Who feel that they aren't true DiD scenes? With me, it's sort of a question of "degree": if I can't see the bonds, I can still enjoy the scene IF the gag work is exceptional, or the struggling is above average, or if there is good gloating or taunting, etc. Otherwise, if she's just sitting there with no bonds showing, it usually won't register much with me. |

Bindings are nice, but they're basically added enhancement, like high heels, a string bikini or a killer rack trapped in a tight sweater would be. But the best enhancement is a sexy actress and/or a bindee's mood/facial expressions. Showe me a scene where the damsel is just stitting there like a rock and I'm left cold. OTOH, show me a scene where she's frustrated and/or angry at being gagged/tied and yowza! |

Bad sign early was UPN voiceover saying "TV Guide says Veronica Mars has cult favorite written all over it." Translation: The ratings will suck, but please keep us on the air. |

Kinda speaks for me too, Vince. My main criteria for enjoyment of a scene is the actress or celebrity involved. If she doesn't turn me on (and many of the ones discussed here don't), she could be breast-bound and harness-gagged and I probably wouldn't care about the scene. As the face is the most recognizable part of a celeb, and I like gags, that becomes the prominent feature for me. Aside from the expression factor, there is the "vocal performance". Some spirited mumbling (along with struggling) can go a long way. It may even change my feeling about the "performer". As far as invisible bindings, it falls into the same category as inadequate bonds or gags; just use a little imagination. "Acting!!" (Master Thespian) |

(Master Thespian) That reminds me of a scene discussed here a long time back, where there was an outtake in which the actress was so startled by something, she jumped out of her chair, and for a brief glimpse you could see that her hands behind her back were not bound. In fact, I believe that was the Susan St. James scene in McMillan and Wife. I'd much rather know the actress had to spend time in actual ropes. The more believable the tying job, the better, IMO. Here are 3 cases I can think of:
Striking Distance 1993 [Her gag is seen but not her bonds] Murphy's Law 1986 Kathleen Wilhoite [Her gag is seen but her bonds are almost invisible] Quantum Leap(Play It Again, Seymour April 14, 1953) Claudia Christian [Her gag is seen but her bonds are hard to see because she is so far in the background] |

Saturday September 25 22:18:49 2004 Re: No binds |
I agree with the others that if the binds aren't visible it really doesn't do anything for me. Furthermore the lady's wrists need to out of reach of her face (i.e. tied overhead, behind the back, around a large tree, etc) so that she can't knaw through the ropes to free them. After all, if she can't use her hands then it doesn't matter what else is done (ankles tied, gagged, etc) she won't be able to do anything about the situation. This greatly affects whether I decide to capture a vidclip of it or not, thus the reason why some may never end up on the web page. The only exception is if she's "helpless" for a period of time before able to free herself (as evident in the recent X-Files clip on the site). |
