Good flick, but not much bondage except one decent onscreen handcuffing and carried over the shoulder scene towards the end of the film.

Naturally, I know you understand the limits, it was a

No, I haven't been on a movie set. I'm guessing the director would be more pissed at the actor/ actress for NOT indicating something had gone wrong rather than keeping quiet about it and perhaps making extra work later when the scene may need to be reshot.

You may be right with some directors being that way, though.

Sweet Valley High
Does anyone know if the episode called, "Promotional Rescue" features a bondage scene.
I checked the database and its not there but someone posted a while back that there was a scene where the twins were tied up in a tent. This episode, according to TV TOME, contains a camping trip. Could someone clarify that is does before I waste money on the DVD.
I mean, the twins were hot, but the show itself blows.
Thanks.

It was more of a babysitting thing like when Kelly Bundy got tied by kids she was watching...

only one twin (Brittany) was tied up in a tent with another girl.

The tent was inside a big room with lots of lil kids.

They both had toy arrows stuck to their foreheads, their hands were tied in front, and they were tied to each other back to back seated.

If I recall they had done something wrong (shoplifting maybe)and part of the punishment was looking after all the rowdy kids.

it was a quick scene at the very end of the eppy but it was cute

The character that Jessica Alba is playing in the movie Sin City is a full grown stripper in the comic too. I believe you were thinking of a different storyline than "Yellow Bastard". Alba's character is for sure nicely cleave gagged in the comic, and since they are being faithful enough that even her strippers outfit matches the one drawn in the comic, I have high hopes here. Unfortunately, the one concession they made for Jessica is her outfit does not require her to be topless.

By the way, most of the Sin City comics have also been released as graphic Albums. Which means they are probably still in print and available to be ordered if anyone wants to spend a few bucks and get their own copy. I cannot remember if yellow bastard has its own volume or is part of another. To my memory, when it was released in comic form it was several issues long, so I'm thinking its a stand alone graphic novel but I could be remembering wrong. I do have it somewhere, but can't lay my hands on it right now.

Re: Sin City
Poster girl Jessica Alba plays a less-angelic role

Frank Miller has always been known for his dark comic images. But he may get a new reputation when the poster for the film adaptation of his Sin City hits theater showcases.

Already, the poster is selling well on the Internet, where teen boys are finding Miller's twisted graphic novel more accessible, thanks to Jessica Alba.

Alba, former star of TV's Dark Angel, plays stripper Nancy Callahan, who is kidnapped by a psycho and must be rescued by a retiring cop played by Bruce Willis. The film is due in theaters April 1.

"I had no idea that the comic was so dark until I started reading the script," says Alba, 23, who is also in next year's Fantastic Four. "I thought, 'Wow, this is so deep. I want to explore that dark side.' "

Which is all fine and good until you see the poster, which doesn't show Alba's dark side so much as her sexy side.

"I was pretty surprised when I saw it," she says. "They just took a shot from the movie. But I do play a stripper, so it's accurate."

Sin City
If Nancy is cleave-gagged in the graphic novel, she WILL be gagged in the movie. The entire hook of this flick is that Rodriguez is doing a literal adaptation of the series, so much so that you can compare exact panels to stills from the film. Anything that gets cut will allegedly be inserted into the DVD release so that you can see an entire comic played out onscreen.

The bad news is, Miller's work is very noir-ish, with lots of rain and black and white technique. I hope Alba's scene isn't tarred by overt use of shadow or CGI technique. From what I understand, this flick was shot entirely against greenscreen with no sets.

Some time this week spanish soap Infierno en el Paraiso when the girl is getting gagged she opens her mouth and we can see marshmellows or cotton on the left side of her mouth to give the appearance of a swollen face, pay close attention as she moves the stuff around her mouth to accomodate the scarf.

Haven't we heard this theory before with recent movies only to see it go up in smoke? "Chainsaw Massacre" and "Kill Bill" come to mind as well as a few others. Weren't the leads supposed to be B&G in those movies, with the writers supposedly being true to the originals/books?

Let me try again -

The whole idea behind this project is to perform a literal translation of the comic series. Rodriguez looks at the panels and then animates them with his actors. The DVD will restore any shots deleted for pacing.

He's not claiming to "capture the spirit" of the books. He's claiming to lift exactly what he sees and put it on film, line for line and shot by shot. He's serious enough about this to leave the DGA and invite Frank Miller to actually co-direct the movie.

