Yahoo Groups
You're right in critizising Yahoo-Groups, Henry. And not everyone is willing to register in any kind of group so these huge number of ressources of DID-scenes don't make it to the mass of people. An increasing number of sites are breaking down these days, and the exchange by growing numbers of restricted groups don't help very much. It's the same with those other non-american Yahoo-groups like latinasatadas etc.

What Henry wrote is very true.

But we should all keep in mind that access to the files in a Yahoo group is based on the number of members, the more members there are, the more access there is and the better your chance of actually seeing the clip.

So, as more people join, eventually it will reach the point where access is pretty much unlimited.

I personally greatly appreciate all the effort put forth by those good souls who attempt to share their vid clips and photos no matter how they do it !!!!

Wayne, I believe this is what you listed as an unknown sci-fi movie in your new update:

Record number: 1569

Title: Howling II (1985)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Annie McEnroe

Description: In the second hour, Ms. McEnroe is handgagged, then shown bound arms above to a post and cleavegagged. She's then smeared with blood.

DVD from tapes

I hope this is on topic
I think alot of us have tons of tapes with scenes on them that we haven't ever gotten a chance to catalog or have even seen in years (no Greg ,,,just you...lol).

I have recently seen that the machines to recorder videotapes to DVD's have become really resonable.
I'm opretty excited about getting one & going through my entire collection and changing it over to DVD's.

I've got a feeling that the DB is going to get alot of new old entries next year.

Re: yahoo groups
It's ok to discuss what's out there for people to use for setting up sites of interest. However, some are starting to use this as an avenue to bash the owners of free sites. As always, that is NOT allowed. If you have a problem, contact the site owner. If the site owner ignores you, TOUGH. It's not of interest here. We clear?

Yes, this is on-topic. I allowed "technical" discussions
to move here after AG went away.

In fact, user experience with low-end (Panasonics are
going for $250 or less these days) or high-end setups
would be of interest to many.

I'll be the first one to say they are a PITA to use. You really have no clue as to when you've reached your cap, how much people have downloaded, etc.
But they are free. And basically have no ads.
And that is a pretty big thing, mainly because all these free sites are closing mainly because of, wait for it, the owners don't feel like shelling out $40+ a month for years at a time, or putting the site on a host that opens 20 pop-ups every 12 minutes.
If you want a site where you don't have to register with yahoo or something, you have to step up and pitch in a couple bucks or contribute something to site owners. Bandwitdth and hosting isn't free, and sending out hundreds of gigs of (adult themed, which costs more) data isn't cheap.
And don't get me wrong, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, but if the 30 second sign up process for a yahoo account with a fake name is too just much for you. Well, then, /tear

dems the breaks.

Several DirecTivos (200+ hr storage) w/dual tuners (for recording tons of programs) -> Panasonic DMR-E80H w/80GB hard drive (for editing down)-> store on DVD-R in XP (1 hr/disc) to SP (2hr/disc) - less than $1/disc now.

Quality is excellent, any copies are of course perfect. Each scene has it's own label, and of course can be put into computer to make nicer menus if desired. Also input from any VCR to the DVD recorder via composite or S-video (depending on VCR) to preserve scenes that will never be on again. And the DVD-recorder technology is even cheaper and more storage now.

I just got a scene from an overseas contributor that was done direct to DVD on one of the new recorders - absolutely
stunning / picture perfect quality - QUITE amazing!
I rather doubt that VHS is long for this world now.
I HIGHLY suggest that the lads check out this new technology.

I've figured out this deletion may have been my own doing due to an email problem and I might not have activated the email account, which could have led to automatic deletion. Then again, maybe they just deleted it. I'm going to try again and create another group. Sorry everyone has to be checked in again.

Hey all...making my annual post. Sorry to see fuzzweb go down recently. Glad to see Van working with a new site.

"Wow" is all I can say to my reaction upon seeing in the new Stuff Magazine (Jan 05, Tara Reid on cover, page 127) an ad for a product called The Liberator - a sex pillow with straps that allow you to cuff your partner in place. Check out the photo if you happen to see it on your local magazine rack. I was surprised to see this in a mainstream publication, here's hoping it signals a new trend of greater tolerance for bondage themes in the mainstream.

In the meantime, check out their web site at the link below. You can probably find the printed photo there as well. (I do not work for this company, this was just too good not to mention.)

Hoping this isn't out of bounds, It didn't look like it had been mentioned before...

DVR
I can't remember if I need BRs. I'll repost if I do.

Thanks, Moderator, for calling this in-topic. I recently got a Panasonic DVR - DMR800 or something like that. 120 Gb hard drive, writes to DVD-R disks (read-only) and DVD-RAM (read-write, look just like normal DVD-R). It has been wonderful and I'd recommend it for ALL scene collectors.

How it works: 50 hours can be recorded to the hard drive. It has an infrared so that it can change your cable box for you. It will pull the schedule from the TV Guide channel to aid in programming. It also has multiple inputs so you can connect your VCR and your cable box using RCA cables, or coaxial cable directly. The instructions tell you exactly how to do this. Bottom line, "uploading" your VCR tapes to the DVD is easy as pie.

