That's just me, though. And taping soap operas for the chance of someone ending up with duct tape on her mouth isn't strange? Lets face it, as hobbies go, ours is a little out there. |

Saturday November 17 09:10:23 2007 Bondage Philosophy 101 |
Speaking of the good "H," I just noticed that he included the director commentary from the 1974 film "Lifespan" on one of his new DVDs. (Nice topless-'n'-panties onscreen tying, BTW.) I found it intriguing enough to deserve a transcript, so here goes. "My basic theory about bondage, okay, is that the reason men like to tie up women is because the women can't protect their breasts then, and the breasts are a life support form, so that, in a way, bondage is a desire for immortality. Now, I tried actually to pursue this line of business with the British censor who didn't want me saying that it was...and I got nowhere with them on that, but I do believe it's a sort of atavistic baby thing that you...it's a way of keeping the supply of milk around. So, on those grounds, I thought it was valid. And then, because I'd been interested in Crick and Watson and all of that and this was sort of really a sort of really a college humor type thing, I thought it would be fun to have him tie her up in a double helix knot, because the double helix is, you know, the way the commands to the body, how the body develops. It is the secret of life, which was the title of the film in French." Just so you know why you're weird. (Of course, there are other theories as well, but we'll save them for the next semester.) |

Yes, I wrote an article about this bit of bondage from Lifespan, complete with diagrams and arrows showing who was the guilty party and so forth, and ... vidcaps ... plenty of vidcaps of Ms. Aumont being tied up. She ties up well. Check out the homepage link for evidence. And remember, it's for the sake of SCIENCE, man! |

I agree that our desire to see damsels in distress is probably embedded in our genes somehow. As an aside, the actress from Lifespan, the adorable and sexy Tina Aumont, passed away last year at age 60. She was also in "Modesty Blaise." I seem to remember a bondage scene in that flick also, but I may be mistaken. Anyway, may she rest in peace. |

(In fact, I kinda had you in mind when I did the transcription.) Nice work on the page. The director's quote might make a good addition, though if you go that route, make sure to remove my accidental doubling-up of the "really a sort of" part. (D'oh.) |

Cute scene but could anyone tell me what was going on there? It just confused me. Why was she bound and gagged? |
Saturday November 17 21:04:18 2007 Comment on "Flash Gordon" and "Heroes" |
The next episode of "Flash Gordon" includes a plot-line that is likely to generate some type of scene where the main female lead, "Dale", is restrained. The previews indicate that "Dale" is "taken over" by some alien entity and behaves "oddly". These types of plotlines often end up with the character being restrained to avoid them from hurting or otherwise injuring the "host", in this case "Dale". As regards the up-coming episode of "Heroes", I noticed that the preview shows the cheerleader looking as if in shock while an off-camera character, appearing as the father of the cheerleader, grabs a roll of duct tape. The cut-away, however, was so rapid that I would not be surprised if this was merely a device to introduce suspense and that the duct tape will not be used on the cheerleader, but perhaps someone else or for another entirely benign purpose. Mainstream shows seem to have a habbit of hinting at certain, um, "perverse", concepts only to back away quickly almost as if admonishing the viewer (and sometimes the character in question) for even having thoughts along those lines (when in fact the ideas were not truly perverse in that it's common enough for a wide audience group to "get it"). |

The preview was for the final three episodes, so it may or may not presage what it on tap for next week. We know there will be tie-up for her and Kristen Bell (Electric Girl) from caps. Also, that wasn't her father, that was Bob, Kristen's father, which is good as it matches the caps. |
