New Stacey Dash full treatment scene

I just posted a new DB entry for the film GANG OF ROSES, which features Stacey Dash's second-ever full treatment scene. Her first came in the Richard Pryor comedy MOVING, in which she is bound to a pole in the basement and tape-gagged to prevent her from disrupting the family's attempt to sell the house and move far away. In GANG OF ROSES, she plays one of five African-American ladies who make up a group of 19th century bank robbers. She's captured and set to be hanged, and she mouths off to the lawmen and receives a tight white cleave gag as she's being prepared for execution. There are several close-ups of her gagged face in this sequence. When the door opens, she dangles for a moment or two before the rope is severed by a friendly gunshot from afar. She drops to the ground, frees herself and makes her getaway on the horse of one of her fellow robbers. Happens around the 30-minute mark. Great scene IMO, especially since I think Stacey Dash is one of the best-looking African-American actresses in the business. One more thing: There's a nice faux gag scene of sorts at the 75-minute mark. The ladies plan a heist and there are close-ups of them in their robber masks, which are exquisite looking black and silk scarves. These are tremendous OTN gags for those who can use their imagination or are looking for good fake material.

Similar infuritaing scene on "One Life to Live" in the early 1990s. Holly Gagnier, who played one of the many Cassies, was being held by a thug who was planning to bolt. She says "just leave me here. Tie me up, gag me." He passed. Infuriating.

SAW
The movie SAW has extensive scenes, male and female. Chains, duct tape, cleave gagged mother and daughter, ropes, lingering close ups, elaborate death traps, the works. I didn't get all the actresses names, or I'd add it to the scene database. Some fairly gory scenes in this movie too, so you might not want to watch it "just" for the bondage scenes, but it's a good movie if you could handle, say SE7EN.

The Food Network???
File this one under 'Unlikely Sources of DiD Scenes'.

Rachael Ray has a new show debuting next Friday (Nov 5th). It's entitled "Inside Dish With Rachael Ray" (9-9:30 PM, check your local listings) & is a celebrity cooking show. So what? The first guest chef is Dennis Franz, & as seen in Food Network commercials *&* on page 76 of the Nov 5th issue of "Entertainment Weakly" (Sir Elton John is on the cover)... they pull the ol' have the "cop" handcuff the perky hostess bit! I'm sure it'll be over in a flash, but Rachael's cute as the proverbial bug, so it'll be worth watching. Also, I really like crab cakes! :-)

If you don't know Rachael Ray... if Rachael, Samantha Brown, & Paige Davis ever met at Nicole de Boer's house for a slumber party, this entire spiral arm of the galaxy would collapse into a black hole of perky cuteness.

I like to second that emotion, i recall a high DID content in spidey from the seventies, possibly even more than listed in the database though might just be my extreme old age getting the better of me!

I fear that the chance of a DVD release as great as that would be for us is pretty remote because DID content aside the show was PONY!I thought that someone like the SCI-FI channel might pick it up when the first film aired but no alas i feel it's not going to see the light of day again.

On the subject of gags as a cop-out...
...or, perhaps more precisely, a substitute for explicitly-shown bondage, I've got to agree there's something to it. A scene I recently came across really brought the point home, and thus instantly came to mind when this topic came up: the 1996 TV-remake of "In Cold Blood," Truman Capote's account of the 1959 Clutter family murders in western Kansas. As many of you of my vintage or older recall, Robert Blake famously portrayed killer Perry Smith in the original 1967 film adaptation of Capote's book. You may also recall his hogtying the mother and daughter (Ruth Storey and Brenda Currin, respectively), and I'm sure your second-most vivid memory of the movie-after the hanging scene at the end, of course-was the look of abject terror on the ungagged Currin's face, shown in close-up, as the rest of her family was shotgunned to death one by one-and she realized the killers had saved her for last.

Fast-forward three decades, and you'd think there'd be more explicitly shown bondage in another version of the same story, wouldn't you (even though the latter film was made for network television as opposed to a theatrical release)? Well, you'd be wrong. Although fellow killer Dick Hickock's attempted rape of the daughter (played here by Margot Finley) is somewhat more graphic, Eric Roberts as Smith is shown only tying the daughter this time, and that only briefly. In this retelling, the mother (Gillian Barber) is left for last-and all we see of her is a closeup of her tape-gagged face as the shots ring out. She wasn't shown being tied up, begging for her children's lives, as was Storey.

And you've got to wonder why, if actresses, scriptwriters, and directors have never really intended to use cloth or tape as a way around getting out the rope, our database is so full of "gagged but not bound" instances like Barber's above. Heck, even Noel Neill-NOEL NEILL!-bailed on us once. What was that episode where the bad guys lured her into a car on some pretext, only to cleave-gag her as she screamed once she realized she'd been hoodwinked? Then she shows up sitting next to one of the baddies on a plane, still gagged but obviously not bound.

I think we can agree to give Neill a pass, though, considering how much else she did for us. I mean, they had to let her take a break to recover from those rope burns SOMETIME, didn't they?

SAW

As someone here said (I think), and as the Yahoo clips clearly show, Shawnee Smith is definitely in bondage in this film. Not sure whether or not Monica Potter and/or any other actress is also, though the poster above seems to indicate it. Hope so.

Mother and Daughter DinDs

Since this topic seems to come up occasionally, thought I'd list some mother and daughter DiDs not mentioned in the last discussion (check the database for specifics, of course none are in the same scenes): Mona Freeman and Monie Ellis, Anne Archer and Marjorie Lord, Ann Sothern and Tisha Sterling, Jayne Mansfield and Mariska Hargitay. Whitney Frost and Meredith Baxter Birney *might* have qualified but I'm not aware that WF ever had a scene (she might have, just not aware of it). A great "missed opportunity" was Sheila MacRae and Meredith MacRae...oh well. Btw Sarah Purcell is still alive, not doing much in show business DiD or otherwise.

