Jazz I thought I was the only one in the universe that thought that this scene had any redeeming value. I've always love Dawn Wells since the "Gilligan" days, but this scene convinced me that she was..let's say "intrigued"..with bondage imagery particularly when it applied (or was applied) to herself. In the movie as you may recall, the actress playing Ginger just stretched her arms out while Gilligan lashed her to the pole. Mary Ann, on the other hand (and as you say), put her hands behind her back and practically begged Gilligan to tie her tightly (..you tied Ginger!!...). I'll never forget the look on Dawn's face as she was being wrapped to the pole - a look that said (to me) that she really liked it.

Thanks for an old memory.

I especially like Tricky Master. Nice ropework, nice struggling, no gloomavision. Great update!

You're welcome. I actually did mention that Ginger merely put her arms over her head, and I couldn't help but notice that. Then again, dark hair is more my thing anyway.

But it too made me wonder...about the character Ginger, or the writer's interest in seeing her tied up. It hadn't occured to me that the actress herself was enjoying the scene, but if she let loose a facial expression that can't be convincingly faked, then she probably was. What Pat Powers might call "under the radar", perhaps.

You gotta admit, putting her hands behind her back is a little gratuitous - after all, it's not a safety procedure that would help them survive the storm!

Mary-Ann from Gilligan (Re: Mister Ed scenes)
I just checked the database for Gilligan's Island scenes and found something else that got my attention. In the episode with the headhunter that ties everyone up, "After everyone has been untied, Mary Ann can be seen holding a loop of the rope."

It makes me wonder, why exactly? I wonder what it is with some women and rope. I remember during my summer job at the pool, one of the female lifeguards absent-mindedly took a rope used to hold up an umbrella and wrapped it around one of her wrists on and off. But I'm drifting off-topic here.

I also noticed this, from the episode in which a movie was being made about the gang's predicament. Gilligan is told to tie Mary-Ann to the stake, and "Mary Ann backs up to the pole, places her hands behind her back (bless her) while the cannibal ties her with a vine."

A willing "victim"!! Think it could be a characteristic of the actress herself?

Couple of scenes in this one, all are described in the database. Godawful movie by the way, but thats an off topic subject.

(The next couple of paragraphs are about bondage related subjects that might not be everyones tastes, so be warned)

One of the Hillside Strangler films (Starring C. Thomas Howell, directed by Chuck Parello) has finished filming and moved into post-production, and the other one (with a smaller budget) is currently filming. It's directed by Chris Fisher) the same guy who did NightStalker.

The first one looks the most likely to have bondage scenes in it, it's supposedly paying close attention to accuracy of recreating the crimes, which involved quite a bit of bondage and gags.

The second one is a more fictionalized account, and is told from Bianchi's psychiatrists point of view, so it is less likely to have anything of interest.

Zevon, Ritter
There is a hostage situation in "Things To Do in Denver..."
(writer: Zevon), unfortunately there is no DID scene.
Is there any DID scene on original book / script?

John Ritter was involved in a classic handcuff joke on
"Three's Company" TV Series. He also rescued Pam Dawber
in "Stay Tuned". Is there any plan for "Three's" rerun?

Exactly. This scene is another reason why I honestly believe that Dawn Wells enjoyed playing role of victim. In both scenes she seems to put her hands behind her back almost instinctively, although as you say in the movie scene she was simply being lashed in order to prevent her from being washed overboard. In such a case, why would the actress even need to pretend that her hands were tied behind her back - its not as if the lasher (in this case Gilligan) was putting her in distress. Ahh Dawn even though you're probably a little grayer these days, I wish you'd make a comeback and get yourself into some sticky situations again.

While the alerts are wonderful & so helpful in grabbing scenes, if possible earlier notice would be most appreciated. I checked here this morning before work & then after work at 5 I saw the alert for this movie today at 3pm (so I missed it). Now I know sometimes a show isn't noticed until nearly the last minute & a late alert certainly cannot be helped, and hopefully a few folks will get the alert in time. However, if at all possible if alerts could be just a BIT sooner.....

For alerts, especially ones posted to this page, you should
assume that the person posted as soon as the information
was known. You have taken the position, with no way of
knowing, that people are deliberately holding back this
information until too late.

That is not reasonable or fair. You should apologize.

The alert left out the significant detail that SECUESTRO airs *tomorrow* at 3PM E/P.

As for posting sooner ... in a situation like this (which actually *wasn't* the situation ... but anyway ...) in which an alert is posted mere hours before a scene is to air, it's almost certain that the poster's just become aware of the fact. It's frustrating to miss them, as was the case for me with SPIDERS 2 recently ... but as the Moderator points out, there's no inconsideration afoot. Folks get to 'em when they can.

1-800-missing nothing tonight
Nothing at all on 1-800-missing. No bondage in the preview for next week's episode either.

You're right...after re-reading it wasn't fair. We should appreciate that we get the alerts at all. My apologies. I was just pissed that I saw the alert too late. Sorry.

But there was a handgag in the preview for next week. I think a convict is hiding out and he handgags a woman while they are both seated/crouching down.

While I was reading the message I posted I realized that I forgot to post the date this movie will air: It's this Sunday 9/14 at 3:00pm ET in Univision.
I apologize for the incomplete information. Next time I'll check the message before I post it.

DB page
Is it possible to restore the original DB page?
Perhaps the FAQ/rules should be put below the 2 links.
For regular user, it's annoying to read the same FAQ
every time the user want to access the DB.
Another idea: separate DB FAQ page.
