You don't happen to know which character it is? 'Cause there's a lot of them I wish I'd see gagged.

Is it shown Monday?

I've often wondered about this old show being such a
touchstone for this board. I would not be a bit
surprised if the cast, crew and director have all either
died, or forgotten about it. The master tape was probably
recycled to record Circus of the Daytime Stars a week after
the "movie" was shown. But 100 years from now, when
Brian's great great great grandson is deleting posts with
holograms larger than the strict 50 petabyte limit, the
denizens of this board will still be lovingly passing
around 2 megabyte, 15 minute clips of
"The Terror Among Us" made from 5th generation
(beta->VHS->KCS audio cassette->AVI->Quicktime) clips, and
trying to figure out which of the blurry blobs are male,
and which are female.

Yeah, took long enough.. but appears we got her.
This is from a Korean video "Zia Voice of Heaven"

It will be Kate, played by Lauren Koslow. Decent looking but wouldn't be my first pick. Spoilers say she's found tied up on Monday.

Ha Ha, so true. And you wouldn't think it would have grown to such mythological proportions by its modest entry in the database:

"Description: A psycho rapist breaks into their apartment and takes all four women captive. They end up bound hand and foot with rope and gagged with cloth. Lots of struggling and moaning by all four women. This is a very lengthy scene."

Whereas scenes of no particular worth or mention sometimes have extremely long detailed descriptions that always leave you dissapointed. But that is all part of the system. Terror Among Us was probably one of the first entries added, back when there was a derth of scenes in the database, not an enormous amount like now, all struggling for signifigance.

And of course it has nostalgic appeal to a certain generation. Little bit before my time, I'm afraid, though I can still respect a lengthy scene involving four women and gagged. And having only seen clips I can avoid the whole messy rape scenario. I was never able to enjoy the seens in the Collector after I'd actually watched the movie. I'd just get depressed.

Oh, I thought Sarah had GREAT legs back then. Didn't you? In fact, I remember another castmember of her reality show ("Real People"?) actually commenting on these attributes on the air. It may have been -- and probably was -- the late Skip Stevenson, and he said something like, "Well, we all know that Sarah has beautiful legs."

The little blonde with the broken arm was rather fetching, as well, though I didn't care for the way she got knocked around by the bad guy. Leo.

FUNNY GAMES Remake
Well, the B&G in this thing will have to be exemplary to get Leo to watch it. I absolutely HATE the cynical original. I regard it as a faux-intellectual piece of mastabatory fantasy from a singularly untalented writer/director.

I can only hope that the "bad boys" are portrayed a little more convincingly than the pair of donut-stuffed sissies of the first version. As I said at the time of the original release, send those two poseurs down here to the good old South, and your average housewife will have both of them squealing in terror while they search for their detached balls in the local storm drain.

Hate that alleged movie. Leo.

Figure you didn't see that Japanese "Perfect Education" film really more, or less borrowed from "Autumn Born"?
(Except tamer, younger gal, little D/s & fetish references than Autum Born)
I personally preferred Autumn Born over it.

As for Simandl, I can't recall Title he got the plot from offhand, but do recall it was deep/understood by ladies.

Better clarify, as DB descripts has them all sounding abit like "Autumn Born" ;)

This is the particular one I saw from the same principle.

Title: Jin shi pei yu, xiang gang qing ye (2002) aka Perfect Education 3
Medium: Movie
Actress: Kana Ito

Description: This installment from the series of Perfect Education movies was made in Hong Kong, unlike all of the other movies which were made in Japan. During a school field trip Ai (Kana Ito) leaves her hotel to wonder in the city. As night falls she takes a taxi only to be kidnaped by Bo, a lonely Chinese taxi driver. He takes her to the countryside and locks her in a cabin. At minute 9:30 he binds Ai’s wrists behind her back with broad rope. She has been cleaved gagged with a white cloth and throws her in the bed. He gets in the bed next to her and embraces her to keep her next to him so she won’t escape. The following morning he leaves her bound, alone, while he goes to work. We see nice close ups of her gagged lovely face. She easily passes her bound wrists down her unbound feet and brings her arms up front. She removes the gag and gets rid of the ropes that bind her. Although she remains her prisoner for the rest of the movie, she is never again seen tied up and she eventually falls for his kidnaper, the common theme of these movies.

Re: FUNNY GAMES Remake- Naomi Watts Gagged
I played, paused and played the msn trailer. It looks mostl;y a scene-scene remake of the original with one delicioius addition - and you all know who. There are plenty of shots of her in undress and underwear - which was missing in original.

Ok - ok - now coming to the subject - 1.59 min mark in the trailer - the famous scene where the lady is brought back while trying to escape with her mouth stuffed with cloth and taped - there is a flash of Naomi Watts exactly the same way !It is grainy - but see if you can pause and magnify the page. Worked for me !

Yep, it definitely looks from the blinkie at the 1:57 mark as though she's in bra and panties for the infamous hopping-around-the-room scene. Yow.

Well, the Collector remake is at least possible. That movie was at least arty and semi-famous, not some throwaway made-for-TV-movie from four decades ago. But if they made the Collector again and it wasn't a shot-for-shot remake it would probable be gender reversal. Which would be exactly like Delores Claiborne or something like that so I hope they don't make it.

