Tuesday October 07 01:21:01 2003 ON SCREEN GAGGING |
Since nobody mentioned it I'll do the honors of mentioning my favorite on screen gagging scene (not counting tape gagging scenes) which is the shot of Phyllis Kirk being gagged in an episode from THE THIN MAN. The scene comes back from commercial with a close-up of Miss Kirk and the villain about to put the cloth gag over her mouth. She bites his hand and he then angrily applies the gag. |

I'm pretty much booked tonight and tomorrow -- hey, I'm an activist too, and there's this whole recall thing going on -- but I'll do my best to get the caps up, assuming that nobody beats me to it... |

Tuesday October 07 10:07:03 2003 Ritual-Tales from Crypt-Voodoo-Revelation |
There is a trailer on local TV with a woman bound AOH and
cleave gagged. The trailer also show voodoo / black magic. Title: Ritual. Is this the same movie as: "Tales from the Crypt presents Revelation aka Voodoo" (2001)? Is there any DID scene on this movie? |
Tuesday October 07 10:34:19 2003 Doctor Who & DiDs |
"DOCTOR WHO" had a spotty record as far as DiDs go. Lousie Jameson (as Leela)had an on-screen gagging after Mouthing off to the head baddie in the story "Talons of Weng-Chiang" great but short. However, the two principle female compaions of the Peter Davison era had disappointing DiD scenes. Sarah Sutton (Nyssa,my personal favorite companion) was manacled arms over head in her farewell story "Terminus"
Janet Fielding (Tegan) was bound wrists only by a group of English Civil War re-enactors int "The Awakening". No gags for either, and no back to back tie up for the pair ever! |

Tuesday October 07 11:10:29 2003 Re: Doctor Who & DiDs |
Yeah but a companion who started off as a Davidson era cast member got a cracking scene in her final story during the Colin Baker era. Episode 8 of Trial Of A Timelord (or episode 4 of Mindwarp if your a sci-fi nerd) saw her strapped to a gurney and she got an onscreen gagging WITH packing 8-).
Awesome scene such a pitty she became the 2nd regular cast member to be killed off rather than leave. Or so it seemed. Once over the shock of them killing Peri off 6 weeks later we discover she is in fact still alive. Poor cop out. |

Tuesday October 07 11:14:04 2003 Re: Onscreen Gagging vs. Anticipation? |
Onscreen gagging is fun once in a while but I get more enjoyment out of either seeing the damsel kidnapped (but not bound...yet) or it to be reported by another character "your wife never came home" etc etc. And then you have that sudden buzz knowing that you're potentially in for some did action. |

Also on Angeles, there is a scene where the three angeles are tied up, one (the brunette) in a nurses uniform. I also recall--was it Dark Justice?--one of the CBS crimetime-after-primetime shows a bad guy escapes from a hospital and leaves a nurse b-and-g'ed. |

Also a cholorform scene (the old bad guy in the back seat of the car trick. Could that ever work in real life?). The scene was silly in that a gag was clearly required, as Smart was transferred via car and awakens in the back seat. She also mouths off to the killer several times in the finale. No fan of Smart at this point (age 44 and looking 64) but a gag would have made the finale more dramatic. Speaking of age, Candice Bergen (an are-you kidding 57!) is looking better than ever in promos for the CBS movie Sunday "Footsteps." Candice plays a mystery writer harassed in her own home by a killer. Would love to see something develop there. I remember one "Murphy Brown" episode where Murphy is kidnapped and held in a trailer. No gag though. |
Tuesday October 07 12:04:52 2003 Re: Nurse scenes |
Of course, the nurse B&G by Diana Rigg (with a nice onscreen gagging). Bonus in that Ms Rigg gets B&G herself on the railway tracks (would have been interesting if she was still in the nurse's uniform but the leather suit was nice). |

------- I've added "Footsteps" to the "VCR Alerts" page. When I read the movie's synopsis, I was struck by how similar its premise (a multi-phobic novelist who is terrorized in her isolated beach house by a crazed fan, a sardonic hit man, and a saccharine husband) sounded to 1992's "The Fear Inside", which did produce a good scene for Christine Lahti. TV Guide magazine notes that "Footsteps" is directed by John Badham ("Wargames") and based on an unproduced play by Ira Levin ("Deathtrap"). BTW, I also think Candice Bergen is lookin' better with her hair growing back out. |

I was looking on Amazon.com and found that the Wrong Turn DVD will have commentary by Eliza Dushku (along with the director and a guy co-star). I wonder what she'll say regarding her scene (if anything)?

