This is actually the SECOND time I've seen a gag like that, the Adderly "Year of the Tiger" episode being the first.
I dunno, maybe she was annoying the captors with with disapproving sniffles, and they decided to put a stop to it. haha

Actually, Anubis, the blindfolded lady in question is Katy Boyer from "Vengeance Unlimited", in the episode titled "Justice".

Well in the actor's defense, he did appear to try and pull it down a little. In the charater's defense, the gag wasn't really important at that moment. The rest of the people are back at the temple, and he is only talking on the phone to the guy that ordered her kidnapping, so her yelling for help wouldn't be a problem. Talk to the evil hand then go back and fix it. (I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thought it looked like a mustache)

Interesting 'Goof' at IMDB:

"Continuity: Near the climax of the film, Sarah Purcell and her roommates are gagged and tied hand and foot by the villain. Sarah Purcell hops in stocking feet to a sliding glass door and hurls herself through it to attract attention. When a neighbor breaks in, she is lying on the balcony, her feet now untied and no binding in sight."

Actually, I caught one while watching Cold Heart. In the scene where Natassia Kinski is tied and tape gagged, the gag is put on crooked. If you pay close attention, you'll note that it goes one way sideways across her lips in one shot, but a couple of shots later it's going the other way!

Demonlover
I remeber a string a few months ago about this movie's bondage merit but was not familiar with it at the time. I finally got around o renting it from work the other night and didn't understand what the fuss was about. Someone was even saying it should be nominated for a bondage cannon. I really didn't even notice much bondage aside from quick flashes and the anime section. Maybe I just don't really understand the requirements of the cannon award. Could someone tell me?

You blow up useless videos with a cannon if the bondage doesn't pan out.

As this threadlet has survived a whole day, I think I shall risk contributing to it.

The sound represented by the letters "ph" or "f" is a labio-dental consonant, made by passing air between the upper teeth in contact with the lower lip. The only kinds of gag that would permit such an action are a thin cleave and a very poorly adhered tape gag.

The first part, "mmm", requires that the lips be fully closed, and the vocal chords vibrating. The sound emerges through the nose. Only a well-sealed tape or adhesive-backed OTM gag, or a firm handgag, would allow this sound.

We don't actually have letters to transcribe most of the muffled sounds made by a person wearing a thick cleave, packed OTM or ball gag, but if the oral cavity is clear behind a tape gag or OTM, many of the consonants can be pronounced internally, and even recognised.

With "mmmph" generally accepted (if inaccurate in most cases) as the sound made by a gagged person, I suppose it must remain. I wouldn't care to try to coin any other generic term!

I don't see why you shouldn't. The sounds that are made by various familiar animals (e.g., Dog, cat, cow, rooster, duck, etc.) differ quite a bit between languages.

Sin City
The September 3rd USA Today newspaper (the last issue at the $.50 price) notes in its "Weekend" section page 1E that "Sin City" (starring Jessica Alba as stripper Nancy Callahan, who is kidnapped by a psycho and must be rescued by retiring cop Bruce Willis) is due in theaters April 1.

Yeah, it's similar to scenes where one moment it's a detective gag and the next, it's a cleave gag.

I loved the " uber loosey " gag from a Dark Shadows from way back when.

After the knot at the back of her head came undone, the damsel had to bite down on the cloth to stop it falling out.

Even one of her wrist ropes almost fell off.

Bloody amateurs !

For DB entries, I usually just say something like
"muffled cries".

Not very exciting, but easier to search on. There's no
set spelling for mmmmph.

I tend toward "vocalizing/-zation".

True ... but searching on "mmm" should fish 'em out without any attendant flotsam. On the off chance that a minimalist chose to go with just two "m"s, plugging in "mmp" would snag those permutations.

Wow! That is the funniest gag I've ever seen. Thanks for that. I love the "B" side of bondage. It makes the good stuff so much better.

I'm the one who suggested DemonLover for the bondage canon, and it actually has quite a bit of bondage imagery in it, to wit:

Connie Nielsen in a hood with hands cuffed behind her back being driven around in a car

Connie Nielson in a gimp suit, her hands secured behind her back, her collar chained to the wall

Various nameless women in bondage briefly seen on the Demonlover site

A woman in a Wonder Woman costume seen more extensively chained spreadeagled to a steel bedframe and apparently subjected to electric shock torture.

Several fairly lengthy clips of a naked, bound and gagged anime heroine mounted on a horse with a dlldo mounted on it, then several shots of her, still naked bound and gagged, tossed into a pool where she struggles to remain afloat while shocked by electric eels

I'd say that's a fair amount of bondage for a mainstream film, though I will grant that you could reasonably expect more from a film about a firm that maintains a BDSM website and also is buying 3D hentai from a Japanese firm.

As for the bondage canon, it's not really an award. It's really just a list of films that everyone agrees you ought to see or books you ought to read or paintings you ought to view if you want to lay claim to being knowledgeable about the particular genre you're talking about. Being considered a part of canon is a big deal, but beyond a few basics, most folks tend to argue endlessly about what should and shouldn't be on the canon.

I've written a review of Demonlover that runs about 5,000 words and will have it up on my site soon. It makes a better argument for why I think Demonlover is worthy of canon. Also, it'll have caps.
