I cannot believe that Paula is 29. She looked so young on Clockstoppers. BTW, that movie was a disappointment and I'm glad we had some of us tell us so I didn't throw away 8 bucks. I remember hoping they give her the full treatment but oh well.

Names and stuff
From glancing over at AG, there seems to be some confusion about the recent unpleasantness, that I called some people a pretty bad name. That isn't the case at all.

I did ask if they were stupid or something, but at no
time did I use the term "fucking idiot" or anything like
it that post.

Anyone still confused should reread the original post,
which was on 6/27.

The Fan Club as a stage production?
It occurred to me that Irving Wallace's book "The Fan Club", which never reached fruition as a Hollywood movie, might be better adapted as a play. For one, its main cast is small (Sharon Fields and the four men) and pretty much the entire story takes place within a remote cabin. Most importantly, while a movie might feel obligated to "achieve" its "R"-rating with topless or nude scenes, stage audiences would understand that a scene acted in underwear = nudity. That would expand the list of possible actresses, from those with an objection to doing a significant of nudity. I also feel that while a Hollywood casting would be largely based on Sharon Fields, the 38" sex symbol (Raquel Welch and Bo Derek were among those considered for the movie role), stage casting would be based more on an actress's ability to "carry" the entire play by herself.

Why would a play about a woman outsmarting her four kidnappers have a chance at success? Well, "Extremities", a play about a woman turning the tables on her (single) rapist was a success, and prospective actresses would know that Extremities was the vehicle that launched Farrah Fawcett as a "serious" actress.

The Master of Rain
I just finished reading this book. It is a riveting murder mystery set in 1926 Shanghai, China. The plot concerns an honest police detective attempting to solve a series of brutal and grisly murders, in which the victims are all young expatriate Russian women. They are murdered while handcuffed to a bed. One of the detective's colleagues speculates that the killer muffled their screams with a handgag.

The Hulk, while not quite a flop, is also a box-office disappointment after all the hype. Jennifer Connelly in bondage might have helped.

It honestly wasn't my intention to get you involved with this again. I was just responding to someone else on the subject.

I overreacted and I readily admit to that, and I did paraphrase. However, to be fair, Moderator did use the word "fucking" under the title of "Are you people stupid or something?" and, since I was one of the ones who posted, I don't think it's a big leap in logic to infer "fucking stupid" or idiot. Hell, they're all pretty much ther same to me anyway. Bottom line, however, the blame goes to me on this one for reacting poorly.

Chicago's own Jessi Mccartney could adapt it and star.

That is Linda Stirling from MANHUNT OF MYSTERY ISLAND (1945.) It's a classic scene!

If the classically beautiful Jennifer Connelly got the full treatment in The Hulk, I would have been camping out to see the flick. Alas, no such luck so I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD.
As for Charlie's Angels...the girls are WAAAY OVERRATED!!!I realize we all have different tastes but none of the 3 angels are hotties...they're average looking at best. Lucy is cross-eyed toothpick, Cameron is mediocre, and Drew has something wrong with her face-it always looks crooked like if she has a twitch or something. Plus, the first movie was just AWFUL!!! Easily one of the worst ever made. The scene in the first one wasn't that good IMHO. I mean an unattractive girl with yet another clingy tape gag.

I agree with the premise of your point, but I do think Cameron Diaz is better looking than "mediocre" even though despite several scenes to her credit I don't think she's a great DiD. She is stunning to look it and she's a better actress than the other two.

As for Drew and Lucy, I agree, they're overrated. I also thought Demi Moore was way underused in the movie. She's only shown once in the first hour, then appears in the final 30 minutes.

The main problem was the movie sucked with no storyline and absurd stunts that were simply stupid. I don't think it goes beyond that. Plus, the promos were just showing Cameron's backside and her giggling. You can see that in all her movies, so why pay $9 to see this?

Re: Charlies Angel 2. Flop?

Yeah, if it doesn't have a bondage scene it's a surefire flop; Spiderman, Titanic, ET, the list just goes on and on.

