I agree this movie looks cool, but I am not sure if it falls under "mainstream." If you look at the other director's films, they seem to deal heavily with chloroform and what not, so he is, knowingly or not, "one of us."
Just nitpicking, but you know how el moderator is. |

Just because a woman happens to be a superheroine does not preclude her from being bound and gagged. Her repertoire of powers may not include the strength needed to break the bonds of rope or handcuffs. Does Tara, the fesity and combative jungle girl from Femforce, qualify as a superheroine? |

By the way, here's another announcement: Janeane Garofalo joins the cast of "24": "Liberal actress Janeane Garofalo will be playing an FBI systems analyst in the upcoming season of hit drama 24. The Romy And Michele's High School Reunion star will play a government agent assigned to investigate a crisis centering around Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and his team on day seven of the seventh season, which starts on TV network Fox early next year. Garofalo last appeared on the small screen playing Louise Thornton in White House drama The West Wing." |

For everybody in the other time zones, The Price Is Right had the repeat of a scene. This is in the Showcase Showdown (at the end of the show) where Barker's Beauty Gabi gets tape gagged for talking too much. |

Wednesday August 22 12:30:35 2007 Twisted World of Oz |
Sorta good news-bad news on this project.
For those who might have missed this, toy maven Todd McFarlane (once known for something else, but I've forgotten what) put out a line of toys a few years ago set in what he called the Twisted World of Oz. I've attached a picture of the Dorothy figure, which as you can see is certainly of interest to this page. Far as I know, there was never a comic book (oh, right, that's where I've heard of him before!) or any other property that explained this in terms of a storyline. There were other figures made, equally twisted, though none with similar bondage overtones (not that I wanted to see the Tin Man tied up anyway). Anyway, C.H.U.D. is reporting today that there's a film in the works. That's the good news. Bad news is that the screenwriter, Josh Olson, evidently wants to get away from the kinkier aspects of the story, likely making Dorothy one of your standard ass-kicking movie babes. Which means that while it's certainly not impossible we might get some version of this scene (since it's basically the inspiration for the project), I do wish McFarlane himself were writing it, since I KNOW he'd leave it in. |

As far as I know, there wasn't *really* a McFarlane version of the "Wizard of Oz" story, per se. I could be wrong. I'm not a complete comics geek. (I'm an *incomplete* comics geek.) Anyhoo... I *think* McFarlane just did his wouldn't-it-be-cool-if-_____-was-seriously-kinky thing and produced the line of sculptures/action figures. So... if Josh Olson wants to "get away from the kinkier aspects"... how is it the *Twisted World of Oz*? Maybe they're just trying to compete with the SciFi Channel's forthcoming "Tinman". |

Ha! True. (Eats crow.) I think what I meant to say is that it is more difficult to tie and gag a superheroine with superstrength...which Diana Prince, Black Canary, Zatanna, and Batgirl did not have. I don't recall Supergirl ever having a satisfactory scene, for example. Here's hoping Kristen's character has something akin to a sonic scream...something that requires gagging in order to be neutralized. |

Wednesday August 22 17:08:36 2007 Discovery Times Channel |
What cable system is "Discovery Times Channel" located on? I've noticed several alerts for this station but my cable supplier on the East coast, Time Warner, *appears* not to have it. If anyone can confirm this, or tell me which cable system carries it and what market, I'd appreciate it.
Just curious since I've discovered other stations under different names in different markets. |

Wednesday August 22 18:56:47 2007 The Women's Murder Club |
Just wanted to remind everybody that the new series "The Women's Murder Club" will premiere on ABC in about a month (in the US). I haven't seen a female cast *this* hot since... the original "Charlie's Angels?" Let's hope the show does them justice. |

Look out for episode 104...there will be a scene with a woman bound and gagged wearing latex. I work on the show.
