Sunday September 11 07:20:01 2005 damsels used as bait |
In the serial Congo Bill I remember the only bondage scene in the fifteen episodes was the damsel tied to a tree, OTM gagged and waiting for the hero to arrive. As I recal the trap was a noose laying by the lady's feet. The hero was about to do his untying routine when loop closed around his foot and hoisted him into the air. All ended well.
I haven't seen this sequence since the early 50s. Does anyone have any caps? Another sequence worthy of note in more recent times is the Blake Seven episode called 'Duel' where Jena is tied hands behind and cleve gagged at the foot of a large tree. Hovering over head is a spiked rack. There are plenty of close-ups and struggling as Blake moves in for the rescue. He manages to scramble himself and his struggling companion to safety before the spikes hit the ground. Both scenes in different era's are good examples of generous footage when damsels are used as bait. Let's hope we see a lot more in the future. From alan a down under. |

There has not been anything since Wednesday's scene, so perhaps a wrap up on Monday. I don't expect to last long and it's kind of a loosie, but it's nice nonetheless. |

Am I the only one who liked the Kim Raver scene? So what if there was a putz?! She's a hot babe with great legs and happened right in the FIRST EPISODE! I thought I'd have to wait til the end of the season to see her in distress! |

I bet many of you would have liked to watch the presentation of the designer label "Imitation of Christ" during the New York fashion week. They came up with the idea to send their models on the catwalk in handcuffs. |

Pity the shots don't really focus on the restraints - well, I suppose they didn't design the handcuffs. Here's a better image - I became aware of the show through a German newspaper. |

Sunday September 11 17:34:49 2005 Great improv scenes |
You know how it is, you’re in your secret hideout plotting that Bullion heist/assassination/military coup when a snooping reporter dame is found hiding behind a crate. You have to restrain her while you carry out your plan but wouldn’t you know it you left your rope and duct tape in your other hideout. What do you do?
My favourite damsel in distress scenarios involve what I like to call improvised restraints – neckties, scarfs, whatever comes to mind. Here are a few that I am particularly fond of, can anyone name any other good examples. Dynasty – Heather Locklear gets a late night visit from an ex-lover but her hopes for a night of passion are cut short when he gags her with his necktie and ties herhands & feet with her discarded pantyhose. She really should put her dirty washing away before going to bed. Five to One – obscure Edgar Wallace mystery movie, towards the end two villains overpower the lady of the house who is holding them at gunpoint and removing their neckties bind her wrists and ankles, later they gag her with a tie from her husbands wardrobe. The Babysitter’s seduction – Keri Russell’s captor removes her pantyhose and uses them to tie her hands behind her back, if only she’d worn jeans she might have escaped. Honey I Blew up the Kid – Keri Russell again. What’s a teenage boy to do, left to mind his giant baby brother he finds out mom forgot to cancel the babysitter, how to stop her causing the panic? Well that blue rope Dad improvised the playpen out of can be put to other uses. Piggy in the Middle – Forgotten British sitcom, in one (1982?) episode Joanna van Gyseghem disturbs a burglar who uses neckties from the wardrobe to tie her hands behind her back and gag her. She assumes it’s her lover playing games at first and there’s some amusing banter as she submits to the tie up. My Favorite Spy – Ellen Drew and Jane Wyman both find themselves in turn tied and gagged with boas, belts and scarfs in the closet. Chandler & Co – Catherine Russell tied hand and foot with a length of flex, I think from a lamp. My Favorite Martian – Liz Hurley’s TV reporter is gagged and tied to a chair with scarfs. |

---- Thanks for the link. It looks like actress Scarlet Johanssen participated in the show, but alas, not in one of the roles w/ handcuffs. Unfortunately, because these designers have used this for their NY show, I suppose this means that Victoria's Secret WON'T use this concept for their annual show in November... |

