Tuesday October 28 08:09:55 2003 CSI Miami misses by a hair |
CSI Miami could have had a scene last night. The cops are searching for a missing woman. They bust the residence of the perp. David Caruso's character spots a doghouse on the grounds, but there are no dogs anywhere or any other signs of a dog. There's nothing in the doghouse but Caruso gets suspicious and moves it, revealing a pit with a damsel in it.
She is unbound and ungagged, and has been there for awhile. Why the evil captor didn't bother to do more ... I dunno. |

Saw a commercial for ABC week of Halloween shows and I swear that the wife on George Lopez is about to get a hand gag. I happened to be recording something at the time this commercial came on, so I was able to review the commercial. Watch for George Lopez this week, I think it may pay off. |

That's Constance Marie, who's looking 20 times hotter today than she did in her "Early Edition" scene a couple years back. Constance did look awesome about 10 years ago in her "Cobra" scene with her hair permed. On same note, ABC was advancing the Halloween episodes and Kelly Ripa was taunting a cop in a "Hope & Faith" episode promo at some party. Maybe he'll use his cuffs (and some tape) on her. |

I agree. Constance Marie was bound and gagged not once, but twice! She played a woman who was being stalked by a deranged ex-husband. He used duct tape to bind and gag her both times. |

Tuesday October 28 16:38:59 2003 "Mutant X" |
Posted this over at Alerts, but figured I'd mention it here, too:
"Mutant X" (syndicated-- time and channel will vary from city to city) In this week's episode, Victoria Pratt, who plays "Shalimar" will be restrained, according to this synopsis: "Lexa and Shalimar arrive at the prison and are taken and strip-searched...When a guard notices they're [Lexa and another character] missing, they sound the alarm and handcuff Shalimar, believing she is involved...Inside the prison, a guard tases a restrained Shalimar, demanding to know where Lexa and Sara are, but she uses her feral strength to break the ropes and knock him out. As she tases the prison matron, a guard rushes in and points a gun at her." There are 'caps from the episode at this page: http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0310/28/mutantx.htm and it looks as though the restraint involves AOH (though it's not actually visible). I'm intrigued by the evident mixture of handcuffs and rope... and I have to admit, when I first read it, I thought it said that the guard was going to "taste" Shalimar. Imagine my surprise when I got to the part about Shalimar then "tasting" the prison matron. |

I know I have not been a frequent contributor here in some time and yes, Mr. Editor, I was not able to complete my E-zine article--real life has intruded--but I thought I should inform everyone of a very useful new feature on Amazon.com
The website now allows you to run searches for words that appear within the text of a book. There are 5074 results for a search for the word "gagged!" Of course, not all of these refer to being gagged. There's a whole lot of non-bondage related retching going on in some of these books... |

Tuesday October 28 17:45:27 2003 Signy Awards 2003 |
> (This from a guy who just voted for Catherine Bell's crappy, JAG, strapped-to-the-table DiD-scene as Scene-of-the-Year, *just* 'cause it's Catherine Bell!!!) :-(
------- While Whitelord's Signy Awards is trying to perform due diligence to prevent ballot box-stuffing, it is subject to the same sampling drawbacks as other Internet voting open to the general public. Here, the voters are "into" bondage, but not all are necessarily "into" (or even care about) mainstream TV/movie bondage. I noticed that one of my two semifinal picks (Sean Young in "Mary Higgins Clark's Before I Say Goodbye") didn't even make the top 20. It's fairly clear that enough Signy voters are basing their votes on name recognition of the actress, rather than on their 2003 DiD scene itself. E.g., Catherine Bell, Elisha Cuthbert (who didn't have a gag scene in 24's second season), and Yasmine Bleeth (only a brief non-gag scene in "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding") made the 2003's 20 finalists. Yet Sean Young's scene didn't, despite these DiD elements: Lengthy, struggling and mmphing on a bed, numerous closeups, onscreen Gagging, and a rare mainstream Gag-kiss. Of course, the "Un-knowledgeable" voting works both ways. E.g., Brian's Page garnered one of my votes for "Best Free Site", and I'll concede that I certainly haven't visited all of the other nominees. |

