Sunday December 05 00:14:13 2004 Re: Heather Locklear |
This is a long shot.
Anyone remember a magazine from the mid-90s with Heather Locklear on the cover in a pink(?) rubber dress? I don't remember the mag, but it must have been some hip cultural periodical. I only remember this line on the cover: "Rubber the right way." There were several pics of her inside, none in bondage. BUT - in the accompanying article, the author talks about how great it is that Heather seems to be up for anything in these photos, including some "light bondage" shots with her wrists lightly tied behind her back with rubber tubing or something. There was a great quote from Heather about those shots. "I know, I know, 'What does this say about women?' It says it looks cool, so get over it." I was in agony that none of the photos in question made the issue, and I wondered if they'd ever pop up anywhere. Any of this sound familiar? |

Tune in Tuesday 7 pm c A big Nicole fan, I was disappointed to suss out that since the Gingers compete next in what previews show to be an underwater contest, Nicole will not receive the arms behind back treatment that the preview shows Rachel in. She will have been "banished to the other side of the island." I can only hope that the other side of the island is home to a few hungry headhunters. Or maybe Mindy Stearns (nee Burbano, the surviving millionaire's wife) can get herself into some fine mess. The music video scenes are cute, though, albeit absent Nicole. As far as the pole being thirty feet behind Rachel... well, sure, maybe, but I'm a glass half full kind of guy. Maybe Rachel had her arms stretched in a re-creation of the rack scene. |

There was a great quote from Heather about those shots. "I know, I know, 'What does this say about women?' It says it looks cool, so get over it." ---- On the October 1994 cover of "Details" magazine, she wore a purple rubber dress, for the lead story "Heather Locklear Rubber the Right Way". The paragraph in question was: "On the other hand, she is willing to sit for an entry-level bondage shot. Both her manager and her publicist are concerned about the pose, in which pink rubber tubing is wrapped around her upper torso, then strung down to her hands, which are tightly bound together. She understands the political implications of bondage. 'I know: What's that saying for women??' she says later with a sigh, then clucks dismissively. 'It's saying it looked kinda cool. Get over it." |

Not sure where on the net to find it, but I recall reading about Annabella Sciorra talking about how she spent all day hogtied in her scene in "Whispers in the Dark". Two more recent examples are from DVD commentaries by Eliza Dushku on "Wrong Turn" and Leelee Sobieski on "Joyride". Eliza mentioned being bound to the bed all day long, there was also a Fangoria magazine article where she talked about it. Leelee, on her dvd, mentions how the "Clear Tape" used to gag her was actually just plastic wrap but she is such a good actress that she was able to make "Gag-talk" sound convincing. Sorry, that's all I can help ya with |

I'd compare this to some other things that are "accepted," but they would be off-topic. I will mention, though, that I watched "Walker, Texas Ranger" a couple of nights ago, and the start was the typical DiD situation: Sheree Wilson and a female cop handcuffed to bedposts. But right away, the cop found a way to get free at least once. Of course, they were immediately recaptured. At the end of the show, the female cop was kicking ass along with Walker and his stooges. The point is that one bondage situation doesn't throw all women into some kind of helpless state. |

Sunday December 05 12:43:11 2004 auditions |
All this recent talk of how actresses feel about being tied up got me thinking. Every now and then an episode of a cop show produces an all bondage eipisode, that is to say one where a girl is kidnapped is kidnapped in the first act and rescued in the last. Sometimes we get a lot of scenes in between other times there are just rthe capture & rescue scenes, either way the actress in question seems to have little to do in between. one example that springs to mind is an episode of the BBC show Murphy's Law in which a pretty young woman spent almost the entire 90m b&g in a cellar under a car park. I just wonder how an actress auditions for a rolelike that, and what goes through her mind when she sees the script? |

For the sake of the actress I imagine they film it all at once and then during the editing process split it up into segments that get inserted into the final version so the audience appears to be "checking in with the DID" occasionally. Alternatively, we know some film lengthy segments in short 5-10 minutes spurts (actress is untied then retied in-between) and that's where the inconsistencies are noticed by our crowd as we see in one segment scene she's gagged, the next she's not, the next it's in the mouth, the next it's over the mouth, etc. |

Take emma Amos in Heartbeat last week, several years experience on her CV but asked to play a role that required her to do little more than mmpphh. Did she audition? or was she sent a script and asked if she wanted to play kidnap victim? what does it look like on someones audition tape? |

I heard the opposite, she'd allow ankles to remain bound but the other stuff came off and put back on. The thing about metal cuffs (The Big Hit) is it's no big deal to unlock them and relock them later unlike a rope tie. |

Sunday December 05 19:43:44 2004 The Librarian—Quest for a Left Coast Alert! |
"The Librarian—Quest for the Spear" premieres on TNT tonight (8PM ET/PT) I've watched the previews closely, & there's a scene in which beautiful blonde costar Sonya Walger is standing with her hands behind her back. It looks like the climactic scene, & it's conceivable the villains have captured the goodguys just as they all reached their mutual goal. Might be worth watching. Kelly Hu plays a villainess! :-) |

Her legs are tied, wrists are cuffed, she has a fairly effective looking gag and she's in a schoolgirl skirt. A couple really great scenes. Quotes from some interviews . . . Even with no previous acting experience, China won favorable reviews. Playing a rich girl kidnapped by gangsters, she had to spend hours at a time tied up, gagged, and handcuffed. "When they would yell 'Cut,' the crew would ask me if I wanted my legs untied," she says. "It wasn't worth it because five minutes later I'd have to be tied up again. Then there was a scene where I got thrown into the trunk of a car and the trunk door slammed down on my head. Now, that hurt -- my brain bounced! But it was a blast." (Maxim) "But I'll tell you one thing, the hard thing was acting like I didn't like getting kidnapped by the four of them!" Mine ;) Since the caps are pretty big (yahoo groups has a 5mb/file 20mb/total limit) I can't have them all up at one time. I'm sending files up to about 30 mb out by email and letting your email provider eat the cost of the bandwidth ;) Join the yahoo group for all the details. It's been working pretty well, I have about 40 people on the daily list, not sure how much bigger it can get before yahoo notices that they are sending over gig of emails a day for me, but hey. BTW, we just hit 11,000 entries in the DB. |

This should be especially good news to whipping fans. The Whipping Scenes in Movies Database, which closed in September, has been preserved and will live on at its new home at Bring Out The GIMP (Girls In Merciless Peril) at
http://books.dreambook.com/zfxetc/main.html And when you come by to check out the database, we hope you'll stick around and visit us on a regular basis. Let me tell you about our site. We are a discussion group that caters more to the "harder" and more "extreme" level of bondage entertainment. Discussions of videos involving bondage, whipping, electro-torture, rape; you name it, we've probably discussed it at the GIMP. We started off as a discussion group for ZFX videos and we've been going strong for over 5 years now. In addition to the whipping scenes lists, our site also features separate databases for movies with electro-torture scenes and another one for rape scenes. There are 4 pages of bondage video reviews and another page full of links where you buy these extreme bondage vids and DVDs. And check in often, because there's a new bondage picture posted every day. Besides all of you, we've even had visits by ZFX creator Rick Masters, as well as Lisa Kinkaid, Dan Hawke, PD from Insex, noted bondage artist Gary Roberts, Gerard Titsman, and other bondage producers who come in and interact with their fans. You never know who may show up next. Come by and join us, if you're interested. We're all pervs down here; you'll feel right at home :) |
