Saturday July 10 00:55:30 2004 To catch a thief |
Just got through watching Hitchcock's "To catch a thief" with Grace Kelly. It is an excellent movie that I had never seen before but I rented it to see a scene I thought it featured. The scene I am thinking of features an actress bound and gagged on the floor. I can remember at least that she is wearing green and may be dressed as a gypsy. I thought it was to catch a thief, then thought it was once a thief, but that was a tv show, not a movie, and not old enough to be the scene I'm thinking of.
Can anyone identify the scene I'm describing? |

Record number: 81 Title: It Takes A Thief Medium: TV Series Actress: Amy Thomson Description: Episode: "A Case Of The Red Turnips" (2.9) Wearing a sexy harem outfit, she is hog-tied and cleave-gagged with a thick silk scarf. Lots of struggling on the floor as she scrunches across the floor attempting to escape. |

Years ago when Ron Roddy was still healthy, they used to sometimes do skits as part of the showcase showdown. Supposedly one skit involved Diane loosely tied to a recliner. I think the main appeal is that it was on the 'Price Is Right' and therefore pretty much totally and completely unexpected, right up there with Katie Couric trying out ballgags on 'Today' :-) |

Around 1991, in one of the showcase showdown skits, models Holly Halstrom (sp?) and Janice Pennington appeared as either ghosts or witches. Both had their hands manacled in front with GIANT manacles. They wore long black dresses and had green makeup on their faces. I know this scene exists because at the time I was running master control at my local CBS affiliate and when it popped up I almost spewed my coffee all over the board! The Game Show Network used to air reruns of "The Price Is Right" but it doesn't seem to be on the schedule at the moment. Anyway, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack to catch that scene or the Dian Parkinson one. |

Shirley Eaton was beautiful, being bound and gagged made her more gorgeous, and having an indignant look on her gagged face made her quite luscious! |

Yep. This sequence was insane. It really did seem as though the writers and directors were going out of their way to introduce every single possible bondage element possible. Chloroform, knockout by injection, rope, handcuffs, duct tape, cleave gags, blindfolds, lingerie, and it just went on and on -- simply amazing. The only soap sequence I've seen that comes anywhere close is Libby Tanner in "Pacific Drive," and even than can't match the variety that we saw here. (Five clips on my member site, though I haven't yet tracked down the first part of the sequence...grrr.) |

The glare would be intimidating if she weren't all trussed up, but it shows a strong character, and that's certainly attractive. She > may not be someone's "type," but that doesn't > equate with "ugly." Yes, she starts working that nice gag and wriggling about. Saturday July 10 05:12:26 2004 Scarlett Johansson as Lois Lane?? |
On the website movieweb.com over in the news section, there was an article on the new Superman movie. It mentioned that the director McG was trying to convince Scarlett Johansson to take on the role of Lois Lane. Has anyone heard anything else about this? |
Saturday July 10 05:20:58 2004 Re: The Saint |
This correspondence just reminded me;: I saw the scene when it first aired, and a friend, almost certainly of the vanilla persuasion, had just come in.
When Ms Eaton appeared b&g on the bed, he exclaimed, "Phwoar! That's nice!" He thoroughly enjoyed the scene and the rest of the show. Any other indignant DiD scenes out there? Karen Dotrice in "The Thirty-Nine Steps", also tightly OTM gagged and struggling, is another of my faves. |

You mean the torture Sam thing. The usual disappointment. Sam (Amanda) looked GREAT in her new muscle-shirt tank-top. Let's hope it's standard issue from now on. She got beamed aboard the Replicator ship, lots of gloating by the human Replicator "Fifth", lots of cowering & whining by Sam (she's a brave girl, but any of us would be shitting our pants in similar circumstances.) and then the "torture" started... & it was all mental, meaning Fifth touched her forehead, the screen was filled with a collage of fuzzy images, then Sam collapsed to the floor in post-agony. No restraint. They *did* show "her" walled up in Replicator blocks, as per the preview images, but it wasn't clear whether it was Sam or... BIG SPOILER INFO! ...the Replicator Sam that Fifth built for himself! Yes, the naked-Sam-cover-in-goo in the preview show was Replicator Sam being "born." So... no bondage, no gag, dire peril but no restraint. Jeez... you'd almost think bondage wasn't the foremost thing on the writers & producers minds! :-) |

