Friday October 15 01:27:29 2004 Veronica Mars. |
I would say, after viewing it., this series is promising. Veronica is basically a Hip, Full of Teenage Angst, Nancy Drew. The show is sturctured like BTVS:One major mystery/adventure for Veronica that will take place over the whole season but lots of indepedent advntures also. The chances are pretty good, IMHO, that Veronica will , if the series stays on, encoutner ropes and gags somewhere along the line. And Kirsten Bell, who plays Veronica, will make a lovely DID.
And, Like Buffy, the show is worth watching on it's own, non DID merits. |

The ratings have been pretty poor thus far, but hopefully UPN will ride it out for a full season as opposed to putting some stupid reality show on that will likely do worse ratings. Also on the ratings front, "LAX" could be in trouble. Last Monday's show did a 5.5, where as "Las Vegas" an hour earlier did a solid 7.9. That's a big dropoff for NBC to stomach. |

Friday October 15 03:45:49 2004 my blindfold rant |
this is an answer to my anti-gag, pro blindfold rant that got move to the discussion page. let me apologize for the somewhat hostile tone. i was more than a little fed up by reading these things over a period of months, and add one bad mood after a long day, and i blew off some steam.
i am replying here to some posts over on the discussion page. essentially, my point was that i think we should be respectful of each other's kinks. some of the gag stuff id seen lately was very virulently anti-blindold, and i felt i needed to respond. nonetheless, we should all reemember that this discussion is ultimately about aesthetics, and as such, there can be no absolutes. i am going to answer a couple posts from the other page here. feel free to move them back over to the discussion page if ou feel it is inappropriate. i will have to do it in a couple other posts, as i keep getting bounced if i try to do one giant one, so, if youre interested, read the next couple. if not, feel free to skip and go one looking for your fave kinky stuff here obliv |

well, the forum is incorrectly accusing me of posting in the annoying top heavy style (whicjh i wasnt) so my long winded posts werent going to be accepted
anyway, ill just respond in general to chris: chris, i dont care if, as you claim, "MOST PEOPLE" are really into gags and mmmpphing. i am not running for president of bondageland. i dont care who likes what or how many people they are. i dont like gags. i like blindfolds. some people got frustrated on this board and attacked gags, and i responded, in kind, to give them a taste of their own medicine. since they apologized , they seem to have taken it as intended. however, when you say things like "gags are just more attarctive than blindfolds"...why in the world would you tru and use this as pewrsuasion. you keep quoting what seem like statistics...you referred to MOST PEOPLE liking gags and mmmppphhing and all that...well, strictly put, MOST PEOPLE dont care...see MOST PEOPLE arent into DID... im sure there are alot of people who like gags. there mus be, to sustain the amount of material available relating to them. that doesnt make them better or superior. it just makes them more popular...and that does not matter one iota. when you say things like "gags are just more attarctive than blindfolds", to a guy like me, what do you thin my reaction will be? well it is this...you are 110% absolutely stone cold dead in the water wrong. this is not a FACT...this is an OPINION. mine is JUST as valid as yours, and when you are speaking to me, it is MORE valid. the tone of your post was very brazen anad attacking, as if you were going to PROVE something to me...well, you wont. i was tired of my kink being attacked. i defended it. it was never my stated or implied opinion to " do away" with gags. i could care less about gags. i hope you gag fans get all the gags you can take, and more. i do have a problem when you guys want to do away with blindfolds. see, my side was attacked first, so you cant throw that gauntlet down. if you dont want my opinion on this, dont be so disrespectful in offering yours. tapemaster and the other person (i cant remember the name, sorry) very respectfully aplogized. all is forgiven. i an live with gags. i have for years...but for hevens sake, let me have my thing too. you did nothing to prove the superiotity of gags, chris. you did not sway me one bit, and since the apparent point of your post was to prove me wrong, that means you failed. you drove no point home to me except what a bad debater you are. to everyone else, i apologize for this long winded response. to chris, just let it drop. you are free to have your gags. just let me have my blindolds, with no verbal attack on my kink. i believe we all can just get along obliv |

Friday October 15 06:04:11 2004 P.S.I. Luv You |
Speaking of grails, look who I found! I know somebody was asking for this cutie a month or two ago. Well, I finally had occasion to scan some old tapes and came across her. You know, they sure loved using cotton balls and tape on P.S.I. Luv You. We have a quick summary portrayed below. First she spits out her cotton balls, then she mouths off and gets them put back in and finally a strip of tape. Me rikey!
I rather like this scene. You have to suspend disbelief a bit to buy the fact that the incredibly small, thin piece of tape would keep her lips sealed. Good thing I am an expert at suspending disbelief. Aside from that, very cute girl and a bit of a golden oldie by now as far as scenes go. If somebody would like to host the clip, I made one (it’s just under 5 mb). I would host it myself but my site is back in full swing now and I just can’t spare the bandwidth. Incidentally, what was the actress name on this? I looked briefly in the database but couldn’t come up with it. I would appreciate it if somebody would clue me in. |

