Saturday June 09 01:13:17 2007 Hardy Boys Movie |
Since the Hardy Boys are making a topic here, has anyone heard about the movie they're planning on doing? I first read about this in the recent Stuff Mag (the one after Bijou, thank Heavens for that article) and it's gonna star Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise. Suttin else to look forward to and hope. |

Saturday June 09 01:37:16 2007 The Judas Goat |
A while ago, someone requested the titles of books that contained female bondage in their plots, and this elicited numerous replies. Among the books recommended were novels featuring the wisecracking pugilistic gumshoe Spenser; the titles mentioned were "The Godwulf Manuscript", "Crimson Joy", and "Walking Shadow".
Ironically, the Spenser novel with perhaps the best bondage scene was not mentioned; this would be "The Judas Goat". Its plot concerns Spenser and his redoubtable colleague, Hawk, traveling to Europe to hunt down a terrorist cell. One of the terrorists is a beautiful blonde, whose confederates betray her. She winds up stripped naked and bound and gagged in a hotel room. She is gagged with white adhesive tape, and is indignantly spewing obscenities after being rescued by Spenser and Hawk. |

Saturday June 09 02:16:08 2007 Detective Comics #833 |
The current issue of Detective Comics (#833, with female magician Zatanna on the cover) features a magician's assistant who dies during a trick-- in flashbacks, we see her being bound and gagged as part of the act; as Zatanna informs Batman: "He discovered the audience liked the idea of a girl in peril, so he added more bondage." We get to see the gagging take place over the course of a few panels; she already has her hands and arms bound behind.
By issue's end, BTW, Zatanna appears to have been shot and dumped in a Houdini-style water tank, but given that this storyline's about illusion, it's quite possible that, by next issue, we will find that she's actually under some form of restraint, and Batman (and the reader) has simply been deceived into thinking she was shot. A long shot (so to speak), but worth a peek at the next issue. |

Remember, Zatanna's power is neutralized by gagging her; she speaks spells backwards. It is almost inevitable that she will be bound and gagged if she is going undercover as a magician's assistant. |

There is a 10 minute Paula Peril short that was produced by another company. You can see it, and the production stills here: http://www.atlantisstudios.net/paulaperil/ Peace Out, |

They have some great experience depicting comics on film -- I've been a fan of Retrogirl since I first found samples on G-Man's old site. |

Saturday June 09 23:43:50 2007 Fast Forward Theatre Reviews |
There's a new Speck video out called "Chicago Massacre Richard Speck". It's quite a a grim affair, as befits the subject matter. Bondage wise, is quite a disappointment, and much inferior to the 2002 treatment "Speck" (which itself was not great IMO). With the exception of some brief shots of bound dead bodies, all the bondage is shown in relatively dark, highly color-desaturated flashbacks. Although some of the flashback scenes last a few minutes, the bondage is very sloppy in most cases, and not dwelt upon. Many of the live girls shown bound in flashbacks are quite bloody. No gags that I recall. The victims are all barefoot, all bondage is hands-in-front (with some bound feet) using torn bedsheets. |
