| "Kate" (Lauren Koslow) is shown bound and gagged within the first 10 minutes of today's episode. She was bound (hands behind her back), tapegagged and standing on a stool with a noose around her neck. Somebody came in, cut her down, and ungagged her, but then he got knocked out by the villain. She is still a prisoner so there may be more footage coming up. |

Naomi Watts is a highly respected actress, and she has clearly consented to same pretty rough treatment. She and the director have recognized what we all know instictively: effective, even harsh bondage is far more dramatically compelling than loosies. True reactions to being helpless are very different than "acted" ones. I share others' uncomfortableness with the fate of the characters in the movie, but perhaps Naomi will raise the bar for other actresses in this kind of setting. |