An analysis of previous episodes indicates that LtCol Carter (AKA Major Carter) is placed in some sort of major (now LtCol)DID situation with some sort of restraint on the average of onec a year. This includes minor putz scenes in chains/handcuffs/cable ties. Notable appearances in a couple of episuded including spitting out packing and a nice tape gag picture. This year is probably the last sason for Amanda Tapping and the original crew with exception of future guest appearances on SG Atlantis (provided its a success). Is this the high point for the last season? What are the chances for a final scene? Perhaps kidnapped by her replicator double who choloro's her. Along the lines of what Van said, the producers havn't a clue. If the cast gets residual fees for reruns, you know these episodes will draw audiences (or at least until vidcapped). I am surprised tat Raffish doesn't have any scenes. General O'Neil

Saturday July 10 14:06:18 2004 Re: Dian Parkinson |
There was one Price is Right episode where, as part of a skit during the findal 'big deal of the day', one of the black models was briefly shown being strapped into a straight jacket. This would have been in the mid-1980's, before I could afford a vcr.
A few weeks later they had the 'big deal' prizes showcased in a torure chamber setting. Unfortunatly I tuned in too late that day to see the skits, but I wouldn't have been surprised if the models had worn cuffs or some other restraint that day. The point is that, at least at that time, TPIR wasnt afraid to occasionally restrain their models for comedic effect, so it's quite possible that Diane may have been in a DiD skit back then. I'd also bet this is legit. I could easily see some trip prize sending the guests back to the Wild West "where danger" is the name of the game and seeing a B&G Dian. Check the link for some crazy skit photos. It's certainly no stretch to think they'd take it a little further. |

They *did* show > "her" walled up in Replicator blocks, as per > the preview images Although I agree that it wasn't much in terms of bondage, I thought the walled up in Replicator blocks was a nice addition to the futuristic bondage ouevre. It very much reminded me of the people imprisoned in the walls of the area around the evil city in Barbarella, visually speaking. Not sexy at all, but interesting. It's funny but the most powerful and effective bondage imagery I've seen are from a cheapo B-movie (Starslammer) with the massive futuristic stocks, and in the "Slave Warrior Maya" operation of "Cool Devices." (Check out the homepage link to see 'em.) I also thought the spreadeagle bondage of Claudia Black in Farscape (see pic below) was very strong, though seriously underlit (and Black was seriously overdressed). Given the nature of the bondage, I'm not surprised. With the Gha'ul being such creepy types there's all sorts of potential for powerful futuristic bondage imagery, but the Stargate writers don't seem to have twigged to those possibilities. |

Few more caps for your viewing pleasure.
Pretty gruesome film - both the acting and the gore, only lightened by a few bondage scenes. See link below for caps. |

Sorry if I caused any confusion, I was just trying to make a point about how much of a surprise good quality DID stuff would be on TPIR, about the same chance as it happening on 'Today'. Didn't mean to raise anybody's hopes. I'll go stand in the corner for a while. |

-------------- Record number: 10547 Title: Days Of Our Lives Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Arianne Zuker Description: Episode: July 8, 2004 Nicole (Arianne Zuker) was tied up with rope early in the episode, then securely taped to the same chair. After some chit-chat, the female tapes her mouth. Nicole does some talking through the tape-gag. Notice when the tape is applied it's a little off-center and the right edge is loose. As the scene plays on, the female smooths the tape on the right side while running her lines. Good job by the female noticing her intitial taping was sloppy. Gagging occurs in the final minutes. Preview for Friday showed Nicole being rescued. She was shown having tipped her chair over and she cut her head. The tape-gag was perfectly positioned in the scene on Friday. Sarah Buxton remained very loosely tied to the pole in the barn. No gag in sight. -------------- Problems here. 1. The scene is still ongoing, so the entry is incomplete. Wait until it finishes out before constructing the entry. 2. What will people a year from now make of "Friday's preview"? 3. Sarah Buxton is mentioned, but not in the Actress field, plus it says her "scene continued" without the details of what happened before. 4. A general note, descriptions should be written in present tense. That is, "Nicole IS tied up" not "Nicole WAS tied up". As always, this is meant as instruction for all in database protocol, not to bash or humiliate the particular person here. |

A very good scene tonight with a cute blonde bound and cleave gagged with duct tape (at least they found a creative way to use it!). Scenes start around 15' in with flashbacks, but the better lit (and real) scenes start around 40-45' in. All in all, the best scene the show's produced so far, IMO. |
