Into the Blue gag comments in reviews
A couple reviewers mentioned the bondage in the "Into the Blue" reviews at rottentomatoes.com. Here's two I found:

"With a new ship and equipment, they could make a real splash. But what of those criminals who want their drugs back or the shark that's getting hungry for a bad-actor snack? As expected, from the villains our friends can't escape. Soon Alba's lovely lips are sealed tight with duct tape."

This one is the best one:

"The last act features double-dealing, chases on sea and land, some damsel-in-distress....It might even make you glad that later on, Alba has to spend a portion of the picture bound and--more importantly--gagged.)"

Title: Alias
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Tung

Description: Episode: "The Box", Part 2 (1.13)

As heroine Sydney Bristow, Garner has her hands bound behind her with a plastic cable tie for a few scenes between about 0:39 and 0:47. Fairly lengthy scene (about 4 minutes of on-screen time). She does a fair bit of ass kicking with her hands behind her back near the end of the scene.

Tung plays a double agent whom Sydney doesn't know if she can trust her, so she ties her to a post with a cable tie (implied only) and cleave-gags her with partner Vaughan's tie. Cleave gag goes around head and around pole. She's tied up at 0:30 and rescued about three minutes later, between which time the knot in the gag mysteriously disappears.

I have a feeling the "gagged" comment is due more to the reviewer's opinion of her acting than any DiD viewing desire.
I doubt said reviewer is "one of us".

Threshold alert
From VCR alerts page. I don't know how tonight's episode could be seen by someone yet, but at least one thing is off. "Threshold" airs at 9 p.m. eastern, not 8, on CBS.

Time: 8:00 pm Eastern
Channel: CBS
Threshold CBS new show has a scene with pretty good footage of girl who is bound and gagged in her house by man who escapes from asylum. She is tied hand and fooot and cloth gagged. Scene occurs about roughly fiftteen minutes and it intercuts back to her and leads up to her being rescued and ungagged by science team who chases ailiens.

Lost
Noone has mentioned Wednesday's continuation of the Lost cliffhanger where Kate disappeared into the hatch last week, so I thought I'd chime in.

Turns out that Locke, at gunpoint, is forced to tie Kate's hands behind her back (no gag). With much protest, she's tied, then pushed into a dark storage room. A few minutes later there's a nice 2 minute scene scene that's shown in its entirity with Kate lying on the floor struggling furiously to get loose. Eventually she pulls her tied arms under her butt and pulls her legs through them, leaving her arms in front. Then she cuts them loose with a knife.

Although I normally don't go for gagless scenes, this one is a keeper IMHO, with lots of struggling & huffing from Kate. Since she's in a dark room, the lighting is rather poor though.

"Chupacabra"...It's baaaack!
I just posted an alert for Sci Fi's rerun of "Chupacabra: Darks Seas", skedded for Saturday at 9:00 pm. I'm guessing it's the better part of 6 months since it premiered, but this is the first rerun. It was almost as if Sci Fi's folks figured that we were crazy enough about Chelan Simmons [true!!] that if they stalled more of us would buy the DVD...FYI, the cheapest price that I've found for said DVD is $19.50, so as a matter of principle, I have indeed been amongst the "stallers."

The image is from Marvel's new "Black Widow" miniseries "The Things They Say About Her". Haven't picked up issue #1 yet, and I'm not sure where or if this image occurs in the comics (I have seen cover previews through issue #4, and it's not any of them). It may just be a piece of publicity art.

Into the Blue another view
Just saw the movie. I thought the scene was excellent, more than lived up to the promotion. My comparison here would be the scene was very similar to Jennifer Garner's tape-gag scene in "Alias" as far as setup, bad guy taunting, closeups and head turns. If you liked that, you'll like this.

The scene plays out after Alba is double crossed. There's no KO or grabbing, just a stunned look. Later, Paul Walker calls the cell phone and Brolin answers. We get many good closeups of Alba tape-gagged and she turns her head several times, showing the tape-gag is wrapped around her head. Later, in the scene from the trailer where Brolin says "give me the coordinates," that scene continues and we see Alba in a decent mid-range shots. In the same scene, we get more extreme closeups as that one fades out, including a shot with tears streaming down Alba's eyes. She also sucks in her tape-gag a few times in the closeups.