Yeah, it's awesome to record in DVD clarity. And, I've gone through the next two weeks (zap2it.com) and will have it all programmed in while I go on holiday - some awesome scenes upcoming next week - but the absolute best part is the editing. I never had the high-end VCR to ensure frame-by-frame editing, but I can do it here. Using play-lists, you can also re-order things if you chose, or maybe pull bits and pieces from the compilation tapes you upload for a "best of" or a "cleave only" or whatever.

Finally, when you put things on DVD you can set up chapters "just like the pros" for you convenience. It has no TiVo, but I'm not a big fan of rerunning live TV so I don't miss it. I also doubt the AI would be able to develop and recommend a set of favorites based on my particular tastes ;) The remote does everything, the manual is well-organized, and if you record in high-speed mode, you can high-speed dub to DVD-R and still watch and record other programs.

Retail at Best Buy in USA was $700. Retail online was at least $150 US less. Check those after-Christmas sales and make your 2005 a better quality year.

Thanks G-Man. The clips from Brit show Casualty are great. It seems like the plot may have been long with more shots; was it? Thanks.

Ditto from me - noticed you wanted to upgrade video - I'm doing same approx 2Jan/05 and can send you my ATI - AIW card (128MB onboard RAM)
Price? One Guiness (but I can usually force down two in a

Yes, in fact, I got a DVD recorder awhile back & am starting to get ready to begin the (lengthy) transfer of my tapes to disc. Like many of us, we trade for compilation tapes in addition to just individual scenes, and therefore, if you're like me, may have the same scene on 4-5 different tapes, usually of varying quality. In my master list I star (*) the scene that is of the best quality, so I'm think that instead of just sticking the tape in & recording the entire thing to DVD, I'm gonna go thru and just preserve the BEST copy of each scene I have (no sense in wasting space on 3 different versions of the same scene). Some of my tapes I've had LONG time and are even now starting to show some signs of degredation (I've found a few scenes that don't even have sound anymore, and I know they did when I first grabbed them, maybe 12 years ago in some cases!).

Of course I'm going to have to go thru a couple hundred tapes, dubbing individual scenes, so it'll probably take me a good couple years to do it all! :-)

My workplace bought a couple of the Panasonic DVD recorders about a year ago for archiving purposes. One has an 80Gb hard drive and one doesn't. I borrowed the one with the hard drive one weekend and tried reconstructing some of my "best of" vhs tapes onto dvd. A couple of good points and bad points. Keep in mind these may be specific to this particular model.

First of all, the stuff I transferred looked great. The machine has a built in noise filter that actually made some of my ancient soap tapes more watchable. One thing to watch out for is the speed that you record on. I first tried the one hour mode and while the stuff looked incredible, it would lock up when I tried to play it in my Apex dvd player. When I redubbed some scenes in the two hour mode, they played fine and the quality was still almost as good as the one hour mode. I did some test recordings of stuff like "Seinfeld" in one hour mode and gave it to a friend who had a Panasonic dvd player and he had no trouble playing the disc. I should also point out that all of the speeds played fine in the dvd recorder itself.

Probably the biggest minus for me was NO KEYBOARD! It has an onscreen keyboard that is operated with the hand held remote but that gets old really fast especially when your dubbing and titling large numbers of scenes. I've looked at around 20 different models from various manufacturers and have yet to find one with a keyboard option.

One other thing is the price of blank discs, which run from between $2.50 to $4.00 each. You can pick up off brand stuff for about a $1.50 per disc. And the price does seem to be slowly dropping for the major brands. I can remember when one vhs tape costs $25.00, so I guess the price is not that much out of line.

Overall I was impressed with the Panasonic model and the pluses outweighed the minuses.

You're welcome, guys. And you are right, there is more to it than three caps worth. (My clip of it runs for two and a half minutes and she is gagged for about half of that.) With Geocities limits on data transfer, I try to sum up a scene in as few caps as possible. I'm also running low on storage space on that, and three other geocities', accounts. (Who knew caps could take up so much space.)

Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys---SciFi Tonight!
Somebody mentioned this earlier, but it's not on the Alerts page.

The previews of "Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys" show a damsel (not Vanessa Angel) apparently bound in an iron maiden-style device, being gloated over by a demonic clown. If it's like all other Puppet Master "movies", it'll be painful to endure, but I suppose somebody ought to watch it.

Just off the top of my head:

* Peyton List, As The World Turns. I thought it was great, but some disagree. Also, it was pre-empted in much of the country.

* Kirsten Dunst, Spider-Man 2. Most of the classic elements were there. Gagless, but it couldn't be avoided.

Ritek makes excellent media, and I posted on the trading page a couple weeks ago that you could get 100 for $30 or so shipped free at amazon. Watch for deals like that. http://www.bensbargains.net has a bunch of dvd media and computer related and whatever else deals.

IMHO
it was the MOST WORTHLESS PIECE O SHEEE--OTT
I have ever seen
the "bondage" was minimal and not even worth mentioning..
it was especially one of those annoying endeavors that we all HATE where there were numerous realistic opportunities for good B&G actions with quite a few REALLY hot girls that were absolutely wasted in the attempt to Out-Suck Ed Woods at his absolute lowest (you could FRIGGIN CLEARLY SEE THE FISHING LINE THAT MADE THE PUPPETS MOVE)

The "talent" (how loose can I POSSIBLY use THAT term) at "Full Moon" should be Federally barred from any further attempt at movie making
I think anyone who watched this schlock will lose at least 50 IQ points for several months!!!
