Sunday June 10 02:15:31 2007 Little help with Wonder Woman, comic fanboys? |
I was wondering what the story behind the image on the October 1992 Wonder Woman cover below is. The precis on the Amazon Archives site just says that Wonder Woman is kidnapped by aliens, brought to their planet, beaten and chained, along with females of other species.
The plot precis and imagery seem kinda ... Gorean ... to me. Is anybody here familiar with this issue? Is this a "Wonder Woman on Gor" story, obviously intended as a comment on Gor novels? Or is is kinda like the episode of Angel where Cordelia is transported to Pyleia and becomes a slavegirl, referred to on these pages several times as "Cordelia on Gor" but clearly not intended by the writers as a comment on Gor? Or is it something else entirely? Is there any good bondage imagery other than on the cover? Hopefully one where Wonder Woman or whomever doesn't look so beaten up? Hey, inquiring minds want to know ... |

Sunday June 10 14:15:10 2007 Polish DID |
The damsels in distress fans in Poland seem to have a feast in the last few weeks, as some very nice scenes of Polish origin were aired in their TV recently. The examples below are from the series "Sloneczna wlocznia" and "Oficerowie": all the three scenes are quite long, with excellent lighting, plenty of closeups, and lost of action from both the captive (struggling and mmmphing) and captors (onscreen tying and gagging, taunting, ...).
So, if you have the opportunity to watch current Polish TV production (TV Polonia is aired freely via satellite Astra 1), I recommend to do so - you won't regret it. |

Sunday June 10 16:23:10 2007 Wheel of Time books |
I remember someone a few weeks ago posted that there were some bondage references in Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" novels. What books are these in and do they involve any of the main characters? |

Sunday June 10 17:02:20 2007 soap opera possibilities |
We can't find the original text, but we saw these two possibilities:
Guiding Light: Reva has chloroformed someone. As The World Turns: Allison may be in danger in Las Vegas. |

Sunday June 10 22:42:08 2007 Wonder Woman bondage-o-rama issue |
While doing a little research on Wonder Woman I came across this interesting statement:
"Virtually all "Moulton" Wonder Woman stories included a full-length Wonder Woman in an oversized bondage panel. In one 1948 story, there were no fewer than 75 panels depicting bondage." 75 panels with bondage in them? In one issue? I gotta tell you, most superheroines don't have 75 panels depicting bondage in them in their WHOLE FRICKING CATALOG. Does anybody know which issue has the 75 panels? I'm betting it's one that has to do with Reform Island... BTW, I found out about that cover I posted ... turned up my Google-fu a notch or two and got the skinny ... |