---- Rebecca Staab, according to the Scene Database. I also didn't get any records on my first search (due to the unusual punctuation on the series title), so changed to search just on "Luv". |

I don't have anything specific to reference. I read that the orginal scene was in the movie but as I said, I only saw the edited TV version. Since you saw the original that certainly puts that to rest. Promotional stills are a very poor substitute but they are better than nothing. |

Friday October 15 11:20:23 2004 Re: old soap scenes |
>>>>>A question for the veterans out there. Were the soap
scenes from the 70's better.<<<<< Overall, the 70's didn't offer much in the way of soap bondage, especially gag scenes. A few lost gems here and there, but not many. I remember Deidre Hall frustrating me as an early "ungagable". The 80's were a whole different story. Right about the time VCR's became moderately affordable (Under $500) the soaps underwent several big changes. New ones were added, and most went to a hour long. Budgets were greatly increased as well. With all that extra air time and money, the writers went nuts with all sorts of wacky plots and locations. This led to all manner of soap females getting bound and gagged, sometimes days, even weeks, at a time. The gags were as varied as the actresses, and any show, at any time, could produce a scene. That frequency caused a dilemma. In the 80's, there were no internet "spoilers" and no soap had daily previews. Most of us could barely afford one VCR, much less the 3 needed to catch every soap. so you kinda had to guess. There was no SoapNet either, so if you missed a scene due to pre-emption (For years I missed the famous GH trifecta scene due to a fucking space shuttle launch.) you were screwed. This "golden age" went on until about the mid-90's, when things began to slow down. Some soaps were canceled and there was a trend away from the goofy plots by most soaps. Things have picked back up some, but I don't think we'll ever see it as good as it was. |

How about Toni Tennille, bound and gagged in a comedy sketch from the short-lived 70's "Captain And Tennille" variety show?

Friday October 15 16:41:24 2004 A Twist |
Record number: 10830
Title: Suspense aka Sasupensu Medium: TV Series Actress: Yumi Adachi Description: Episode: unknown It aired on 2004.05.12: Yumi Adachi is lying on the ground in a building (mid-closeups and closeups); she is wearing a blue jeans-jacket. Her hands are tied behind her back, and most probably her feet are also tied (kidnap scenario). She is tightly cleave-gagged with a pink bandanna; in the next scene, she is sitting in the same predicament, struggling. In the third (and last) scene, she is again lying on the ground, this time on her back, tied and gagged as before, but now also blindfolded with white tape. Again with closeups. __________________________ Don't think there's been a DinD gagged with a cleave and blindfolded with tape. It's usually a cloth blindfold with a tape gag. |

There's a new PC game out called Evil Genius. Below is a URL to a review of it at CNN. Here are some highlights:
"The first order of business is to build a secret underground base on an island. This lair will eventually house everything from holding cells with interrogation chairs and torture devices (for captured agents)..." "...your minions can steal valuable art, kidnap pop stars for ransom and recruit new henchmen..." "...you have access to dozens of silly traps for unsuspecting intruders, including drop-down gas chambers and electrical currents that zap enemies into next week. It's also fun to watch your men try and fight super agents such as the martial arts expert, Jet Chan, or the Amazonian, Marlana Mamba, whose beauty can distract your band of villains..." Please, if anyone tries this game out, be sure to let us know if there's anything deserving of our interest...or even if there isn't. |

The VHS format did not even begin until around 1976. There was no way for mainstream bondage collectors like ourselves to communicate. "Bondage Life" with its "Bound for Hollywood" column did not begin until around 1978. We are aware of only a few scenes from before the 80s (and they are mostly from the LATE 70s.) We have NO IDEA what happened before that (in the 70s, the 60s, or the 50s.) Are there any people here who were watching soap operas on a REGULAR BASIS before the age of VCRs? |

So, what are the earliest soap opera scenes that we are aware of? Like I have said a few times before, I once saw a documentary or a newsmagazine story (or something like that) that showed a clip of a black and white bound and gagged scene for (I think) June Lockhart. However, I am not POSITIVE that it was her and I am not sure what soap it was. Other than that, I think that the earliest soap scene that I am aware of is Frances Fisher in "The Edge of Night" and that is from (I think) 1979! |

