Thanks for the alert. Episode is available at the CBS web site. Tape-gag was a bit sloppy and I can think of half a dozen actresses on that show I'd like to see gagged over Maura West, who does look better with her new hairstyle. |
Saturday August 11 04:41:49 2007 I guess a DiD is overused...according to some |
I came across this list of "Worst Action Movie Cliches" in AOL's movie section and here is what was number 2
"The Female Hostage: It's no secret that men rule action movies in Hollywood. But could we start getting more creative with women's roles in them? Do they always have to be taken hostage? To make matters worse, the female's captivity is always announced at the same point: when our hero has the bad guy right where he wants him (with a gun to his head, hanging upside down outside a skyscraper, etc). Cue the phone call from the villain's associates, the nervous hostage crying for help. At least sometimes they fight back." I guess they would like a bunch of putzfests in Hollywood. |

Sometimes, directors read movie reviews and use the "advice" they contain ("No more female captives! We're sick of that cliche!"). Thank God for soap operas and crime TV shows. |

Fortunately, it's still good business including a classic DID in films; it brings in the men who still like to feel they have a little power left in today's world -- not to mention DID fans like us (some know we're out here). |

Saturday August 11 10:44:00 2007 Question For CSI aka Les Experts Fans? |
Working on two DB Entries for Hong Kong CSI,
Like alittle assist from the CSI fans 1 scene) Similar of- In/around the 50min mark, the other CSI's stumped and Sheldon always shows up with something he analysed that narrows it down to one guilty person: The HK CSI's appeared to figure (by teeth marks?), two maids had actually tied each other up. Gagged themselves, one tied, then the tied one used her mouth to tie the other. (Re-enactment abit clearer than the original US CSI's here) Does anyone recall this plot? DB missing it? Or just one they broke from copying US plots? === Other scene) A Horatio type scene where the CSI catches the villain, dismantles a bomb, performs life saving surgery on scene all by himself - (Got to be a CSI Miami one?) They got a serial killer whom an obvious kook, but just clever enough not to leave them evidence. So the CSI team follows him on his date. One CSI recognises the guy has disguised himself and now carrying a suitcase. Goes after by himself, they scrap, CSI loses and gets tie-wrapped. Sure enough, tie wrapped girl/date gets dumped out of the suitcase-bag. He then put a plastic bag over her head before the other CSIs bust in I figure may be working off CSI: Miami, Ep: "Extreme"? But if anyone recalls one more similar? Let know on DB Corrections. Humourous thing, these the few plots I didn't recognise. There afew exact, solved exact as US I almost clipped for laughs. The lead also has his sunglasses and poses on cliffs and buildings. Not over yet, so still time to dismantle a bomb by himself When get this passed around, bet Brian R cracks open a "Bud" and sits down to watch and starts laughing his arse off. Same most here |

The first such scene that comes to mind is the "Level 9" scene with a tape gagged Leslie Hope being joined by a very gregarious putz near the middle of the show. At one point Ms. Hope's character is clearly annoyed by her companion's babbling - great stuff. I'm sure there are plenty of others, but that scene from "Level 9" stands out so much I forget the others. |

I think all the big name ones have been bound and gagged at least twice in their careers. Even sexy weather chica Jackie Guerrido was bound and gagged in front of her own weather map on Despierta America. |

Saturday August 11 18:27:34 2007 Girls of War movie released |
For non-gag snobs: The "Girls of War" movie I posted about a few weeks back was released today. I downloaded all 3 parts, and for 35 of the 45 minutes of the movie, wrestling hottie Valerie Wyndham ("SoCal Val") is tied up and tortured by being smacked, punched, choked, and hit with a billy club, all the while very sweaty and wearing a very revealing bikini top and thong as you can see in the collage below.
Parts 2&3 have most of the action with Val tied wrists overhead (AOH) while she gets her due. Part 1 only has Val handcuffed arms behind and smacked around then taunted with a gun. I'm lovin these Ringdivas Heroine Destruction movies. |

It's actually come up a few times here, though obviously not so much as it would if had delivered to date on its palpable DiD potential. Then again, we're only seven episodes in. No entries for Gabrielle Anwar in Brian's DB other than a handgag-only scene in the 1993 film Body Snatchers. I'm a fan as well. It's terrifically enjoyable, escapist summer entertainment. I grew up with "MacGyver," "The Equalizer," and "The A-Team," and "Burn Notice" is all about distilling those shows -- thankfully without omitting their cheesier and more preposterous aspects -- into a 21st-century format, i.e. one featuring an ongoing plot arc that the show-runner has promised to wrap up by the end of season one. It's been generating some impressive ratings for the USA network, so I hope it'll be around for a while (and produce a scene or ten for Ms. Anwar.) |

Sounds like the first one contains the scene with the bad girl yanking her around by the hair and fondling her with the gun. That so? |
