I didn't know Captivepenny but I am sorry to hear that she died so young.Nowadays people say a person in their 50s who died, died young. It's a shame she wasn't able to enjoy a longer life. |

Actually it's a telenovela from a Portugeese speaking country (probably Brazil, but maybe Portugal) that's been poorly dubbed into spanish. |

Sunday July 15 02:44:30 2007 Kate Mara cleave gagged in "Shooter" |
Was watching "shooter" and she's tied up at parts but at approx 1:38:40 Kate Mara is shown tied hands and feet to chair and cleaved gagged with a white cloth. Unfortunately, it looks like it's from say a security camera and they're just watching her....and you only see it for about 5 or so seconds and the rest of the movie you don't see anything else.....I'm going to check deleted scenes tomorrow and i'll also screen capture it on my laptop so ya'll can see what it looks like...if they don't show more it's a shame cuz she's pretty hot. I checked, and it's not on the database. |

When I learned that Fuzzweb and Major John left us, I was devastated. Now... I don't know what to say. I've never been so saddened. Rest in peace, CaptivePenny. We'll never forget you. You will always have a place in our hearts. |

Hate to drag this out but both Fuzzweb and Major Johns sites are gone? What happened? I remember reading CaptivePenny's work years ago, back in the beginning. I was sorry to hear about her loss but I am a little curious as to who reported it since I haven't seen it posted. |

I'm not familiar with Captive Penny. Was she a model who had a website? If so, what was the URL? Just curious as to who she was since many on this site are posting such nice tributes. |

Plus, I don't think it's a book cover. It must be a VHS tape cover, judging from the logo on the bottom right hand cover of the image.

Penny Douglass of Missouri ran a website a few years ago under the name of Captive Penny, in tribute to the cartoon character Penny Gadget. The content, though, was more in the spirit of Nancy Drew -a set of well-written, entertaining stories about the alleged exploits of herself and her teenage friends eternally tying each other up in elaborate role playing games. Penny also hosted and encouraged the work of emergent artists in the DiD field. Some of my photomanipulations were posted there for a while, and we corresponded for about a year. Penny suggested several subjects for my fakes, particularly those she considered over-hyped and synthetic. No names.... :-) As other writers have said, Penny's opinions were honest, straight to the point and scathing, often hilariously so. She stopped writing after her site had increasing difficulty with successive servers, and academic work gave her less time for DiD fantasy. Penny blazed a brief but brilliant trail across our community. She is greatly missed by those of us who knew and enjoyed her work. |

For those of you not lucky enough to know her, I knew her pretty well. She had an amazing huge heart, and unbelievable spirit and a quirky, irreverenet, (he was so on target with the words scathing often hilariously so) sense of humor. and she just ooozed talent and passion and .... life.... |
