Sunday September 19 01:02:01 2004 Cable Channels Add Network Dramas |
Apologies if this is old news here, but several dramas will begin (or have begun) showing "syndication" runs on the following cable channels. For specific days and times, CYLL.
A&E * CSI: Miami The series will begin to air on A&E Network on a weekly basis in Fall 2004 for two years. Beginning in Fall 2006, for the next two years, the series will appear as a strip on A&E Network in parallel with weekend syndication by King World. In the fall of 2008, the off-network rights for CSI: Miami will become exclusive to A&E Network. USA * The District (started) TNT * Without A Trace (starts 9/27) Hallmark * JAG (starts 10/3) * Walker, Texas Ranger (starts 10/3) |

Thanks for the confirmation and curse it all at the same time. Though she is getting a tad long in the tooth, I was really looking forward to one more scene with Kim. |

Sunday September 19 08:20:54 2004 Veronica Mars (UPN) |
> As far as DiD potential goes, VERONICA MARS looks like the best bet. Other than that, it's slim pickin's. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES might produce, and LAX has some mild promise. LOST? Ummmm... who knows?
---- And I wouldn't hope for much from "Veronica Mars". Some excerpts from an AP article by Bridget Byrne printed today in my local newspaper. "Dad runs a struggling PI agency, where Veronica helps out after school... She's definitely no Nancy Drew. 'Nancy Drew is about finding the hidden jewels in the haunted cave. We want our episodes to feel real.' says [creator and executive producer]. Veronica Mars doesn't go looking for action-packed adventure like the heroine from those detective novels first published in the 1930s. Rather, she helps solve the problems of her community that arise from a clash of cultures and conflicting moral values." Veronica is played by 24-year-old Kristen Bell. Bell says she's thrilled to play "a female character with grit, not just a sappy ingenue..." |

And there could be even more improvement if he had the future female guests being interviewed through thin cleave gags. We know that ain't gonna happen either. Then again, given Stern's need to always dominate (pun intended) the conversation, maybe he'd be open to suggestion. Who volunteers? |

At the end of the show she was shown in bed without the SJ. There may be future scenes, as she's not getting out anytime soon. |

Kind of reminds me of the song Tom Petty sung at the rock-star camp on the Simpsons: "I know this girl, the wildest girl in town" (cheers) "she's worried about national health care" (boos) "she likes to party" (cheers) "she's concerned that kids can't see a doctor" (boos) How long before this show is either cancelled, or moves to a situation in which Veronica faces off against criminals, rather than 'conflicting moral values'? |

The big problem is the so-called "returning favorites" have really been busts over the past few seasons, which puts more pressure on the new shows to deliver. Shows like "Charmed", "Jag", "Crossing Jordan" etc. have been disasters, plus the "CSIs" and medical shows are always longshots to produce anything good. Fortunately, "24" and "Alias" came through last season. The demise of the syndicated show is also disappointing. I don't think they're gone, just going to different outlets, like "Lifetime." But the days of 3 shows on USA and 3 during the week on independent stations are history. |

There is also a scene of Alison Doody's character walking through the desert with the bad guys and she has her hands tied in front of her. Not great bondage but it is there. I don't see a database entry for this scene. While I'm posting looks like the Hallmark Channel will begin airing the old Wild Wild West series on October 2nd with an all day marathon. Then each Saturday at 6 PM according to their site. The database shows 8 scenes from this series. My personal favorite is the Night of the Circus of Death episode. Could be a chance to catch some of these old scenes. |

I'm really hoping that people move out of the "realistic" phase and get more into designing fun fantasy adventures again. That said, it might be a good show in its own right, provided they can make the storytelling interesting, but it certainly won't be much of a DiD-related one. Any ideas on when this "realism" trend will abate? |

Sunday September 19 15:18:40 2004 Stern |
It's a radio show first...hence, no way in Hell Stern will ever think to gag the guests. One of his cronies tried a cleave on Rhonda Shear (USA Up All Night icon) ten years ago, but she pulled it out. Even then, I think that was only because Stern spent ten minutes moaning about how annoying her voice was.
For years, their in-studio Real Doll had a ballgag hanging around its neck. Nothing ever came of that, either. The tickle fetishists must love Howard. |

Keep an eye on Smallville, which has added another hot actress (Lois Lane). Also, don't forget (1-800) Missing and the soaps, which have been pretty good this year. It's a drag when shows pop up that should result in a scene like Birds of Prey or Mutant X but deliver little or none. What we really need is a show like "Cliffhangers: Stop Susan Williams" with Susan Anton from 1979 (except with some good scenes this time around). It's actually kind of surprising to me that the Saturday afternoon cliffhanger serial has not been revived or done in a modern way. It would be great in the era of strong modern women to buck the trend and do the opposite of everyone; isn't that what Hollywood looks for: "the new trend"? |
Sunday September 19 19:13:55 2004 Howard Stern |
On one of Howard's pay-per-view specials from the early 90's, I believe it was "Butt Bongo Fiesta", Jessica Hahn was tied down while wearing a jungle girl outfit. Nice image. Also in that same sequence there are several bare-breasted jungle girls roped together.

Sunday September 19 20:56:25 2004 Guiding Light - kidnap scene |
A spoiler for this week says: Dinah is released but Cassie decides to take the law into her own hands and kidnap her!
Dinah is played by Gina Tognoni, who gave us a quick b&g scene several years ago on OLTL. |

Cassie was responsible for this earlier scene: Record number: 5673 Title: Guiding Light Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Wendy Moniz Description: Dinah (Moniz) is tied to a chair in a store room by one of the female series regulars in order to keep her from ruining a wedding. She is gagged with a cloth stuffed into her mouth & held in place by a strip of tape. At one point she is ungagged, then re-gagged soon after. Finally, after it's too late to crash the wedding, the female captor releases her. |
