Definitely the same for me. I remember how much time I spent as a youth perusing through each new TV Guide looking for scenes..like the Gilligan's Island "How to be a Hero..".

Then I found Detective mags in newstands and thought hmm..gotta be something to this. I don't know how I found Brian's Page either, but he was one of the first and, still, best.

The Women's Murder Club
...and speaking of DiD-scenes this half-season...

Those of you following The WMC on ABC will remember the teaser/cliffhanger at the very end of the last new episode (last week). Lindsay Boxer (Angie Harmon's character) learned that (apparently) the "lipstick killer" has chosen her as his next victim!! (Is that what they call him?) The cops (or was it the newspaper?) were sent a photo of Lindsay with her lips sewn shut!! So... one new episode left, I think, whenever thery get around to airing it.

Let's hope the writer's strike is resolved... YESTERDAY!!... so we can get on with it. I'm betting there will be either a season cliffhanger with Lindsay in jeopardy (possibly captured by the killer), or something similar. Fingers crossed!

Seriously, don't obsess over the seasonal or half-seasonal DiD-scorecard. DiD scenes are *ALWAYS* few & far between in real time. It's only in hindsight that "Lost World" seems like it was rife with female cast members writhing in bondage, Agent Scully got herself kidnapped on a "regular" basis, etc., etc. Frustration is the norm.

Re: How did you find Brians Page?
Shortly after I got an Internet account in 2000, I typed "Bondage" into a search engine, which was probably Alta Vista, and this forum was among the first entries to appear. One thing led to another. :-)

My earliest interest in the tie-up thing was at age 4, influenced by illustrations in books for kids. There were rather a lot of those in the UK back in the '50s; getting tied up seemed to be part of any decent adventure!

Then, on a neighbour's TV c.1955, in a live BBC transmission of a show probably lost forever, there was a full-face shot of a beautiful lady struggling and tossing her head in a tight white OTM gag - cheeks bulging, nose stretching, the lot - and I knew what turned me on. For good or ill, that was it. I don't remember anything else about that show.

Have to agree from a US standpoint. The quality or duration of scenes hasn't been very good or made them memorable.
Keep seeing good scenes coming from European sources, but US tv / films have not provided much this fall. Writer's strike doesn't help matters. Films haven't had many scenes either. Hope 2008 pans out a little better.
Maybe we all have become too de-sensitized to DID scenes.

How did you find Brian's page?
"Turned left at Greenland"

Seriously, found brian's page from other links back in 99/2000. VVV, Steve's old site, etc.... One or several of them led here. Came in, sat down and never left.

A long time fan
I've been a fan of this site since the late 90's. I've never posted, just religiously logged in every day and enjoyed the posting of others. I started enjoying damsels in distress back in the 60's and my favorite was a tv show titled "Honey West" with Anne Francis. In fact I still recall the one episode when she was bound and gagged and placed inside a large box. Since this is my first post I thought I should contribute something...I came across a website detailing that Reese Witherspoon has been casted in the lead role to play Honey West. As you all say...let's keep our fingers crossed. And may I add a thanks to Brian for this great page.

I think there have been bright spots but you may be right overall. The recent nude bondage scene on "Saving Grace" was about the BEST nude bondage scene on TV, ever. Well lit, lengthy, and they showed her butt. I would have preferred that Vida Guerra had been the damsel, but she probably wouldn't have done much of an action job, and Holly Hunter's acting brought a lot of humor to the scene.

There was also that weird spate of talk show bondage in August, which did feature Chelsea Handler in nude bondage (with bicycle!). Maybe a dozen eps of talk show host bondage in all of TV history, and four of them happen in one month this year, including that first-ever nude bondage scene. Aboslutely weird!

But overall the opportunities for DiD scene haven't been around as much. Wish we had more action/adventure series like we did back in the 90s. But those have been deemed expensive and can only be done by wealthy cable networks like the SciFi Channel, the big broadcast networks can't afford ... hey, wait a minute! ...

