The Secret Service is part of the Treasury department.
This scene was from the same show as the other two
mentioned.

The big problem with that was that it was on Sunday
nights on NBC, back when they still had football.
East/Central showings were often a victim of overrun.

Judging from the non-discussion, I assume no scenes ...

My suggestion: translate the above banter to Chinese language using Babel.

Tell them: "US & European viewer did not understand complex knots". Post it on HKMDB.COM forum, complete with link to picture of "Nash's daughter bound and gagged inside a bus" (from Nash Bridges).
I am sure all future Chinese movies / TV series will use the favourite "bound arm in front" style.

Perhaps a better style is Pamela Anderson scene in VIP where the villain just put tape gag on her mouth (without tying the arm) and she does not know how to remove the gag!

And that is exactly what I remember about this scene. NBC had been running a promo for it all week and then the damn football game ran over by about 15 minutes and the show was joined in progress AFTER the segment aired.

That Melissa George is something. She's been on "Friends" twice the past month, and actually looks better now than she did last year on "Thieves." I wish that show had gotten at least one full season. I know everyone complained about her scene, but the closeups are priceless.

Heh. Thanks, asian et al...definitely enjoying this thread. Please to be continuing your salutary efforts in educating our Eastern brethren in the achievingness of to be tying their damsels beneficiently.

Yes, I can see Chinese filmmakers being enormously influenced here.

There was a scene on "All for Lust" a Skinamax film last that aired week which had pretty much the same thing -- the villainess tightly cleave gags the damsel onscreen, then cuffs ONE of her hands to the bedframe, leaving the other hand free. Fortunately, being a Skinamax damsel, she never figured out that she could easily remove the gag with her free hand. She just laid back on the bed and tugged disconsolately at the cuff.

Last night I just checked it out and the main character was hit on the head by this evil woman and now she's chained to a basement.Hopefully events will transpire to get her gagged

US and Canadian TV & Movie producers will run out of duct tape soon. Apparently duct tape have capability to lower people's IQ!
Perhaps they will replace "hard to find" duct tape gag with.....stuff gag!

Ah yes, "The Abyss"... another of those movies in which I think... If only *I'd* been on the screenwriting team! :-)

Remember the circumstances? The SEAL commander is going wacko from gas mixture sickness (or whatever they called it?) He locks the civilians in a habitat chamber, & as he's doing so Mary Elizabeth's character mouths off... so he tape-gags her?

Well, what if... Instead of shoving her in with the others, he decided to keep her with him, as a hostage to the others' good behanior? Now imagine the scene where he's sitting in the "moon pool" (still going quietly wacko) & sharpening a knife. (Wasn't that what he was doing?) Ed Harris' character sneaks up on him... & as he does so we see that nearby Mary E. is tied up tight & still tape-gagged! She's been sitting there nervously, squirming in her bonds, & watching the SEAL guy go nuts. She sees Ed approach, they make eye contact, & she goes still when the SEAL looks at her. When the fight happens, she struggles & mews & tries to kick, the guys flop around her struggling for the knife, she almost gets stabbed (& her eyes pop wide above her gag as the blade stabs the deck hear her face.) Anyhoo, Ed can't prevent the SEAL from escaping with the bomb. He unties Mary E. ...& the movie continues as written from there.

It coulda been a contender! :-)

Similiar to the 'Brig Break' episode of JAG where Tracy Needham has one hand cuffed but doesn't bother to remove the tape gag.

All My Children
Presidential news conference interrupted All My Children right after Maria was grabbed for 30 minutes, and when it resumed she was free and on the run. What timing they have. At least there's SoapNet, which will air the episode again at 4 p.m. today. The strawberry blonde, bound and gagged off screen last week, is also back in the storyline.

speaking of Lois Lane...
>>>Darkhorizons.com says Zentertainment.com says "Lara Flynn Boyle is the frontrunner to play Lois Lane<<<

So instead of getting young, voluptuous, hottie (Jordana Brewster, Jennifer Love Hewitt, etc..) or an older actress with some serious “va-va-voom” (Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sandra Bullock, etc..) they're going for a chain-smoking, anorexic, stick-figure that only looks marginally ok with massive amounts of make-up and just the right lighting at just the right angle. Unbelievable. Kind of reminds me of that other downright ugly Lois Lane, Margot Kidder…

Always a great fear of mine that one of these will turn up at the worst time. In the early 1990s, ABC did the same thing at THE VERY SECOND Karen Whittier was getting bound and gagged on "One Life to Live." Talk about a horror show. When it resumed on Monday, the scene was just about over.
At least we have "SoapNet" for the ABC soaps. Talk about a safety net.