Saving Grace
Just posted to the alerts page, there will be a scene with Holly Hunter on "Saving Grace" this Monday (9/17). You can see a fairly lengthy chunk of it on TNT's web site (http://www.tnt.tv) - she is handcuffed spreadeagle to a bed, face down and nude (of course, you can only see her back, head, and arms). She is having a lengthy discussion with the angel "Earl," don't know if he put her in that position because she's so darn naughty or if she was cuffed during consensual sex with her lover "Ham" - those are the two most likely possibilities.

It looks like she's wearing the exact same outfit as the original in the scene where she's being pushed through the door after being recaptured. If they're being as accurate as possible, I bet they include the all-time best gag in mainstream moviedom.

Hear, hear! I couldn't agree more! The original - and the remake by the looks of the trailer - is a sick piece of shit, with absolutely no 'art' about it, and no redeeming qualities other than to feed the vicarious desires of the hidden wannabe serial killers in the audience. I hope everyone will boycott this crap for what it is.
BY THE WAY, for those who haven't seen the original - THE WHOLE FAMILY GETS KILLED, FOR NO REASON, END OF MOVIE. Wow, that's entertaining? Or as the trailer self-states (they surely won't get critics saying it) "Magnificent" "Brilliant" "Daring" . . . wha??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE EMPEROR (Michael Haneke, the director, who's obviously duped a lot of greedy industry types) HAS NO CLOTHES!

I hate to dredge up an old argument, but your problems with the movie are exactly the point of the movie. The movie is a commentary on violence in movies and how we've come to accept it as moviegoers. That is why the killers frequently break the fourth wall and make comments like "But we're not even up to feature film length yet." The point is to show how desensitized we've all become to violence in our entertainment and how uncomfortable it becomes when it seems "real." That's why so many people here hate the movie despite the fact that all the real violence happens off-screen. It's way less violent than say "Candyman 3" or Hellraiser 3, but it's bondage scenes are more reviled because the violence (and by extension the bondage) is realistic.

I'm totally with you on that movie. It was just a European pseudo-intellectual's excuse to show a middle class family being tortured for no particular reason, other than that it got to show how much he didn't like the middle class. You really got the idea that for the director, the psychos were to real heroes of the movie. And the shot-for-shot remake will be no different. There'll jsut be a bondage scene in it and nothing else, for us. Nothing at all for those who don't like bondage.

I haven't seen "Perfect Education" but there's an (IIRC) film called "Blind Beast" making the rounds on cable right now in which a beautiful young model is kidnapped by a blind artist (and his mom!) and eventually kinda after a fashion falls for him and winds up dead.

What made "Autumn Born" different is that Stratton was sent to a special Academy which trained haughty young women to be slavegirls. Call it Gor Academy if you will -- it wasn't just some guy with a crush on the gal, she was actually turned over to this third party group that specialized in slavegirl training. It was more like "Dresden Diaries" than a maledom/femsub romance.

Sorry that this movie isn't artsy or sophistacted enough for ya cause I'm certainly going to enjoy it. It's make believe and if Naomi happens to get the full treatment then that'll be an added bonus. I love violence and if anything, enjoy seeing the bad guys provail sometimes. Good wins over evil way too ofetn. It's nice to change it up every now and again

Wow...that's really your final take on it?

I'm not saying it's a work of genius or anything, and perhaps it went a bit over the top in the bleakly satirical point it was trying to make, but sometimes you really do have to shout fire in a crowded theatre. There is far more to the original film than class warfare.

> There'll jsut be a bondage scene in it and nothing else,

Be careful for whom you speak. The original is still Guaranteed Fresh on rottentomatoes (if only just barely), and as much as I'd like to believe those 60% of critics are all Some of Us...er, no. Somehow, at least a few of them clearly found something other than the bondage to admire.

Seems like she respects the director or something. Weird.

"It was interesting. I saw the original and it was intense, but Michael Haneke is a great filmmaker. I think his films will be remembered in 100 years to come. He's really trying to do something. We remade the film and what was interesting was that he wanted to do the exact same shots, so it was a great experience. He works from a very disciplined place. Everything's very worked-out, very structured, and that makes it a lot harder to be organic, because you've got so many notes in your head. Completely different style from the way David Cronenberg works." -- Naomi Watts

I found that in about a minute via Google. There's presumably more out there.

Yeah, Pat Klous, who went on to be a regular on The Love Boat.
Now, didn't she have on just about the TIGHTEST cleave gag you've ever seen??? It looked even tighter than the oft-mentioned Honor Blackman scene in THE AVENGERS.

In fact, Pat's gag is so tight it almost looks painful.

Actually, it's very doubtful I'll even watch the movie...just rent it & skip to the good stuff & dub away, like I did with the original. I guess that's why I'm not too passionate in any feeling about the movie one way or the other...I've never SEEN it! :-)

Of course, we do not mind when entire cities and families get wiped out in summer trash like Commando, War of the Worlds, Independence day and so on. Why - because the bad guys lose at the end !! Sometimes you sit through a movie although it is deeply distrurbing- then the director has served his purpose because he/she forces you to confront something that is very real and very scary.

I think that is one reason why established actresses like Naomi do these movies and take the tight bondage and gags.

Ok, I wanted to see what the BIG deal was with Naomi Watts. So I went to imdb & looked her up. I repeat: What's the BIG deal about Naomi Watts? She's borderline pretty, why is everybody going crazy for her?

Also, what is the point of a shot-for-shot remake? That's is so totally stupid. Remake it & put a slight spin on the story.
