I mentioned this once before sometime: I saw a documentary once about old soap operas and it showed a clip of June Lockhart bound and gagged on General Hospital. The scene may have been in black and white. From what I remember, it was a good scene. I saw this YEARS ago, before we had a VCR! I have no proof that I saw it, but I know that I did.

Oo-er! A smuggler, a true artist, came up behind Polly, folded soft scarf outstretched. He very deliberately lowered it in front of her face, positioned it so that it covered exactly the space between base of nose and chin, and made the first half of a knot behind her head.

He then pulled this hard from side to side, snuggling the gag into Polly's cheeks while her nose swung like a pendulum through two or three cycles, and completed the knot. The appearance was now as in the later stills.

Unaccountably, the next shot showed the sloppy OTMAN gag seen in the first frame above. I missed the following episode in which Polly and Ben were held in the cellar, and I doubt if anyone will ever see it again.

The OTMAN job shows one thing - gags in movies and TV are often applied offscreen by the nearest available person, who may or may not know what he or she is doing!

The stills, btw, were taken on 35mm film from the TV screen by a private individual who made a living selling them. That's why static scenes are preferred; you need at least 1/25 of a second to get a complete frame scan. Also, as this classic OS gagging was right at the end of the show, the photographer was probably eking his film out, loth to reload and put just a few frames on a new film. He shot the wrong muffle! :-((

according to the IMDB
she was
"General Hospital" (1963) TV Series .... Maria Ramirez (1984-1986, 1988, 1990-1992, 1998)
she was Felicia's Grandmother or something...

I do think I recall a scene....
after looking at everything she's been in she MUST have had a scene in the 50 or sixties
she did SO MANY westerns and thriller type things

Sigh. Excuse the hell out of me o' mighty moderator but I DID NOT attempt to "moderate" your page. I've been around long enough to know better than to even try that.

I suggest (moderately, because I'm a nice, even-tempered sort of guy) that you go back and reread my post. In order to moderate your page, I would need to have told, or at least asked, that someone post, or not post, something.

I did nothing of the sort. I merely pointed out that the subject material was creaky old news (Which it is) and has been throughly discussed already (Which it has).

You need to learn to read, my friend. I moderate nothing. Not here anyway. I merely pointed out some facts about the subject.

Whether you continue to post more or not is entirely between you and the Moderator.

By the end of my initial 30 days, I will have watched/scanned every possible B-Z flick they have available. Normally, I rent maybe 2 movies a month, if that. I have all the movie channels so why bother except for the occasional DVD extras?

So therefore, there's no need to pay $24.99 the next month.

I'm back
I've been moving for about the last two weeks, so I've been busy.
I finally have net access with really, really good upstream (before had 10k, which made uploading caps take goddamn forever), although all ports are blocked below 1024 afaik. I'll be researching this in the next couple of days, might set up a ftp or website.
I'll also be throwing up caps that I promised some folks.

The database reveals two past scenes for Cady McClain. Perhaps someone has caps of these ...

ATWT
Nothing really today on the above soap and it's looking unlikely there's going to be much. Cady Mclain is still locked in the room ungagged. Her wrists are tied to the chair arms with rope but there's no sign that her ankles are tied or not. The scene continues but with her kidnapper and her rescuer both on the scene arguing with each other you have to be a major league opimist to think that anymore is going to develop. I'm speaking as a gag snob.

I caught the end of this today and the guy freed the girl and ran out just before a bomb went off. Seems to me the scenes over.

I got the cleave-gag scene from "All My Children." Very fast and weak and not worth capping or obtaining for any Cady fans, in my view. I didn't even find her to be attractive in that scene. It absolutely amazes me sometimes how these actresses get hotter as they get older. I remember Cady as Dixie on "AMC" for years but never really thought she was that great until she turned up on "ATWT" last year. Didn't even realize it was Cady until I saw her bio on the Web site. Of course, she always had permed hair on AMC and her clothing style was modest to say the least, where now it's longer and straight and she's wearing killer outfits.

Unfortunately, no help from Allen Marburger's book, as there are no entries for June Lockart.

Sure doesn't that to me. Commenting on other's posts
in an unapproving manner is not welcome.

It was discussed approximately six months back, for a
total of about three or four posts. Did you really
expect this person to search that far back? That's
ridiculous. I don't want people running searchs through
the past year's worth just to see if it might have
been talked about previously.

You were in the wrong.

I'm curious too, as I only recall one with her. Either
one slipped by me or we have two entries for the same
scene with some creep in one of them.

This was one of the worst kidnappings/tieup scenes in a long time on a soap. I'd say it was even worse than if she had just been locked in a room because if they wasted tying up Cady. Now it'll be a year or more until she ends up in another perilous predicament.

Closing time (but with reopening time coming soon)
As I informed my members and guests just now, with minor editing for context...
--

So here's the short version: Raffish DiDClips is closing down temporarily, but I'll be back in not too long with a new host, some great new features, and one other new project about which I'm pretty excited.

As for the long version...

I'd hoped to make the transition between Raffish 1.0 and Raffish 2.0 a bit more seamless. However, some hardware problems, a temporary shortage of raw material to clip, and the major development effort that the new site will require, have combined to convince me that I'd be endangering my sanity if I were to attempt to keep the current site going full-steam while I work on the new one. I think it's best for all concerned if I simply crawl into my cave for a while, work some magic behind the scenes, and emerge with something shiny and new.

The current site will remain open until approximately September 15. I wish everyone at abductor.com all the best. It's been an entertaining three-year run, and I couldn't have done it without them. I've simply concluded that my new host's plans dovetail better with my own at this point.

As for the new site, I'm happy to announce that the good folks at bindher.com and I have been in discussion for a while now, and we've got some pretty cool plans. I'm currently hard at work entering my entire library of almost 1500 clips into a customized database (yikes!). In the end, the site will go from being simply browsable to fully searchable. (As some members will undoubtedly agree, with that many clips on the site, trying to find that one particular scene by browsing was starting to become a bit cumbersome.) Just as with Brian's database, you'll soon be able to search Raffish DiDClips by actress, title, medium, and even elements of the scene.

As for membership terms, Bindher and I have agreed to keep the subscription cost no higher than the cost for the current site. I'll continue to provide weekly updates of 4-8 free clips -- and the "Jay L. Collection" of clips and caps will also remain totally free.

Thanks to everyone who has supported my efforts over the years. The best is yet to come. If you have any questions, comments, or inquiries about the status of the new site, feel free (as always) to contact me.

P.S. As for the other new project, one word: DVDs. But more on that as the time draws near...

Raffish:

No, thank YOU! Your site has been a godsend for clean, tightly-edited clips. You've also saved me from buying or renting so-so titles with your clips/caps, and encouraged a few purchases as well. I've yet to join as a paying customer, but when you get the new site up and running, I promise to get my butt in gear and fork over a few bucks this time. The price is more than fair, and I recently perused the list of available clisp for members. Definitely worth the money.
See you in a few weeks, I guess.