You left out razzing Lara Flynn for that hideous pink ballerina dress she wore to the Golden Globes. :-) I guess the real issue is the script. If they write Lois as a mid-career overachiever (like Margo Kidder's LL), Lara Flynn Boyle would do. (Frankly, she's not first on *my* list either.) If they script LL as fresh-from-journalism-school... *then* they need a young hottie. Hmm... Selma Blair might make a good compromise. I think she'd look *really cute* chewing on a tight cleave-gag... Dark basement, ticking bomb, tight ropes over a black sweater & wool skirt, dirty knees (tied, of course), ankles tied & one heel kicked off, the other still on... Hurry Superman!!! :-)

There is a second scene with Amy Pietz standing with her arms chained to the walls on either side while wearing a wedding dress. She also looks good wearing lingerie in an earlier scene, but no bondage in that scene. The DID wearing the mask gag is Kata Dobo.

I'm with you on Lara Flynn Boyle. She is one of the most unattractive women in Hollywood right now, mostly thanks to the anorexia she's fallen victim to. I saw a pic of her from the Golden Globes and she was wearing a short, low-cut gown, which was a shame because her breasts had been dieted down to a pair of mud flaps and her knees looked swollen on her bony legs. Her face is also kinda pasty and when she wears a lot of makeup she looks a lot like Michael Jackson. I have NO idea why anyone would pick her to play a role that demanded any kind of hotness whatsoever. Starving refugee? Sure! Prison camp inmate -- great! (She'd have been perfect for Paradise Road.) But Lois Lane? It'll be a sad day for all if she winds up with the role.

I think she'd look OK if she'd put on a little weight, but I don't think she's gonna do that without some psychological or medical intervention. 'Cause she obviously has no idea what she actually looks like.

Re: Scene ID
> Thanks. I knew that once

OK, here's another one (I think)... the very last pic on your TV page of the Hawaiian Eye unknown looks like it might be Laya Raki (real name: Brunhilde Jorns... my god!)from "Kim Quixote" first aired 4-30-1960. It fits the description in Scene Database #1985 and other pics of Laya on the net tend to make me think it's a match. She also made it into a "Girls of New York" pictorial for Playboy in the early 60's... pretty good looking. I could be way wrong on this scene ID but maybe someone else here knows for sure.

Huh, Van, the answer would be... Yes! to that; and Selma has the body too. Similar to Katie Holmes, who they mostly flatten out in Dawson's Creek, but she will blow your mind if you see "The Gift". Selma is deceptive that way; I've seen one or two pics where she clearly has amazing breasts (not that everyone cares, but heh, some do). IMHO, these two are due now.

Before I made that post, I flipped through all of the ST:TNG books that I could find around the house and didn't see the passages. I know I didn't dream it though (although what a nice dream it would be...) :)

But I know I wouldn't have gotten rid of them. So when I *do* find them, I'll definitely come back and post the titles.

Was it an actual "gag" in the sense it was keeping her quiet against her will (even if she wasn't tied), or was it some kind of S & M mask she was wearing willingly? I didn't catch the episode.

When in the episode did the scene occur? I missed the first half hour (I didn't know it was a 90-minute episode & started a half hour earlier than normal) & haven't watched what I did manage to record yet (the last hour)

Karen was grabbed and knocked out by injection. She was shown (decent closeup) with her hands tied behind a post. Another chick was tied hands in front with her in a tent. No gags for either. A quick shot of her tied wrists later when she was cut loose so the bad guy could inject her again. I won't disclose how it ends, but I'm sure you won't like it.