Re: King of the Road alert
Tapemaster has posted an alert for "King of the Road" on the Chiller cable channel for 6pm EST today, in which he says:

"Although the scene is very brief, it's notable as one of the rare uses of a ball gag on series television. "

Actually, according to my records, it's notable as the FIRST use of a ball gag on network television in the US. The absolute firstest. I've cited it as the first on my "First In Bondage" article for years, and nobody has ever come up with a counterclaim for an earlier scene. And believe me, if anyone would know, the crowd on Brianspage would know, and they helped me put the listing together.

The movie has been stuck in 'development hell' since 2001 and will probably never be made.

My favorite scene as a kid, and the first one that I went out of my way to watch-- can't recall if I had just seen the commercials, or if it was summer rerun, but I remember sneaking out of bed to the TV room upstairs just to see it.

RE: How I Found Brian's Page
I first found Brian's Page, directly or indirectly, through Lorelei's Bedroom Bondage site. I was always more interested in mainstream movie/tv bondage (and when I say "always," I means since from about the age of five probably, when I first saw a handgag and subsequent b&g scene on some soap opera). Back in 1998, however, I had no idea that websites dedicated to this very interest existed, so I searched for commercial bondage sites instead and came across Lorelei. From there I found this site and from this site to some of my favorites that have shut down since: Grumpy’s was the first I encountered, followed by the “Bound for Hollywood” page at Bondage Life, Honky's, Van's Video Vault, Rob’s Damsels, Frank’s Attic and Steve's DiD’s to name a few. (BTW, I always enjoyed the fact that Rob & Van didn’t just offer the vidcaps, but a running commentary on some or all aspects of the scene and sometimes the movie itself – nice touch, gentlemen!) Yeah, the resources I found for my longtime interest were simply unbelievable!

And this is where I can understand Abel's fears about having this interest "ruin his life." I had the same fear, but for (presumably) different and varied reasons: at the time I discovered this site I was still a virgin and, on top of that, was fairly convinced that my only means of satisfaction was through bondage (and even then almost exclusively through mainstream DiD bondage). So, the longer I went finding mainstream vidcaps while simultaneously not finding a sexual partner, the more I became convinced that I would have to give up this hobby in order to feel "normal" (as opposed to feeling incredibly self-conscious about having such a "deviant" sexual interest, that is). I believe the composition of individual human beings is so complex, there may be no way for any of us - not even ones like me who had (and still have to a much lesser degree) similar issues with this interest - to truly understand what Abel is experiencing. We simply don't know with what kinds of "demons" (for lack of a better word) Abel is wrestling, which is the only reason I would suggest that making off-the-cuff remarks, no matter the intention, is probably not a good idea in this instance. All I can do is wish the man well and hope he finds what he's looking for, whether it involves tv/movie bondage or not.

As for me, well, the situation is still a bit complicated, but ultimately positive. After briefly dating a couple of girls about three years after finding this website and not getting anywhere near the point of being able to share this interest with them, I met somebody who I felt could handle it all. How lucky was I? It turns out she had been waiting ten years to meet somebody seriously interested enough in bondage to tie her up and indulge her most well-kept desires; the funny thing was, she didn't quite know what to think of the whole "mainstream media/DiD" aspect to my interest in bondage. It took a while, but not only did she eventually understand my interest, she started making lists of her favorite scenes and asking me if we could watch them as well! Holy utopia, Batman! Yeah, it was great while it lasted, but, sadly, there seems to be more to making a relationship work than having a mutual interest in bound & gagged women. Then again, I’m not exactly a genius when it comes to dating, so maybe there isn’t! The important thing for me is that, while there likely will always be some level of internal conflict regarding this interest of mine and when and how (or if) I share it with somebody I’m dating, I am much more comfortable living with it now (especially compared to just a few years ago) – and Brian’s Page has played a big part in this transition. So thanks especially to Brian for hosting this forum and to all the contributors as well. I’m sorry this message went on for so long, but as strange as it is to post something this personal, I thought it was important so that all visitors to this site understand the complex and diverse ways this interest can affect some people’s personal lives. Thanks for listening.

