Speaking as strictly a rope-snob, for me gags add a great deal to the bondage effect, and even though I personally wouldn't limit any search to "gags only" I can understand those who would find it useful. My only concern is that there would be those who prefer cleave over otm, or duct tape over cloth, bandanas over rags, wadding vs. no wadding. My point is that you'll never be able to please everyone, so I'm not convinced that this is such a hot idea..where would it end? Also concerned that it would take someone a great deal of time and effort, with the value-added being minimal.

I'm one as well. The funny thing is that it would be hard to make the database sort scenes by rope. Most descriptions say something like "hands tied behind", and no mention of the tying material, which is assumed to be rope unless otherwise stated. At least gags are something that specifically have to be mentioned if they occur, thus giving the gag snobs something to work in their favor.

True, the idea was to add only one feature to the database at first, and possibly more later. But I easily see the logic in the "don't start" argument (and the "floodgates" argument it's attached to).

> that it would take someone a great deal of time and

It would specifically help searchers who want certain types of scenes. Those who tend to seek out names of movies that catch their eye, or check the most recent entries, would end up reading the description anyway and thus find their relevant info. So yeah, I do think that since these "checkboxes" would help only searchers who want to glance, it would be minimal value.

Searching "Tied" will get you mostly rope scenes.

Favour asked was "bound with chains", bound....with tape, and cuffed.
Tried to implement that whilst going through.

One Life to Live
Has anyone been paying attention to this soap? (I've had to stop montoring it to keep an eye on ATWT.) When I walked in from work Friday I caught a glimpse of someone picking up the lovely Adriana and sprinting her away while everyone was looking the other direction. (Except a camcorder that I'm going to bet was forgotfully left on.)

I didn't see who the grabber was and she wasn't handgagged so she could have easily yelp for her friends standing three feet away. Maybe it was just her boyfriend stealing her away for some time alone. But soaps aren't known for being logical and the crying for help might have just been left out. (These are the assumptions one makes after only seeing five seconds of TV.)

The only mention of her this week is Tuesday's "John is alarmed when he can't find Adriana." (and she is currently #2 on my Daytime Actress Wishlist.)

Believe me, I realize that, which is why I said my views on this are slanted. It's a tough call to decide what is good for everyone without over-loading the system.

>>>>>>the "gag snobs" are a very vocal
group, regardless of whether they are the majority or
simply a minority with very strong views.<<<<<

On this, it would shock me if us gag-snobs weren't at least 70%-80% of the whole who post here. I base this on the posts themselves. Good gag scenes generate a HUGE amount of posts and interest, while non-gag scenes tend to fade away quickly, if mentioned at all. Perhaps a poll would decide the issue?

>>>>I see similar special interest groups pop up on other message boards,<<<<<<

Much like our society, majority should rule except in cases of blatant rights violations. IOW, you can't please everyone.

Yes/No" indicator on database entries.<<<<<<

Yatzee! That is exactly what I'm talking about adding.

>>>> I think though we should start with something that would
benefit more people first. Such as the "is the scene
worth it" question.<<<<<

The problem here is subjectivity. For instance, the Scooby Doo/SMG scene would have been, for me, a total waste of time with it's loosey, flimsy, gag but for the fact it was SMG's first and only (To this point) gag scene. That point alone made it a classic "must see, must have".

Defining "gag-snob" as one who believes that a gag is a defining element of bondage, rather than a preference, let me cast the first vote - Not a gag-snob here.

Nancy Drew PC Games
Saw about half a dozen Nancy Drew PC games at BestBuy yesterday.

No idea if they are based on the old series, new series, or totally new for PC gaming.

Has anybody checked them out ?

Happy 4th everybody !!!!!

Did a search for "Nancy Drew" "walkthrough" "tied" to find info on them. Figured walkthroughs - guides which teach you every solution to every puzzle in a game - would mention if someone got tied up.

That said, I found some walkthroughs to several of the PC games, in which rescuing someone tied up inevitably happens:
"go down the steps and through the sealed door, passed the pool and into the warehouse, you will find Katie gagged and tied up in a chair" - excerpt from http://www.adventureworld.netfirms.com/Danger_on_Deception_Island_walkthrough.htm

Other guides for other Nancy Drew games:
http://www.adventureworld.netfirms.com/nancydrewwalkthrough.htm
http://www.the-spoiler.com/ADVENTURE/Her.interactive/nancy.drew.ghost.dogs.of.moon.lake.1/NDGDOMLWT.htm

Check them out, and do a Find for "tied" to skip to the relevant part.

Perhaps. The final call of course would be Brian's, since he and the other database maintenance crew would be the ones who would have to deal with whatever the results would be of such a change.

I think the poll should be about whether or not one thinks the "gag: yes/no" thing would be useful moreso than if one is a gag-snob or not. Some non-gag-snobs might have use for such a feature, while some gag-snobs might prefer to just check the most recent entries anyway.

Hmm. I think we're at a bit of a stalemate here, argument-wise. I'd like to know what Brian thinks of this idea.

I personally prefer the idea of a generic search term that intentionally filters out negatives (i.e. a search for "%gag%" could filter out "not gagged", "hand gagged", etc), since all relevant info should be in the description anyway. If implemented well, that could allow gag-snobs to find their searches easily without adding the possible "clutter" of an additional field, thus satisfying multiple parties. But, I don't wish to repeat the rest of my arguments. So again, I'd like to see Brian's ruling on this.

I think it would be a pain to implement, with little
reward. Because of the recent upgrade, you can already
search like:

gagged -"not gagged" -"no gag"

Again, with your fuzzy, you're going to lose all the
scenes that have a hand-gag in Act 1, and a real one
later.

Even more interesting, in the first scene showing her bound and gagged, if you listen carefully you can hear her whine through her gag, "Ohhhhh, they gagged us!"

Scene from America's Most Wanted
Hey all,

Years ago, there was a scene on America's Most Wanted in which a pair of women were tied up with bedsheets by a rapist. They were bound with their hands behind their backs, with sheets around their ankles and knees (barefoot, but no gags, unfortunately). They are sitting on the floor next to the bed, and the rapist sits between them and taunts them a bit. Obviously this is a sad story, but I enjoyed the bondage scene. Does anyone remember this scene, or possibly have it capped?
Thanks

Great stuff indeed! She's not a classic beauty, but has a down to earth attractiveness.
If you click on "Multimedia", then "Production Stills and Events", you can find the folder that the stills of her. There are about a dozen nice shots of her overall. Interesting captions on a few shots as well. F'rinstance, the 2nd picture Clem loaded above is titled "Gagged!" Pic 1 is "Gagging Pamela".
Oddly, she refers to her gag as masking tape, not duct tape.
