Sunday August 01 11:16:49 2004 Any of you who get "Opus"... |
...in your Sunday comics, be sure to take a look at today's entry, especially the last panel.
Hmmmm...wonder if the lawyers for whoever wrote for or produced Tracey Ullman's old HBO show will come calling? (If reading the strip doesn't ring a bell, or if you weren't a "Tracey Takes On..." fan, try throwing a query for Ullman into the database to see what I mean. Okay, the cartoonist's characters were going for the opposite effect, but I'll bet he didn't dream it up himself.) |

Sunday August 01 16:39:48 2004 angel dvd question |
Just wondering if anyone could tell me which disc of the Angel dvd set includes "parting gifts" - a video store near me rents the box set as single dvds, but there is no packaging, etc. to tell which episodes are on which discs. Thanks in advance. |

Sunday August 01 16:44:32 2004 Scene ID? |
1. Tape gagged with wrists cuffed behind led off a boat and snuck into a military base where the bad guy changes her bondage to a single wrist cuffed to a pole while he prepares an explosive device to go off in 20 minutes.
2. While cloth cleave gagged (rest of the bondage unknown) in the back seat of the car. The lady next to her is driving the car in a later scene saying it's for her own good and that addition is a bad thing. 3. Searched for Tia Carrere but didn't find anything matching this scene except for perhaps Relic Hunter with episode title "Thank You Very Much" though I didn't catch any dialog about tying her tighter per database description. |

Fair enough question, given that it'll probably be a couple of weeks before the strip'll show up online. There's a gagged female in it, although she's being physically held by another character instead of tied up. For the uninitiated, "Opus" is a satire strip, kind of like the late Jeff MacNelly's "Shoe" or Walt Kelly's "Pogo" (and when was the last time you heard THAT one mentioned anywhere, baby boomers?) with mainly animal characters (Opus himself is a penguin). A few weeks ago a human character named Pickles dropped into their midst. She's a Scandinavian princess of some sort, but don't get your hopes up-she sort of resembles a young Miss Piggy. Anyway, she's trying to shake the princess habit but suffered a bit of a relapse today, which got her into the gag-and-clutches situation. Decked out in a baseball uniform replete with ball and bat, she's held fast to a chair in a room with posters of the likes of Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Condoleezza Rice (I swear on Dave Barry's life I'm not making that one up), and, of course, the junior United States Senator from New York... Anyway, seeing this brought to mind Tracey Ullman's "lesbian aversion therapy" skit from her old HBO "Tracey Takes On..." series. It's in the database if you want to draw comparisons. |

Sunday August 01 20:13:24 2004 Couple more from Jay L. |
Just a couple short scenes as I kick the tires of my latest efforts to automate the update process: here's Michelle Duquet and an unknown in 1-800-Missing "I Thought I Knew You" and Amy Price-Francis in Tracker "Without a Trace." (As a reminder, the most recent scenes on the new site can always be found at the end of the last page.) |

Sunday August 01 21:08:21 2004 Speaking of scene ID inquiries... |
Calling Jay L: can you (or another knowledgeable contributor) identify this "Water Rats" episode for me by title and/or name of damsel? I've searched the DB without finding an apparent match. While it's probably too short to be clipworthy -- my edited clip runs for only 10 seconds -- I figure I could make some decent caps. |

Sunday August 01 23:37:28 2004 Dead Zone Caps? |
Hi all!
I was just wondering if anybody has any caps of the recent Dead Zone scene. I was very excited about this episode, and it sounds like it delivered. Unfortunately, I was not able to see it (don't have USA), and the website offered no pictures of the scene. So I was wondering if anybody here happened to have any caps, so I can get an idea of what this scene was like. Thanks! |