Yes, I find it highly amusing how BDSM bondage-stuff is actually more mainstream and aceptable than "mainstream" bondage scenes in actual tv shows and movies... which are so prevalent that I can *almost* see why some people on this board feel there must be a "conspiracy" involved when there is no bondage scenes with specific actresses. But I think normal people are so indoctrinated into seeing bondage in mainstream media that they cannot comprehend it as being arousing to someone (and if they do, they can only see it being arousing to someone as a means-to-and-ends type of thing, i.e., we like tied up girls because we really want to rape them). It is I think one of the only fetishes that is not understood at all or accepted because it is, to be honest, sort of a "square" fetish.

Anyway, I found this site from I think Van's old site (I loved the mystery science theater run-downs on the scenes too) and possibly from commercial bondage sites, which didn't interest nearly as much.

Re: How did you find Brians Page?
I think most of us who grew up pre-internet went through a similar pattern.
1) Saw bondage on TV and in movies and knew you liked it at a young age. I remember Batgirl, Land of the Giants and Daniel Boone scenes triggering my interest.
2) Trying on your own to catch whatever scenes you could find on TV, with limited help from the TV Guide and previews of next episodes.
3) Discovering that the VCR could help you tape scenes and compile your own bondage tapes.
4) Finding "bondage life" and the "Bound For Hollywood" column. It came out four times a year and that column was the best help we had for a while. It was a very exciting moment when you saw that the new issue made it into the stores.
5) Discovering the internet and typing bondage terms in search engines until you hit on Brianspage, the all-time greatest resource for fans of mainstream bondage. If Brian hadn't started this page someone else probably would have but I doubt if he would have done a better job of it. Thanks Brian.

Certainly memory tends to make things better (or worse) than they really were, but you can look at a lot of old series on the data base and find seasons with three or four scenes quite often. This HAS been a pretty bad year. There were the usual number of opportunities, it seemed, but a lot fewer hits. And things look to be really bad for the next nine months. Unless of course one of the reality show replacements votes off contestants by "which hottie will be the last to make it to the phone across the room while all tied up?" Yeah, dreamin' - it's all we got right now.

Ah, but Pat, this is Brianspage & we do!
Just the boy here stuck trying to ID.
Roughly, 2 Italian, 2 German beauts and 3 Hong Kong ready for passaround.

All part of that secondary scoring you hear talked about on TV.

Btw: Admit 2 of the HK are 97% Romance, but all that will be edited out so just the Action left. So technically, they count. ;)

Well, I published the article years ago on my Jolly Roper site, republished it a year or two ago on my Bondagerotica site, and haven't had a single email about its being inaccurate.

By comparison, I recently misidentified Chloe Hunter as Rachel Hunter in reference to her scene in the movie "Spun" and within a couple of days had a correction. Same thing happened when I misidentified Elke Sommer as Swedish (she's German).

I'm pretty confident that if anyone knew of a previous ballgag scene on mainstream TV, I'd have heard from them by now.

Oh, I also did a search on Brian's Page for prior ball gag scenes in mainstream TV. Nada.

Yes, I rented this DVD, and my advice to you is to not waste your time. The picture of the gagged girl on the DVD box is intended to entice people to rent the movie, but the bondage depicted on it occurs nowhere in the movie. I barely recall any bondage in the movie, which was originally made for television.

There was a song played on the soundtrack about Julia during the aftermath that was amusing; part of the lyrics: "..I won't be a damsel in distress.." Too bad for us.

On the brighter side: The akwardly-named actress that plays "Eden", AnnaLynne McCord, is appearing in "Slaughter" scheduled for release in 2008. The synopsis on IMDB is very promising:

"A young actress travels to a remote location to shoot a film, only to discover she and her co-stars have been cast in a Japanese snuff film and must fight to survive."

Don't care for the snuff but I'm hoping at least shibari figures into this.

If this is the one with Eric Roberts then yes I've seen this one and it has a decent but not great scene in it. I think the damsel gets a tape gag in this one. It's worth a rental but not a buy unless you can get it real cheap. Of course this is just MHO.
