Severance
Just checked out Severance, a horror comedy about a group of workers sent to a cottage for a team building retreat. Two scenes in the movie of interest to us:

The first involves a fairly plain looking actress, bloodied up, tied to a tree. She has a stuff gag, secured by a rope wrapped around her head, also tied to the tree. Nice tie up, but not a good ending for her.

The second scene involves Laura Harris. She steps in a trap and is suspended upside-down by one leg. Lots of struggling as she is terrorized by a baddie. Too bad the roles weren't reversed. Laura Harris is a cutie, and has never had the full treatment.

Both pics are at the following links.

Next week shows her, another female, and Baldwin getting captured by the bad guys and Chuck has to save them. Could be another handcuff scene for her.

Was Dejah Thoris ever B&G in the "John Carter of Mars" books?

On the very last page of book 8, 'Swords of Mars', she shows up saying that she just freed herself from being bound and gagged (Carter thought she was dead)

For our tastes, book 7, 'A Fighting Man of Mars,' is better, both female protagonists, Sanoma Tora and Tavia, get the treatment, IIRC.

In the comic book version published by Marvel in the late 70s a woman i'm fairly sure was Dejah Thoris was overpowered by gueards and lay bound and gagged on the floor for one panel, then chains were clamped on her wrists and she was carried off to a cell - issue 27 if memory serves

Putz interference aside, not a bad scene. On-screen gagging, she makes some minor noises. While gagged, she helps remove the putz's gag which leads to some gag talk and a few smiles from her. Some nice closeups.

Commentary has her on a speaker phone and when asked about the scene, she asks "Is that where we get gagged?"

The JLA gals on display
In this week's JLA #14 (due in-store October 17th), the ongoing storyline about Luthor and cronies capturing the JLA continues, with at least one large double-page spread with three evidently unconscious heroines bound AOH in futuristic restraints, courtesy of artist Ed Benes: Wonder Woman (and her chest), Hawkgirl (and her butt), and Black Canary (and her fishnetted legs and thonged butt-- the only one actually gagged, unfortunately). There may be more in the remaining pages, too.

There's a large preview available here:

http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Oct07/previews/JLA_14.html

The cover (also pictured there) features "Clockwork Orange" style restraint for a mixture of the male and female members of the group, with Ian Churchill doing the honors this time.

Untraceable - Diane Lane possibility
Here's a trailer for the upcoming Diane Lane thriller Untraceable:

http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-us&vid=5f8f582d-038e-45eb-a7ca-be8c8748170b

Warning - the trailer is a major putz-fest. However, this movie looks like it has huge potential for a Diane Lane scene.

Would love to see it. I think she's one of the hottest 40-plus actresses out there.

Scene from an older film with Corey Feldman. Cute actress thickly cleave-gagged and hands tied in front with lots of rope.

Thanks but I need a clarification: I didn't notice until now that two of the latest updates are entitled "German movie"; I was actually asking about the one in the right column that features two damsels sitting at a table, not the other in the left column that features one sitting in a chair with another coming to rescue her.

The gagged JLA-ette is Black Canary. That makes sense, of course, 'cause if you aren't going to gag BC in *some* manner, don't bother tying her up (or mutant-cuffing her, adamantium chaining her, super-latex encasing her, etc., etc.).

Query: has Lex caught Zatanna? She'll need gagging too. (To Zatanna, every gag is a magic gag, 'cause gag spelled backwards is "gag".) ;-)

Guiding Light - Mandy Bruno
Regarding the ongoing kidnap plot involving Mandy Bruno's character on Guiding Light, a promo during today's Bold and the Beautiful detailing what's coming up this week on the CBS soaps showed a couple new shots of Mandy Bruno. In one, the black guy who kidnapped her is talking on the phone, and Mandy is visible in the background, still with the same white knotted gag in her mouth. It's implied in the promo that the black guy is setting up a meeting alone with the blonde chick who is on his trail, and there is another shot of the black guy shoving Mandy on a peer - she's still with the same gag, but her arms are inexplicably free.

Long story short, the Mandy Bruno scene should resume this week.

Which is why Lori Loughlin's gagless scene when she guest-starred as Black Canary in Birds of Prey ("Sins of the Mother") was so frustrating to me.

Not only did it not make sense that a run-of-the-mill hoodlum would come up with a high-tech collar designed to prevent the Canary Cry -- it's totally unnecessary.

World -- no make that galaxy-class supervillains such as Lex Luthor and Baron Harkonnen, with unlimited financial resources AND enslaved R&D drones at their disposal, find the low-tech plug-gag to be quite sufficient to silence Black Canary or Bene Gesserits.

Umm, now I have to wonder whether a Brian's Pager with too much time on their hands will create a palindrome involving "Gag" and "DiD"...