In the second scene, Alba is shown from behind lying on her stomach face down cuffed to a dead guy. Walker is brought in and Alba lifts her face revealing she is still gagged. More extreme closeups as the dialogue ensues. When they leave the room, Alba staggers up, removes her gag and cuts the arm off of the dead guy to get loose. The cuff then dangles from her wrist for the rest of the climax.

The production stills released don't match in most instances, including the one where Alba is shown not gagged with Brolin's arm around her while he holds the cell phone. Not in the movie. Also, the second still with Alba's wide-eyed expression looking into the camera while tape-gagged on the ground also does not appear, just similar shots and the gag is a little wrinkled at that point.

I reported same about a week ago, and everyone 'climbed all over me' - LAST of the movie alerts for me - the Jessica Alba lobby just refuses to embrace reality - so-so/typical grey duct tape scene - time to get over it.

I don't remember anyone climbing all over you (except one person who thought your post was a hoax). I thanked you for the information. My long post was simply a longer version of what you said. I think most posters would prefer more details to less details.

Yes, it was a standard duct-tape job. And for Jessica Alba fans, I think they will really like the scene.

Not tied, big manacle handcuffs. Several quick shots over 5 minutes, good lighting. The "Damsel" is River Tam, played by Summer Glau, and an earlier shot has her strapped into a chair for mind-control & brainwashing, similar to her scenes in the FIREFLY series. Great Movie! Go see it!

There were some abusive deleted posts from people who couldn't accept that the scene wasn't what they hoped.

Into the Blue
I'm very ambivalent about the Jessica Alba scene in Into the Blue, which I just saw. On the one hand, it's nice to see a long scene in a mainstream movie with good lighting, plenty of close ups, and some moaning. On the other hand, THE GAG... It's so loose. At one point, little miss Jessica seems to be struggling to keep the thing ON!
Obviously, she's gorgeous, and a bad gag is better than no gag. Still, when all is said and done, it's a thumbs down from me.

Eh, probably not. The blood's just a matter of cloning some of her skin tone from elsewhere in the pic. A gag would be an addition that would come off looking fake (at least at my skill level). It's possible one of the regular fakers that reads here might do it, though.

The escaped guy just tricked the pretty young babe, dressed rather scantily, into letting him into her house. Went to commercial with her getting handgagged and forced further into the house...

So you'll want to start taping at the :17 mark on the west coast.

Yeah, this turned out to be a very good scene, IMO. Hot actress, scantly clad, tight OTM gag, lots of mmmphing and plenty of close-ups.

It was also fairly long, relatively speaking... nice to see a scene of respectable length in this era of blink-and-you-miss it.

Here's a hint for people wanting to get this scene (or any other scene, for that matter): I didn't tape it, I'm just going to get it off bittorrent later. Why? Because the files people upload to bittorrent sites are almost always downconverted HD-rips. You'll find the quality is substancially better than anything you'll get with a tape. All you need is a fast internet connection, a torrent client (such as bittorrent) and about 300mb per episode. I actually wish more people were uploading full HD-rips to the torrent networks... sure, the file sizes would be pushing a gig. But most newer machines can play native HD compatible WMV files. HD is truly amazing, too... you get your DiDS in 1280x720 resolution, MUCH more detail than the accursed 640x480 of VHS and the 320x240 (or worse!) you find on the yahoo groups and hosts here (that's not an insult... they have to keep resolutions low to keep file sizes, and thus bandwidth, down).

This episode will probably find its way onto the torrent streams in a few hours, a day max.

I sorta watched Numbers and here's what I saw.

Very early, a polaroid photo of the wife and daughter taped back to back and tape gagged.

Late middle, a different polaroid photo with more of a closeup of the wife tape gagged.

In the last few minutes, the two females were found taped back to back in chairs. Ungagged. Very quick shot.

Torrents are watched by MPAA and you can get nasty letters if you're in the USA.
alt.binaries.hdtv on the other hand... Only problem is that most of the stuff on there isn't 350mb per episode, but 1.5 gig or bigger (like up to 4.5) Much better quality of course, which is never a bad thing.
BTW, link goes to a 720p sample picture. That is native resolution for the movie, it isn't zoomed in or a still or anything (and yes, it kicks ass)

So she gets captured and handgagged at the 17 minute mark and works her gag off at the 44 minute mark. Is there footage of her bound and gagged between those two points?