Tuesday October 07 16:04:23 2003 New Nancy Drew books |
Not sure if this'll be good news or bad, but evidently 2004 will bring a revamp of the Nancy Drew series:
"The publisher hopes to breathe new life into the series and into Nancy herself--making her more real with some flaws and insecurities but still able to catch the crooks and bring them to justice. Nancy will be able to adapt to new environments while still preserving her integrity. This new series will not involve that much romance as was the case in the classic series, and will concentrate on what is most important and what Nancy loves to do--solving mysteries!" Keep an eye on "Bold and The Beautiful" for the next few days. At the end of Tuesday's episode Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was hiding in the trunk of Sheila's car. As we all know when Sheila's around, a bound babe usually isn't far behind. Hopefully this will pay off because Sheila's brief return ends in couple of weeks and so far this time she's only tied up a couple of guys. Fingers crossed everyone. Airs on CBS daytime.

We (meaning *I*) have been TRYING to follow production of "World of Tomorrow," but they got NO Official web site, & the only *one* photo has been released. (See below.) They're playin; it *real* close to the chest. Supposedly 99.999999% of this flick will involve special effects, so POST-production is going to outweigh production by orders of magnitude. It may be a long time before we see anything... like until they have it in the can & release the first teaser trailer. {Sigh} Angelina Jolie's in the cast too (as a female pilot!) Also Ling Bai will be playing what will *probably* be a Dragon Lady-type villainess! I have GREAT EXPECTATIONS for this one, but it's a long time 'til May 2004. {Sigh} |

I stumbled upon that myself today by accident. The actor who plays Stefano on "Days" is on this show and he said to Sheila "Where's the child's mother?" I instantly hit record thinking Sheila had the mom stashed away and what I saw was the two guys tied and being guarded by the actress who played Janet on AMC (and was gagged on that show). Later, the blonde in the car was told "Stay here" while the guy investigated, so that also may lead to something since she's now in the trunk tailing Sheila. |

there is a very brief scene of Pink handcuffed in her new video on MTV - (I saw it on TRL)- it's got an old west theme to it.

I thought Robin Dearden, the loquacious and annoying reporter on that episode of "Knight Rider", was wearing a racing jacket while she was bound and gagged? Or did the villains put one on her to make her murder seem like a racing accident? As I recall, there is a scene in which she is captured; she is snooping, hiding behind something and tape-recording the dastardly villains discussing their plans. The tape recorder suddenly ejects, and the resultant noise causes her to be discovered; a villain applies a very forceful handgag on her. She is wearing regular street clothes in this scene. In the next scene, she is bound and gagged and "mmmph"-ing very vociferously; she is also wearing a racing jacket. |

She had on a blue turtleneck under the racing jacket. One of the most awful continous errors, since she's grabbed in a dress and later is bound and gagged in the racing jacket, turtleneck and tan cords. Too bad they didn't show the part where she's stripped to her bra and panties and redressed into her racing outfit. Seriously, why wouldn't they just have her in her gagged outfit. The dress is an all-time mystery. |

Now, what does she say about her gag scene? :-) Oh, all right, here are some of the highlights: the gag was saran wrap and not tape (which we knew) so that it wouldn't pull her hair out when removed; she could actually speak fine through the gag and was merely faking the mmmphing because "I'm a good actress, ha ha ha"; the saran wrap bonds themselves were tighter in some shots than in others but never really would have kept her from going anywhere, though they did flatten her boobs (her words, and I'm still annoyed that I somehow managed to accidentally edit that line out of my clip); and John Dahl has someone tied up in pretty much all of his movies, which she finds somewhat disturbing (though she still thinks he's a nice guy). |

The Professionals from way back (classic white), and The Saint with Shirley Eaton (a turtleneck sweater dress) are the best I can remember, also Heart's Open Fire (have never seen didcaps on that one). Didcaps of the former have been on various sites. Any kind of sweaters in did scenes are rare, the soaps are the best chance usually. Tuesday October 07 22:37:40 2003 General Hospital this week |
There is a high possibility of a tie-up this week on General Hospital for Lydia (J. Robin Miller). A teaser on Soapnet for tomorrow indicates: "Stefan drags Lydia to the tunnels." Another spoiler site has the following on Thursday: "Stefan is determined to sire a child with Lydia and ties her up."
The link below has a screencap already. It looks like she's tied to a post with no gag. Since they're in some sort of "tunnel" system, it seems a gag is not likely. However, I'm excited about this scene as Lydia is played by a very cute actress, and a redhead to boot. Van have you seen this girl? :-) BTW, I haven't posted to this site in a while, but the discussions are always enlightening. Not to mention the alerts. I'll post to the Alerts page shortly. |

Suffice it to say that designers like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano for Dior have experimented with turtleneck-gag (i.e. tops that cover the mouth) tops made out of materials like latex and leather, and there are plenty of pictures of models wearing these outfits. As for bondage, Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss have both been tied up, but in other contexts. Shalom Harlow and several others were handcuffed in Head over Heels. Salvatore Ferragamo once ran an ad campaign around bondage with their scarves, including a model with her hands tied behind her back, tied up feet, and tied up hands (as well as a scarf pulled flirtatiously over a models mouth, and one used as bra). I've never found pictures of this campaign on the web. Occassionally Paris Vogue runs bondage in its model shoots. |

Lets just hope that it is a gag around her neck, and that it'll be there a few times... |