Rodriguez on AICN:

"I told Frank right off the bat that I wasn't interested in adapting the books, I wanted to simply translate them to the screen. I didn't want to make Robert Rodriguez's SIN CITY, I wanted to make Frank Miller's SIN CITY."

Is the gag scene extensive in the book? Jessica Alba probably wouldn't mind a gag scene being a veteran of a few in her career

And, of course, this is the one where, afterwards, the heroine's friend bemoans her own dull existence:

"Why do these things always happen to you?" she demanded plaintively. "Why does no one gag me and bind me hand and foot?"

I think it's interesting that the tone of these is always focused on either guilt or anger resulting from lack of resistance (as opposed to fear, relief at surviving, or other emotions you might expect Abby to hear about).

I get what you're saying, but my view is stuff happens in the course of making a movie that could lead to varying from the comic series. I'd be shocked if you got exactly what you're expecting, but I hope you're right. Actually, I really, really hope you're right.

Re: theatre bondage
I have no idea if it's ever been produced in this country, but the script for Dario Fo's "Abducting Diana" has the titular heroine B & G for quite a long time early on.

I've also seen at least one production of "Peter Pan" with a very striking (fully adult!) Tiger Lily in bondage.

Passions update?
Anything new happen on Passions today? I figure either Luiz must have popped out of the brush and beat the heck out of the bad guy, or else the bad guy took Paloma back to his lair and re-tied and re-gagged her once again. Or maybe he re-tied and re-gagged her and THEN Luiz jumped out of nowhere and beat up the bad guy. Anyway, I missed taping this today and would sure like to know what's going on...

I recall a letter I read many, many years ago from a woman who signed herself "Forever Gagged". She had been bound and gagged for ninety minutes in a similar scenario years before, during a convenience store robbery. She was about to get married, and when she was introduced to one of her fiancee's cousins, she recognized him as the robber who had left her tied up and gagged.
Are letters to advice columns considered a part of mainstream media?

Personally, I think these letters, which appear frequently, are "hoaxes" or the expression of someone's bondage fantasy. I just don't buy that a woman, exposed to real life situation, would find this medium as a place to get "advice."

And then there was the one from the woman who was bound and gagged for hours with her best friend. She was angry at her husband for untying the friend first.

I believe these are all considered hoaxes with the basic story (woman in bondage turns into weird interpersonal situation) now being adopted into the urban myth canon.

While I don't discount the possibility that letters such as these could be spurious, I believe in the veracity of their authors. The scenarios seem realistic, without any sexual overtones. These women were all bound and gagged during the commission of robberies, and were all traumatized by their respective ordeals.
The most recently mentioned letter, in which the two female employees of a tennis supply shop were bound and gagged in the back room, doesn't seem to me to have been fabricated. The subject of the letter is the emotional turmoil in the teenage girl that was caused by this incident. According to her colleague, she possesses a strong, feisty personality and loathes being rendered helpless in any way, including being physically restrained by ropes and silenced by a duct tape gag.

I think I mentioned this here before, but according to her E! biography, while a student at E. Caroline University, SANDRA BULLOCK played Tiger Lily in a drama department production of Peter Pan. Supposedly, her dance number stopped the show. The program flashed (so to speak) a B&W photo of Sandy in costume... what there was of it. Unfortunately, no mention was made of the captured-by-pirates scenes. Since seeing the program I've become a strong supporter of MASSIVE FEDERAL FUNDING for time travel R&D, so a team of researchers can go back and make a holographic recording of the entire production... or at least the parts when Sandy/Tiger Lily is on stage. :-)

I agree completely. Every time I've seen one of these letters, they use a language that those of us are just too used to using or seeing in fantasy bondage. I think a genuine person who went through this would simply state that they were "tied up" or "bound and gagged" and not use terms like "hogtied" and describing in detail how tightly they were tied and how much they were struggling to escape. It's just more detail than a common victim would have put into it. OK, fess up, which one of you pervs keeps writing these? :-)

Hey! I happened to buy this comic years ago just because I like Miller's work. It thought it was a nice bonus that it had a scene in it. Interesting to see something I picked up in a used comic store years ago surface as a movie by a great director and a HOT leading lady. Can't wait for that one.