Besides, given that I have read posts that claim that a women with a pencil between her lips "looks" like she has a ponybit gag and a woman with her hands behind her "looks" like she tied up, then CA 2 has two bondage scenes.
Number one is Lucy Liu folded up in a shipping crate at the beginning of the movie and number two is all three of them cast in a plaster frieze in order to get into a stronghold.

I thought the scene in the first one was cute. And Drew Barrymore didn't look bad. I was lucky enough to be able to find a vidclip of it as well as vidcaps.

Cameron is like Charisma Carpenter - past her prime.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Doesn't look promising. Keira isn't even bound when she walks the plank.

Yeah, and by having plenty of bondage, Thieves and Glory Days quickly gained large audiences :). This weekend's numbers look really bad for CA2--doesn't seem likely they'll be a CA3, although Drew Barrymoore is powerful enough to have it made if she wants. Anyway, definitely won't be any meetings at the networks with people saying 'we need a show that capitalizes on this girls/action craze!'

True, but there is one still that's been posted which definitely shows her in the clutches of the pirates, with her hands tied in front. And this week, we'll know if the scene made it into the finished film!

That's right, we do.

The first time I saw Lucy Liu was in Mel Gibson's "Payback", and she's been on my "wish list" ever since.

Speaking of kinky BDSM characters (cf. Lucy in "Payback"), I read a rather funny review of Steven Seagal's new "direct-to-video" release called "Out for a Kill", which evidently features an "...evil S&M lesbian drug trafficking tatoo parlor." You just don't see those enough these days.

Yes, she got a corny old-fashioned chair tie with OTM gag when the family made a silent movie. Jerky, undercranked black and white footage, IIRC, with only passable close-ups, but she did look cute B&G.

It's in the Database; remember that Beverly Hills, unlike Beverley in Yorkshire, has no penultimate "e".

I'm tempted to do the old "cough, cough, (database) cough" bit, but you seem like too nice a guy. Besides, it wouldn't be in keeping with the respectful tone we should address this show with, given that its star Buddy Ebsen passed away today.

Anyway, there are a few scenes with Douglas over there; I'm sure that soon enough someone will identify the one you're looking for among those whose episode titles are listed as unknown.

And hey guys, let's hear it for Ebsen one final time. After all, he helped put nine scenes into the database by my count, even including Cloris Leachman's straitjacketing in the "Beverly Hillbillies" feature film, in which he appeared in a cameo as-cue the "Twilight Zone" theme, please-Barnaby Jones!

Ok, let's wrap this subject up. It's divisive, it's
silly, and it's been done to death.

Aye, in addition to him being a class act, Ebsen's "Barnaby Jones" series included two underrated scenes (IMO): "Anatomy of Fear" with cute Brooke Bundy tape-gagged onscreen ("Sshh!"), then seen tied spread-eagled on her bed; and "Hostage" which started off with Lee Meriwether tape-gagged, blindfolded, and bound onscreen.

Well, you can't just pull words out and stick them
together. Imagine you slung a banana peel on the floor
and somebody slips on. He gets up and yells, "who left
the f*cking banana peel on the floor, are you stupid?"

There is a general profanity for emphasis about the
deed, not the doer. There is a difference, it was not
my intention to call anyone that. It was my intention
to express my extreme displeasure with the ACTIONS of
the people involved.

That's cool. These public blowups actually serve a sort
of purpose, they can clear the air a bit as well as
get things straight.

70's TV Series, Re-run
Hi
After "Charlie's Angels", "Hulk", "Wonder Woman", "Fall Guy",
other 70's series will follow the same path:
* S.W.A.T.
* Starsky and Hutch
* Fantasy Island
* Hart To Hart
* Six Billion Dollar Man.

Will the new retro movie include DID scenes?
Who will play Mrs Hart on the new movie?

Other 70's TV series will have a re-run soon:
* Hunter, A-Team (Local TV)
* Knight Rider (StarWorld Asia)
* Baretta (several DID scenes)
* The Bionic Woman (at least 2 DID scene)
* CHIPS (Sandra K.)
* McCloud, The Gong Show.
Is there any DID scene on McCloud and The Gong Show?