Hmmm...let me see. The only one that comes to mind is an oldie-"Once Upon a Honeymoon" from 1942.
The incomparable Natasha Lytess-you all remember Natasha Lytess, don't you?-plays a maid in a German hotel who comes to clean up American newlywed Ginger Rogers' room. Trouble is, her dearly beloved is a Nazi-and the Gestapo sorta don't cotton to them intermarryin' with them highfalutin' Americans. When they call upon her to tell her so, she retires to her bedroom, where she's joined by Lytess, who offers to help her give the masterracers the slip-and, in fact, ends up in one, tied to a chair and gagged while Rogers strolls past der Fuehrer's finest in Lytess' maid's uniform. You don't see any tying on-screen, but the implication is clear, especially when Lytess breaks into a wry smile as one of the Jerries pulls off the gag. The flick shows up on TCM every now and then. Keep your eyes peeled for it. If your tastes run to something newer, there was Alicia Silverstone doing the whole number on herself in "Excess Baggage" a few years back. And I just thought of another more recent one-Joanna Heimbold in "The Sex Monster." Again, you don't see Mariel Hemingway doing the binding on-screen, but the line she says when it's done is priceless: "There you go-tied up and gagged. What's next?" |

Friday October 15 21:47:38 2004 Re: Willingly bound and gagged, eh? |
An early episode of the 1950s British Robin Hood TV series featured Maid Marian (Bernadette O'Farrell) being chained to wall rings and detective gagged by Robin, after she had released him from the same predicament(minus the gag).
She suggested the tie-up to allow Robin to escape, and smiled as he gagged her. Quote: "You must tie me up and bind me, Robin." Tautological, but what a line to hear from a lady of Ms O'F's beauty. :-) When guards arrived and pulled her gag down, she pretended to be very angry at their incompetence. This may still be available on video. The database entry, saying that Marian was captured and tied up by the bad guys, is incorrect, IIRC; she was actually a guest at the castle. I've posted notes to the corrections page. |

I vaguely recall the show. As I recall... (it's been a while) ...theshow had a recurring skit about the adventures of The Bionic Watermelon. (I'm *not* kidding.) Anyhoo, Toni is kidnapped by a couple of generic stuntman villains. She's tied to a chair with rope, her torso lashed to the chair & her wrists to the chair's arms. She was gagged with an OTM white cloth. As the bad guys menaced her, she rolled her eyes, m'mmpfhed, & did a memorable job of selling her plight. :-) The Bionic Watermelon beats up the villains, rescues Toni, & they make out. :-) I confess I carried a serious torch for Toni, back in the day. I'm still looking for the Whiz Kids scenes and I have to whittle down the Caravan to Vaccares clip down to manageable size (probably by making it two clips) but I have posted some video clips I ran across in my search at my Yahoo Group. There is Priscilla Barnes in American Girls, Sheila Larken (I had a major crush on her) in the Incredible Hulk, and Peggy Boucher in The Streets of San Francisco.
Give me some feedback (but remember these are from OLD tapes, in some cases nearly 30 years old). I will put up clips from that era at my Yahoo Group, and I added a bunch of stills to my site. Oh yea, willingly bound, the best I've seen is Valerie Hobson in "Tonight at 8:30.'' Playful and sexy, and when it was a Broadway play she got bound and gagged eight times a week counting matinees. Joan ... from Dynasty redid it several years ago, but she just doesn't do it for me. (probably why I can't recall her name at the moment). |

Friday October 15 23:14:59 2004 Third Watch: alert! |
I was just flipping through the channels and caught the "next week on Third Watch" promo, which featured a nice close-up of a woman who was tape gagged. I've never seen this show, so I don't know what exactly was going on, but the promo voice guy was saying something about a serial killer and draining his victim's blood as they showed the tape-gagged damsel. I believe it airs next Friday. |

Incidently, I remember when I first saw this scene (I rented it soon after it came out on video) I thought how unique the gags were, especially Pam Gidleys' gag. I think it was a typical knotted cleave but it was two cloths tied together & the knot that held them together was what went into her mouth (it coused the ends of the cloth to hand out & down her chin, which I thought was kinda cute). I've since seen that type gag several times but this was the first time. Which gets me thinking, how many folks remember the first time they saw a particular type of gag or bondage technique? I remember the first time I ever saw a cleave gag was the old "Land of the Giants" scene with Deanna Lund in the drain pipe. I remember seeing this when it aired in the, what late 60's? Anyway, the only gag type I"d ever seen before was the good old OTM, and I remember thinking "how weird, the gag went between her teeth instead of over her mouth!". Funny how a person remembered little tidbits of info like that! I also recall the first time I ever saw a gag with packing...it wasn't on a TV show but in the drugstore on an old Detective Magazine cover (the girl is handing suspended by her arms & legs, like a sack of potatoes and had a thin cloth holding in a wadded up cloth...I'm sure some of you probably remember the cover to which I'm referring!). I had by this time in my life seen the "stuff gag" on occassion, but never it being held in the mouth by another cloth, remember thinking "how cool, now she can't spit it out!" |
