for PotC, as a fun movie *&* for at least one good DiD-scene. (However, I've seen *Cutthroat Island*. It had promise too.) |

Cameron Diaz. She's been tied up in The Mask, Being John Malkovich, Head Above Water, and as a willing kidnap victim in A Life Less Ordinary. I'd simply point out that she's been in 4 movies in which she's been more or less a "damsel in distress", including one in which she was a willing one, and ask if she specifically chose those roles for a reason. After all, it could be more than coincidence that she's been tied up in so many movies. |

I think the best thing to do would be simply to be honest, friendly and even humorous. Also, it is perfectly within my rights to send such a letter to an actress if I wanted. There is nothing illegal about sending such a letter. It is not threatening and it is not harrassment. It would be no different from sending a nude picture of an actress to her and asking her to autograph it. I think a large part of the problem is that bondage is still not completely out of the closet. The people in our "group" tend to be very concerned about "normal people" finding out about our "interest." I say it is time to let people know that we like women in bondage! If they don't understand it, then we need to explain it to them. I have no idea who would and who would not respond to such a letter. However, I think a lot more actresses would understand what it's all about than you might think. |

If it turns out to be the case, the Moderator has warned that any discussion if it will be deleted. The only way to find out is watch Reality Wrap-up Friday. |