I'd been having some fun with the feature alright. I even found a novel about a main character who is tied up again and again for the part of Joan of Arc in a play, until she discovers that the person in charge is a thief! The way to deal with her? Tie her up again, and set the place on fire - for real. Such a fun plot, but the book wasn't aimed at adults unfortunately. Occasionally, fun illustrations come up. Click the homepage link to see an illustration of what appears to be a family tied to spears! I didn't really check out the rest of the book, so I don't know the context. It sounded too cheesy for me anyway. Now, this "Search Inside the Book" feature could turn out to be a great way to screen out books which may turn out to be disappointing. Once you've entered the name and found if it works with the feature or not, the next step is to put in "untied", "ropes", etc etc. I've seen books where a character can be tied up, without the word "tied" appearing anywhere. |

STOP BEING WUSSES! GAG THOSE FEMALE STARS!" Or, if that's a little over the top, how about sneaking in at night and dropping flyers around the shoot with all the reasons Victoria Pratt and Karen Cliche should be bound and gagged in at least 3-5 episodes per season? Hey, if Boston Public ever decided to shoot down here in Mississippi I guarantee the writers would mysteriously get DETAILED scripts on a running student-goes-crazy-turns-into-serial-kidnapper theme featuring Sharon Leal and Jeri Ryan at minimum. |

Tuesday October 28 19:22:17 2003 UPN Shows in Development |
Here's something from cinescape.com about UPN pilots in development:
(1) "NIGHTINGALE is from Brandon Camp, Mike Thompson and Sony Pictures Television. It's about a woman who fights crime in the middle of the night, then returns back to her home and has no recollection of ever being out of the house." (2) "Writer J.F. Lawton (UNDER SIEGE, V.I.P.) has an untitled project in development about two actresses working on a kids Saturday morning TV show who discover that their costumes really do give them superpowers. The show will reportedly blend together live-action and anime." They also have a pilot under development that is a transparent steal of TRU CALLING, only with a putz as the star. Anyhoo... thought I'd share this info about two *possible* DiD-prone shows that *might* make it on the air... *someday.* |

Tuesday October 28 20:35:28 2003 OLTL today |
What the &%#@$*! was that on One Life to Live today? Natalie totally unbound right from the beginning? What idiot wrote that whole storyline? Hmmmm. Let's have the two hottest babes on the show, Natalie and Jessica, in the clutches of criminals, one of whom suggests getting some tape, tying them up, and stuffing something in their mouths. Before they can get b&g, let's have the putz squad bust in. I know, let's tease viewers by having Natalie taken away as a hostage. Okay, have to tie her hands behind her for a little while. Now, how about have her yap the whole time at her captor who only is going to keep telling her to shut up and threatening her if she won't shut up, but won't gag her? Yeah, that's a good idea. Better have her escape since she's not just a helpless female. When she's recaptured, better make it realistic, so how about the bad guy taping her wrists lightly in front of her? yeah, that's what a real criminal would do. Tightly hogtying and gagging her? Nah, no one would do that to keep a million dollar hostage from escaping. Then when the payoff comes, we better untie her on the assumption the plan has gone perfectly and she won't try to escape again.
This storyline could have given us the best long-running two gorgeous damsel scene in history. Instead, it was barely worth using the VCR to tape it and watch the 'scenes' once. |

Usually, you can tell early in the storyline if there's a shot at a gag, you just get a sense. In this one, it was apparent early it wasn't happening, especially when the damsel isn't gagged when the bad guy makes the classic "phone call." It's the same with the constant tie-ups with Terri Colombino and Rebecca Budig that clearly call for gags yet fail to deliver. Shrug it off and wait for the next one, which there always is. |

Nothing of interest tonight and nothing in the preview for next week. Plus, I don't know what Elisha Cuthbert did to herself on her summer vacation, but she looks terrible.
