Tuesday November 04 00:35:20 2003 Re: Evil Twin-a-GoGo! |
By the way, for those interested, our favorite "Evil Twin" case (the gal who hired the teenage "hitmen" to tie up her sister and her friend, and was featured on Court TV a while back) is featured in one chapter of a book called, interestingly enough, "Evil Twins", by John Glatt.
The link is probably too long for the "homepage" field, so you can copy and paste: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0312968892/qid=1067923723//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i0_xgl14/002-2347729-6497635?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Or just look it up by title. |

There's a couple of brief reviews online of the remake of this one. No allusions to bondage one way or the other, so we'll see. |

Tuesday November 04 02:21:02 2003 GENERAL HOSPITAL |
It's a new month, so that means someone has to get tied up on Kinky, I mean General Hosp. Seems like every other week one of thier damsels is getting the rope work. Personally, I would like to see Rebbecsa Herbst chew on a tight cleve as i think she's just begging for it!! |

GREEEEEEEEETIIINGS, BONDAGE BUZZARDS. What's the best sequence yu ever saw? I would have to say the Wonder Woman had some of the best. Linda Carter had two of the tightest cleves I ever saw in The dolphin episode and the one where she,s bound up in back of an old car. a nice contrast to her gorgeuos blue eyes and high cheekbones. Also Erin Gray sported a nice tight cleve a few years later in the fall guy. Still would luv to get my hands on a good copy of "A Bear Called Arthur" with the illegally stunning Carol Alt. Anyone know if this film is avaible in the U.S.? This is one babe i could watch all day long chewing on a tight cleve!! |

Spun and many others have been just great. I think we've done well in terms of quantity of bondage scenes this fall, but as you note, the scenes themselves are lacking. Short, same materials used over and over again, a distinct lack of writhing and mmphing, and I'd add, nothing very imaginative about any of the scenes. I haven't commented much or written much about bondage on TV this year because there just hasn't been much to say that hasn't already been said. IIRC, though the nude pantie gag scene in SVU may have occurred early this year, so there would be one shining exception to the general dullness of TV bondage scenes. The soaps have been VERY productive, amazingly so, really, but from what I've seen of the caps, not very imaginative. As noted, the Mexican soaps seem to be livelier than the US soaps in terms of the quality of their scenes -- I probably need to catch a few of them. Softcore sex has been dull, but hardcore has been getting it on. Not really a topic for this page, so I'll not comment further. Frankly, there is still nothing out there anywhere that even comes close to adult anime. |

>...But there are trends I feel, and see, that put a cap on some of the enjoyment; and to a degree, hope, and I'm not sure why... it's just a feeling. Too many scenes are way too short (I bet the on screen average is under 5 seconds); too many use the same gray duct tape. Way too many are not sexy, or playful or interesting in any sense; they just lay there, or worse if you blink. One season of The Avengers had more interesting (and lengthy) bondage than all shows in the entire last year put together (or so it seems to me). So, I guess I'm feeling quality and length is way down and doesn't seem to be improving; I mean, do you really think they're going to stop or even slow the use of gray duct tape... ever?... Don't get me wrong, I don't want the good old days, I just want longer modern scenes (and less gray tape). ...it seems we in the U.S. are missing a lot. Of course, I can't prove this, it's just a feeling. ------ Yes, I can agree w/ you and other posters on this thread: Short length, gloomavision lighting, lack of mmphing, the same chairtie predicaments, and duct tape product placement seem to be an ailment. IMO, "in spite" of its use of duct tape, the 2003 TV-movie "Mary Higgins Clark's Before I Say Goodbye" receives a special commendation for producing a Gag-kiss on prime-time TV. Another DiD element that seems to be lacking is "Evil captor gloating", something that helps to make a scene special for me. "The Avengers" captors were certainly pleased to have had Diana Rigg under restraint, and in all four of Heather Locklear's "T.J. Hooker" b&g scenes, the leering captors actually reacted as though they knew it was special that they had a dream beauty, bound & gagged. And in Walker Texas Ranger's "Return of LaRue" episode, the DiD scene was long not because it involved an action sequence nor advanced the storyline, but because the ex-convict was rhapsodizing that he had the attractive prosecuting attorney shackled spread-eagled to a bed & strap-gagged. And viewers "know" this is how nogoodniks would act in real life (with the exception of "Buffy's" nerd genius trio, who'd rather go visit a video game arcade while they're invisible while ignoring the captive Willow :-D). And this evil captor gloating helps build up a sense of peril for our heroine. So I don't find the shift to showing only a blinkie resuce of a chairtied damsel at the end of a TV episode to be particularly compelling. |

Though I don't know that I spot any "trends" one way or the other, a good gloat can excuse a LOT of sloppiness for me. ------ Yes, because TV viewing requires a substantial amount of "Suspension of disbelief", I'm certainly willing to live with the "Wrists tied in front = Helpless damsel" and a "Cleave-gag = Silenced heroine". Those certainly require no more suspension of disbelief than all the truisms were forced to sit thru every hour (e.g., Everyone is good looking, certain minorities are virtually non-existent, people live in homes and apartments much larger than their job's salary should be able to afford, etc.). On the other hand, not having a villain(s) gloat when their character certainly should be, speaks of sloppy scriptwriting and/or directing, and is less forgiveable. Heck, gloating can provide the most memorable scenes. From "Goldfinger": James Bond: "And you expect me to talk?" Goldfinger: "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! Maw hahaha!" Or from T.J. Hooker "Trackdown": (Officer Stacy Sheridan is cuffed to a hotel bed & tape-gagged, after her cover is blown). Evil captor: "Bet you didn't think it'd be like this when you were sailing thru the police academy!" (Chucks her chin). |

Tuesday November 04 19:37:42 2003 Melrose time slot changed?? |
From the Alerts page:
Day: Tuesday November 04 2003 Time: 8:00a.m. PST Channel: E! Times may vary, so CYLL. Episode repeats tomorrow at 6:00a.m. Title: Melrose Place Medium: TV Series Actress: Marcia Cross Description: Episode: "Hook, Line, and Hayley" (4.13)etc. Has anyone else noticed that the early (6am PST, 8am Central)time slot, where the Melrose episode from the previous day used to air, seems to have stopped showing the series, but rather a "Revealed with Jules Asner" episode has been showing in its place. So in other words, "Hook, Line, & Hayley", alerted to show tomorrow morning at 8am (central) will not be shown. So if anyone missed it today (like me)when it aired at 10am (central still)will have to wait until the episodes swing around again in a few months to catch it. At least, this seems to be the case with DirecTV. Too bad for me, as I set my VCR to record both "Kimberly Does L.A." and "Hook, Line, and Hayley" at the early times both yesterday and today (so instead I got to watch 2 hours of "Revealed"..hoo-ray). |
