According to a review in Friday's USA Today, in an upcoming episode the daughter will be abducted by a possessed car. Guess there might be some seat belt type bondage in that one. This show is a comedy/horror sitcom so it definitely shoud be monitored. |

Monday March 31 06:17:47 2003 Why Gag |
>Why
Strange reason: old movie "DUNE", a witch was gagged because she can free herself with magic words. In "Melrose Place" a woman was gagged before electro treatment in a mental hospital. This gag will prevent her from biting her own tongue & to ensure open airway to her lung. In a Korean TV Movie (based on true story), a female North Korean spy / terrorist was gagged to prevent her from commiting suicide by swallowing poison pill. On "Simon Sez", Simon ask his partner: "Why Potato Gag?". His partner: "I try grapes, but she keep eating the gag!" |

Monday March 31 11:08:33 2003 unexpected bondage |
Here's a question I don't remember being discussed on this page before: What was the most unexpected bondage you ever saw on a television show? You're watching TV, there's absolutely no reason to expect a bondage scene, and then all of the sudden - JACKPOT - and you're running for the VCR. |

"Hart to Hart." -- So it's 20 years ago (sigh) and a friend of mine and I are playing a computer game. The TV's on the background and I look up and see the villain headed for Stefanie Powers (almost said Kramer) with the gag. In a matter of 45 seconds, I manage to kick the friend to the curb, switch off the TV so the parents won't catch on and head for the backup (unfortunately B&W) TV. That's a Beat the Clock event if I ever heard of one. I still remember Stefanie turning her head one way, then the other, then finding that knife and cutting herself loose. Excellent closeups. |

The trailer is only a few seconds of sound effects and copy, with only about a half second, if that, of images. Cast looks good though, but I've seen good casts and sucky movies before. |

Monday March 31 14:52:50 2003 Re: Charmed |
> How was Rose knocked out? Thanks
It was magic, a la "The 10th Kingdom." Damn magic...always getting in the way of a good chloro scene. Speaking of this scene, I was just about to start clipping it -- if only due to Rose's dress, because the bondage was lame beyond words -- when I noticed that there's another damsel before Rose's scene. She's unconscious, with wrists bound in the same manner as Rose's, but with ankles tied (unlike Rose's). Does anyone who's watched the whole show know who she is, or if I would be well-advised to look harder for a capture scene? |

You're watching TV, > there's absolutely no reason to expect a bondage scene, > and then all of the sudden - JACKPOT - and you're running > for the VCR. without a doubt, the Ainsley HArriott show, where I walk in to my linchroom at work, and two female employees are watching the show, seeing Florence Henderson and Ainsley making some forgetful dish, and the camera pans over and I see the vivacious Jodi Applegate and the "other" female co-host, tied up and chewing the scenery, as well as their cleave gags....I played it cool with my co-workers, making a wiseacre comment about the scene...but it was couple of years later before I obtained it for my collection....Ms. Applegate, what a vision. |

Did you happen to catch it? There's another one like this been hoping to catch for the collectors here. Lucy Zilio on CFMT channel was doing one of her comment breaks, or (Info-tainment as they call it), and tape-gagged herself as well. Just for collector assistance, if ever available again? (Homepage link has photo & info) What happens is Lucy and another lady have quick breaks during shows where they relate a humourous story, then snark on it. One after, Lucy is snarking on how duct-tape is used for everything except on ducts it designed for. Then tears off a piece a gags herself at end. If someone caught either of these and can get them to Fuzz or someone? Be appreciated. |

Monday March 31 17:59:29 2003 Re: unexpected bondage |
Two categories here, really. One is where the scene sneaks up on you, with nothing in the plot or dialogue to give you a warning to start the VCR. Like on Buffy a while ago when Wesley opens the closet door to reveal a gagged woman in a cage.
The other is where you find it in a non-adventure context, like on a cooking show, or sometimes as a gag (the other kind) in a comedy. Saturday Night Live had one about a year ago. Or Belinda Carlisle's flash in the I Get Weak video. |

As luck would have it, I had to go to some B.S. formal dinner that night, so I pretended time had gotten away from me and asked him to leave. Sometimes life hands you material. Probably didn't need to do that, though. If I remember correctly, we both watched a "Magnum, P.I." scene one time with the DiD in a hospital bed. His comment: "They should leave her like that." Anyway, I fear this is getting off-topic, so enough for now. |

E.g., Demi Moore's The Scarlet Letter (1995). |

Here's a juicy tidbit from cinescape.com:
------- Director Peter Jackson has finally gotten his precious. After earning critical and commercial acclaim for two LORD OF THE RINGS films, Universal Pictures has agreed to allow Jackson to remake the classic 1933 RKO Radio Pictures KING KONG. Jackson wrote the script for his version of KONG about five years ago (together with RINGS writing partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens) but at the time Universal passed on the notion of greenlighting the film. See how things change when your previous two films make a billion dollars at the box office? "No film has captivated my imagination more than KING KONG," Jackson said in a press release yesterday. "I'm making movies today because I saw this film when I was 9 years old. It has been my sustained dream to reinterpret this classic story for a new age. "The story of Kong offers everything that any storyteller could hope for: an archetypal narrative, thrilling action, resonating emotion and memorable characters. It has endured for precisely these reasons and I am honored to be a part of its continuing legacy." Universal wants to release the film sometime around the holiday 2005 period. As with his RINGS films, Jackson's company, Wingnut Films, will produce the new KONG movie and the WETA special effects company will create the movie's FX. Jackson wrote his version of KONG just as the original film was set in the 1930s, and the movie will be set in that same period. "Anyone who has seen the first two installments of THE LORD OF THE RINGS knows that Peter will bring Kong to life as a real character," said Stacey Snider, Chairman, Universal Pictures. "His vision for the tragic tale of the misunderstood creature, with its poignant character development and technological wonder, will make KING KONG compulsory viewing for any real movie lover." ------- So... Peter Jackson at the helm, it'll be set in the 1930's, & not a single DeLaurentis is involved!!! I can't wait!!! So(2)... Who would you like to see in the role of Ann? ------- P.S.: Damsels Under Glass has been updated (URL below.) |

No way to see that one coming. Actually, for collecting as long as I have, it's kind of unusual to never see one coming, since you find yourself "on alert" every moment while watching TV! :) > The other is where you find it in a non-adventure > context How about the Drew Carrey show "Mimi's a partner" episode? That scene sort of appeared without any prior warning in the plotline. > And perhaps even a third category: When a movie is based > on a book or play that one knows has no bondage. I wish I were "better read," so I might be able to list a few more of these. But the aforementioned "Scarlet Letter" is a good example. |

Thanks for the alert on Sceptre on the SciFi Channel, the gal cuffed spreadeagled and upside down to the wall and upside down while laughing insanely was a hoot. Reminded me of nothing more than the old Wizard of Id comic strip. I kept expecting her to exclaim, "The King Is A Fink!"
Also thanks for the alert on Pony Soldiers. I got in just at the end, but I did see the gal in the bit gag. I guess bit gag were considered primitive Indian devices in those days. |
