| I apologize if this is old news but the recent Maroon Five video "Wake Up Call" is making it's rotation around the various networks (Fuse, MTV, etc.) The video plays like a trailer for an action film which contains two 'blink and you'll miss it scenes.' The better of the two contains two damsels bound and cleave gagged on the back of a boat. The other contains two damsels at least bound in the back of a van. In the second scene, which in not well lit, it is questionable whether or not the damsels or gagged. |

Uh... are you seriously suggesting that the damsel-in-distress is common in action/adventure/crime shows IN ORDER TO TURN US ALL ON? Are all the characters on TV wearing shoes in order to excite foot fetishists? Are Vanessa Marcil's boobs on Vegas just to excite us? (...Okay, I'll give you that one.) The DiD as a cultural stereotype probably has more to do with the Hero's Journey and the role of the Bride-Princess as the Hero's Reward, but that's beside the point. They're writing stories to entertain us (and get rich) and (dare I say it?) for the sake of art. OF COURSE it's about the plot. If a damsel gets tied up and gagged, it's a plot element! Only commercial bondage videos are *ABOUT* bondage. |

| Just caught Elizabeth Taylor's short comedy DID scene in "The Flintstones". I realize that she had reached the 'grande damme' stage of her carreer when she filmed that, but it got me thinking about how many other truly "A List", name above the title, movie legends have had scenes AFTER they were MAJOR stars. Claudette Colbert, Joan Crawford, and Faye Dunaway come immediately to mind. Anymore ????? Early career, just starting out scenes don't count. Flavor of the month, young cult favorite actresses don't count. Just real big time Oscar Winner/Nominee stars that are recognized by the film gurus as major classic stars. |

Is there a good scene? This was discussed here a lot with pictures and trailer links. But few have seen it because it hasn't been released yet and has shown in only a couple of small festivals. IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes usually has the release info on everything; in this case RT lists the release date as Dec 4 2007 direct to DVD. |

I think os a gag as something to keep the damsel (relatively) silent so as to not call out for help (or get too mouthy with her captor). Chloe's "gag" was more utilitarian...it was a device to hold her mouth open so all those tubes & stuff could go into her. Would this be truely considered a "gag"? |

Ok, just watched the video On Demand. A bit of bad news about the 2nd scene in question. I'm about 95% sure the people in the back of the van/car are not gagged. Bad news: I believe 1 of the "damsels" is a guy/putz. |
