Eliza Dushku: "Tru Calling"
Today's "Dark Horizons" site indicates that the net execs are unhappy with the first few episodes, and are sending it back for re-casting and re-shooting, to be premiered in the spring at the earliest. They also link a review of the un-aired first episode that doesn't indicate anything of interest to us in that one.

Amusing soap quote of the day
"Any more screaming, and you can have a masking-tape sandwich for lunch."

Cameron also qualifies for the Triple Crown (although the cleave in Head Above Water was pretty quick).

How stupid are they at Fox? (I know, dumb question). How do they select these shows for fall release without seeing the first couple episodes, which are usually shot months ahead of time. Plus, it wasn't debuting until Oct. 30 anyway, and it's on Thursday at 8 against "Friends" and "Survivor" so how could it possible survive? Dushku didn't even want to do this series. She signed on before the final year of "Buffy" and couldn't get out of the deal when UPN offered her a Buffy spinoff because Fox heard about it and green-lighted her pilot to keep her away from UPN. Too bad but the delay may help in the long run. This show was doomed at 8 p.m. on Thursdays despite Eliza's presence.

DiD in new Palahniuk novel?
From Salon.com's highly unflattering review of Chuck "Fight Club" Palahniuk's new book:

--
The latest is "Diary," the story of Misty Marie Wilmot, who works as a waitress on a tourist-plagued island off the New England coast. ... Eventually, when Misty is kept imprisoned and blindfolded by the townsfolk, it's not clear who's writing it.

You're right that show sounds doomed to fail. If she was smart, her and Josh Whedon should have a Buffy spin-off still in the works, ready to go when things at FOX go belly up.

I tend to disagree. The gag in the picture looks to me more like an OTM than a cleave or even a semi-cleave. In addition, according to the database, Harvey Keitel is talked out of gagging Ms. Diaz in that scene, and from the picture posted it is unclear if he has tied the gag in place. The other Head Above Water scene is a cloth OTM gag and her other gag scenes use tape. Hence, I don't believe that Ms. Diaz has attained the triple crown, though she may have come close. From what I understand, Ms. Diaz has no problems with B&G scenes. Therefore, I think that there is a good chance that Ms. Diaz will likely add to her DIDography and could come away with a Triple Crown or perhaps even the elusive gagslam/gagcycle!

Umm... didn't she have a cleave in Being John Malkovich?

Fear Factor promo goes for DiD imagery
I just caught what I believe is a promo for this coming Monday's Fear Factor which showed the gal in the bikini chained to the rotating plexiglas board. Interesting that that was the image they used to promo the episode, eh? It's kinda like they thought folks would find it intriguing.

I'll post it to the Alerts page.

No, I think it was tape... my bad. I hate duct tape so much I imagine it's not there.

Marcie's scene also was a flameout. No bondage, unless you count a blindfold early on. She was just put through a very vicious hazing by some sorority wackos.

Many shows have shown promos with DiD scenes. One of my all time favorites was the Angel promo for the "Over the Rainbow" epidsode. It showed Cordelia being carried off to the market gagged and bound across a spit. The voiceover states "[She's]enslaved in a strange world..."

Oh man! That was a classic. I remember watching the end of every WB show to catch that promo again. I did see a couple more times. Great stuff!