Halloween
Does anyone besides me love this time of year? All those old horror movies get dusted off and rerun..there just seems to be a huge incremental chance of catching some good mainstream bondage. I haven't caught Elvira yet but I'm still hoping she'll show up tonight somewhere..sorry but I think she's very sexy and not unwilling to put on some ropes on occasion.

Yes! and it sounds like a good one. Roll the vcr on this one.
From devotedtosmallville.com spoilers page:

4.07 "Jinx" (Air Date 11/03/2004)

The WB's Official Description - DC COMIC VILLIAN MXYZPTLK TRIPS UP SMALLVILLE - Chloe (Allison Mack) is drawn into an underground gambling ring at school run by foreign exchange student Mikail Mxyzptlk (guest star Trent Ford) and loses her savings on a football game after Mxyzptlk uses his powers to control all the players – including Clark (Tom Welling). When Chloe discovers Mxyzptlk’s secret, he kidnaps her and threatens to kill her unless Clark throws the championship game. Meanwhile.......
......During possibly the Championship game, Mikail gets Clark’s attention by carrying Chloe’s press pass. Clark calls a timeout. Jason says “Are you out of your mind? You just blew our last time out.” Clark grabs Mikail and asks where Chloe is. Mikail threatens “If you want to see her alive you should make sure the Crows lose this game…You walk off this field, Chloe dies. You make touchdown and Chloe dies.”

Jason then calls Clark back to the game. Clark scans the crowd to see what Mikail’s done to Chloe. He then uses his superhearing and drowns out the crowd, band, etc. He hears her screaming for “Help” through her taped mouth. Then he uses his X-ray vision to see through some sort of metal. He calls for Crozer to help him make a play on the field.

And after that:
4.08 "Spell" (Air Date 11/10/2004)

The WB's Official Description - A WITCH HUNT IN SMALLVILLE - After Lana (Kristin Kreuk) reads from a spell book written in the 1600s, she, Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack) become possessed by witches that had been burned at the stake. The three witches have come back seek revenge and search for the powerful Kryptonian crystals, wreaking havoc on the town in the process.

Another one to watch for:
4.10 "Scare" (Airdate - TBA)

There’s an explosion at the Luthorcorp Plant. Lex talks with Otis Ford, project manager. Employees lie unconscious because they were infected with a “toxin we’re developing for the military that invokes people’s worst nightmares” and puts them into a state of panic.

Chloe’s been infected. She sees a woman in a straight jacket. Chloe recognizes her eerie voice and says “Mom?” The woman says “You can’t escape it. None of the women in our family ever have.” The woman is a gaunt version of Chloe. She screams and then realizes she is in a straight jacket herself.

Actually no, I don't think they contractually had to give her a break to let the rope burns heal. And when she was gagged on the plane wasn't she buckled up per FAA regulation? Could be scene creep on my part. But seriously yes there is nothing negative to say about Noel Neill..she gave many of us old timers some good memories.

Young & Restless -Monday's U.S. episode
I mangaged to catch the last half of the 'day ahead' episode of Y&R afer seeing Vince Gray's alert...the handgag scene must be in the first half - hour as I didn't see it. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) confronts a guy in his motel room - he holds her at gunpoint, forces a kiss on her, throws her on a bed, but there is no b&g action, sorry to report.

Music Video Possibility
Here's a description of a new video by a band called Dillinger Escape Plan:

Rows of studio lights pierced the pizzeria's naturally dark, wooden interior. Flames licked in the wood-burning oven and next to it, a hairdresser spent hours applying makeup to the young woman who played the video's damsel in distress.

The concept is simple, Resteghini explained to the band. Dillinger is performing in the dining area, while on opposite sides of the bar sit the damsel and her psycho stalker. While the band plays, the psycho kidnaps her and drives off his van. But as he is speeding away, he spies Dillinger in his side mirror. Guilt overcomes him. He lets the girl go. The end.

Theatre Play in Denver
Has anyone from Denver seen this? It plays at the Space Theatre (wherever that is) thru November 13. Here's a description from the Denver Post.

“Dirty Story” is really two plays, the first being the chess game between lovers, which grows tedious. As Wanda, young Susan Pourfar is a bit out of her league dancing with John Hutton, who digs deep into his considerable bag of tricks, which apparently now includes comic masochism.

Shanley uses the classic 1914 silent movie “The Perils of Pauline” as his backdrop (the film about the perpetual damsel in distress plays on the stage floor upon the audience’s arrival). Brutus challenges his novice novelist to look from outside herself at the characters she writes. Soon she is donning a wig and submitting to being tied to a wooden ladder (brilliantly conveying railroad tracks).

Brutus then sports Jeffrey Dahmer garb and a power saw, and the rest must simply be seen to be believed. The lurid and violent shift in tone threatens to turn the evening into a macabre sexual diatribe. Instead Wanda’s knight in white satin (and billowy frills) bursts in from the cellar floor to save the day. But danger has lit a fire in Wanda’s belly. Brutus has unleashed a woman so self-possessed he will soon regret having toyed with her.
Not from Denver or anywhere near there

Damsel was duct-taped cleave-gagged and handcuffed to the bedpost in the final minutes of "Missing" on Saturday. Only saw the final 30 minutes, so don't know if there was anything earlier. Damsel was roughed up a bit and not very attractive, IMO.
