Tuesday August 10 01:14:18 2004 Young & Restless |
Just got around to viewing the 'day ahead' episode of Y&R -this episode will air on Tuesday Aug 10 in the U.S. - Sharon Case ("Sharon") is on a private jet - she decides she does not want to leave Genoa City, but Cameron Kirstin (bad guy) will not let her leave the plane. They have a couple of scenes where they struggle, then, near the end of the episode, Sharon is shown duct taped in a seat, seatbelted in as well. The tape job is not very convincing, there is no gag. This will continue tomorrow. |

Tuesday's episode is the one where Sasha Alexander is tape-gagged but it's not shown, only her with a piece of tape in her hand after the fact, if I'm remembering the discussion correctly. The 2nd scene where Sasha is gagged should air on Aug. 24 if CBS sticks to the order. |
Tuesday August 10 03:06:49 2004 Film Alert in L..A .area |
For those that are in the L.A. area, there are 2 rare showings. One is Argento's "The Card Player" which I think
is the Theatrical debut in L.A. This is playing at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood on Sat. Aug.14, @ 8:30 pm. The other is "The Second Floor Mystery" 1930, with Loretta Young. This one has been lovingly restored by UCLA and will be shown Sun. Aug.15, @ 7:00pm at the Jas.Bridges theater. The latter has a scene with young Miss Young bound and gagged and the former has more than one scene with womem BG. One,I believe is Argento's daughter. Enjoy! |

Tuesday August 10 15:20:10 2004 Young and the restless scene |
Sharon was indeed duct taped to a chair, not gagged I thought it was a fairly cool scene though , tomorows previews show her free but the guy is gonna "make her love him eventually" so there may be more bondage too come...

Tuesday August 10 15:24:00 2004 Passions today |
Paloma DID get kidnapped..
there was lots of struggling a few hand gags and eventually she was Chloroformed. it Dra-a-a-a-a-agged on though so she wasn't tied up or gagged today. and she wasn't shown in tomorrows previews but they were shown looking for her in the jungle so she most likely WILL be in the episode. lets hope She is a cutey |

Just over the 56.20 minute mark, a CU of Paloma (asleep) shows her cleave-gagged (dark blue and white handkerchief). No ropes are ever shown. Face remains in (gagged) CU as she awakens. The scene (all 40 seconds of it) is intercut with some guy smoking a cigar. Preview shows the scene continuing tomorrow. |

Tuesday August 10 17:54:32 2004 Fear Factor |
There were two stunts on "Fear Factor" last night in which the female contestants were restrained. In the first such stunt, they were strapped down in a glass coffin and inundated with tarantulas and other fulsome invertebrates. In the second such stunt, they had their hands cuffed in front of them while they were wearing bikinis. |

Tuesday August 10 18:13:40 2004 Kydnap 1580s style. |
I remember reading "The Spanish Tragedy" by Thomas Kyd at school, and noting the brief abduction scene.
End of Act II, Scene 4. Lorenzo, brother of Bel-imperia, and his henchmen murder B-I's friend Horatio by hanging and stabbing(!), then abduct B-I. They and Balthazar have other, political, plans for her. LORENZO: My Lord away with her, take her aside. Oh sir, forbear: your valor is already tried. Quickly dispatch, my masters. [They hang him in the Arbor.] HORATIO: ~~ What, will you murder me? LORENZO: Aye, thus and thus: these are the fruits of love. [They stab him.] BEL-IMPERIA: Oh save his life, and let me die for him. Oh, save him, brother, save him, Balthazar: I loved Horatio, but he loved not me. BALTHAZAR: But Balthazar loves Bel-imperia. LORENZO: Although his life were still ambitious-proud, Yet is he at the highest now he is dead. BEL-IMPERIA: Murder, murder: Help, Hieronimo, help. LORENZO: Come, stop her mouth; away with her. [Exeunt]. It's rather bald in the script, but the Elizabethan audience would expect to see quite a fight, and this could be played up to the melodramatic hilt. There's a woodcut of this scene at http://www.theatrehistory.com/british/kyd002.html Sadly, it's just before Bel-imperia gets her mouth stopped, but she is being grabbed, and Horatio is hung up in the arbor. Just one of many murders and tortures in this ultra-violent crowd pleaser. :-) |

Correction: the URL should be

Did anyone catch all of this soap today? I missed thirty minutes of it while I recorded Y&R and when I came back to it the mother, Estefania (I believe), was being unhandcuffed and unblindfolded in a hospital room by two goon-like men. Did I miss anything important between the 60-90 minute mark? |

Is Canada a day ahead of us down here? Just wondering when to look for the scene, as the previous post said no gag & she wasn't seen in previews for tomorrow (but that doesn't mean she's NOT in the episode tomorrow!!!). Should the gag scene sir on Wednesday for us in the US? (I know the obvious answer is "just tune in & find out", but I'm dying to know when Paloma, a TOTAL hottie, will get the gag! :-) |

So to sum up for U.S. viewers... Paloma gets chloro'd at end of Monday episode, gets shown chloro'd again at the start of Tuesday's episode, and thanks to the generosity of our Canadian neighbors, we now know that Palmona will be shown cleave-gagged at the end of Wednesday's episode. To quote Bud, GET IT? GOT IT? GOOD. |

Will someone please describe in detail how Sharon was bound (i.e., hands in front/behind, wrists crossed or palm-to-palm, were her ankles bound, any other bonds)? Thanks!!Unfortunately I did not check the site this morning so I missed seeing Sharon FINALLY getting bound. |

If we're going to discuss the classics, I believe The Oresteia by Aeschylus has a portion where Agamemnon's daughter is gagged (then sacrificed). In Shakespearean tragedy, Iago was too much of a wuss to silence his wife, although I believe he does refer to it in Othello. |

And keeping up the classics theme, in "Titus Andronicus" (universally regarded as Shakespeare's WORST play) there's a scene where Titus' daughter Lavinia is dragged off to be mutilated and raped. She is pleading with Tamora, the lead villainess, as this is about to happen, and Tamora's son shouts at her "I'll stop your mouth" (and he means stop as in stop up, ie gag.) There are no stage directions (Will never really was big on these) but it could easily be interpreted that he gags her. I'm sure directors have taken creative license with this and actually featured a gagging here. In the film version, "Titus," featuring Anthony Hopkins, the lovely Scottish actress Laura Fraser plays Lavinia, but there's no gagging as she's carted off (and things get pretty gruesome from that point on anyway). |
