Hello All,
According to the official She Spies web site, new episodes will begin the weekend of Sept 26th. Unfortunately it looks like they are introducing another male into the cast, but the return for our money was pretty good last year. Let's hope for the same. |

Saturday September 20 12:33:32 2003 Deadly Swarm? |
Hey, I seem to recall someone saying there was a cleave in it, but since tonight is the first showing - is there any truth to it?
Deadly Swarm is on sci-fi tonight. |

At the web site there's a preview video that has a split second clip of him untying a blonde from a chair. Her head is sort of turned to the side so I can't confirm it's Nikki. Also, I didn't see a gag, but he could have already removed it. |

From > one > > handgag fan to all the others, I'm just curious . . There is a favorite of mine which I have been unable to find the name of the actress or the episode title. It was from "The Streets of San Francisco". The story involved a wanted criminal hiding out at the home of a woman and her teenage son. A young woman who was a family friend was also there. When the cops show up, the criminal takes the young woman upstairs and handgags her while the mother and son get rid of the cops. Later, the cops return and he takes her to the kitchen and handgags her again (briefer scene). If anyone has info on that, it would be appreciated. Other faves include Lucy Deakins in "Cheetah", the aforementioned Talia Paul scene, and Darryl Hannah - "Memoirs of an Invisible Man". |

As we know, there was no such scene, and nothing thar even could have been mistaken for it. So where did you see this? Is it possible the scene was changed before it got on the air? I can imagine them writing it originally as bondage and then deciding that was a taboo subject. |

I tuned in based on your posts, and it is indeed the episode. So in case you didn't see it here's the rundown. The scene occurs at about the 30-40 minute mark. Bell is lead to a room to be interrogated via torture. When next we see her she's already restrained to a wooden table via metal cuffs above her head. The torture is about to begin when one of her male associates breaks into the room and fights with the torturer, who is eventually overcome allowing the guy to rescue Bell. There are lots of brief shots of Bell watching the fight in the form of head shots & medium shots, most showing the cuffs. If there were any shots establishing whether or not her legs were restrained they went by too fast for me to notice. She's wearing slacks and a multi-colored maternity top. In short, it's too brief to be a great scene but IMO worth looking out for. |

Saturday September 20 18:29:58 2003 Proposed New Scene Term |
I'd like to propose a new term for scenes -- "vidcap scene." This does not mean a scene which lends itself to good vidcaps, but a scene that is extremely brief and involves no motion on the part of the damsel, so that it could just as easily be replaced by a vidcap in the movie itself and no one would notice.
Now, we already have a fine term for very brief scenes, "blinkies" (i.e., "blink and you've missed it" scenes. Vidcap scenes aren't meant to replace this term. But some blinkies and involve motion or mmphing, which would generally disqualify them as vidcap scenes, which are a subset of blinkies. All vidcap scenes are blinkies, but not all blinkies are vidcap scenes. The classic vidcap scene, to my my mind, would be Tammie Clatterbuck's scene in "The Borrower" which was nothing but a vidcap. Another example would be the scene in 'Sweet 16' with the naked cutie tied to a chair. Any other candidates come to mind? |

Saturday September 20 18:57:55 2003 Useless f-ing database entries |
In spite of all my fine instructionary prose, we still get crap like this:
Record number: 9109 Title: Crush Medium: Movie Actress: unknow Description: Alicia silverstone kidnaps this girl she handcuffs her hands behind her neck to a pole, her ankels are tied together, and she is gagged with silver duct tape. Besides being virtually incoherent, rife with spelling errors, with an incorrect title and without the easily checked actress name, IT'S A DAMN DUPLICATE!! Unreal. |

Pat, I hate to rain on your parade, but does the developing science of DiDology really *need* such a term? Jargon usually evolves to fill a need. Personally, I feel no need to refer to "static blinkies" as anything other than "static blinkies." Now... If anyone can think of a convenient term for "Naked Freckled Redhaired Celtic Cutie with Green Eyes comma Bound & Gagged"... let me know. :-) |

Saturday September 20 21:49:31 2003 Street Justice "On My Honour" |
Okay, so I suppose this is one of those "eye of the beholder" scenes. On the one hand, it's (for most of time) a lame hands-in-front tie. On the other hand: a nice cleave gag, plenty of closeups, a kidnapper who's far too fond of the sound of his own voice -- okay, I lied, that's not really a plus, so I edited him heavily -- and let's not forget ye olde plastique deathtrap!
Give it up once again for Jay L., yo. |