My favourite damsel in distress scenarios involve what I like to call improvised restraints – neckties, scarfs, whatever comes to mind. ---- More bondage at the improv... In "Fatal Error" (1999) Janine Turner snoops into the basement of a digruntled technogeek (he probably once made the mistake of actually providing useful techie advice) and we see her get post-tied with computer cables, ribbon cable, and gagged with black electrical tape. In the category of gag-improvisation (excluding those stuff "gags" used for comedic effect), there's Alison Doody in the underrated "Temptation" (1994), gagged with a plastic explosive plus wraparound duct tape. Don't try this one at home. Unfortunately, my recollection was that "MacGyver" created his MacGyverisms to rescue damsels, rather than to B&g them... |

The improvised bondage scene that comes immediately to mind is Kate Jackson's scene in the "Magic Fire" episode of "Charlie's Angels". The Angels are hunting a technically adroit arsonist who starts fires by activating incendiary devices with a ringing telephone. Ms. Jackson inadvertently discovers the identity of the arsonist, who subsequently overpowers her, and uses the electrical cord from a lamp to bind her to a sofa. She is gagged with black electrician's tape. This is a memorable scene, with energetic struggling by Ms. Jackson. She is finally rescued by her colleagues; Cheryl Ladd pulls the tape from her mouth. |

Another improvisational bondage scene that comes to mind is the one from the defunct HBO comedy "First and Ten". The head coach is sent to the hospital, and is a very unwilling and intractable patient. He is assigned a meddlesome and overzealous, but very good-looking nurse, who regularly checks on him to make sure he is resting in his room. He is watching his team on television, and a critical situation arises during the game, one that necessitates his presence at the game. The meddlesome nurse catches him in his attempt to leave the hospital, and attempts to call security. He subsequently overpowers her, and restrains her with a folding bed. When she attempts to call for help, he gags her with a wad of gauze; she makes indignant noises through her gag. |

I just consulted the voluminous Scene Database to find out the name of the actress playing the nurse, only to discover, to my dismay, that there is no Entry for this scene. I'd compose an Entry, but have no way of finding out the name of the aforementioned actress who played the bound and gagged nurse. |

---- I think it was Jeremy Brett's The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes ("The Abbey Grange") where the improvised bondage WAS the key to Holmes solving the mystery. When the scene is re-enacted at the end of the episode, the viewer can see why Holmes immediately deduced that one of the "intruders" must have been an agile, athletic man -- probably used to working the riggings of sails -- in order to cut down the curtain sash. And the type of knots used pointed to a sailor. |

Sunday September 11 19:04:56 2005 Bones - CBS' new show |
This show appears to based on a series of books featuring the character Dr. Temperance Brennan, and in several of the books she gets a scene, including being hogtied in a burning house, or an excellent full treatment scene where she's stuff gagged...
So here's hoping the producers are faithful to the source material...which are very popular across the world... |

Steve is right that there is some decent stuff in a couple of the books of this series thus far..a series prolly about 7 or 8 books long right now. But buy them cuz they are terrific reads, not cuz of the tieups or you will be disappointed. The twist they gave this tv series is this: In real life, the author of the books, Kathy Reichs is a forensic anthropologist, and she wrote these novels starring her fictional lead, Temperance Brennan. On the series, the lead character, a forensic anthropologist, is Temperance Brennan, and in her spare time she writes novels about her fictional lead, Kathy Reichs. The old switcheroo! I have my fingers crossed for this one too. It looks like she may get herself into peril occasssionally from the clips I've seen, and the lead is stunning. |

Sunday September 11 22:35:20 2005 Minor West Coast alert for "Rome" on HBO |
A slave girl with her hands tied in front to a rope behind a wagon about half an hour in. There's a close-up shot of her being freed a bit later. Not much, but the first female-bondage scene this show has delivered. Just in case any of you decided to watch the football game instead and catch the late feed if anything popped.
Oh, and if your significant other-or you for that matter-gets off on whip-wielding women, the episode starts out with Polly Walker laying one good onto...well, I'd better not say. That'd be a little off-topic around these parts. |

Sunday September 11 22:56:20 2005 Cold Case? |
Did anyone catch "Cold Case" on CBS tonight? It was the season finale from last year. A killer pulls a gun on Kathryn Morris and says "time to head to the woods" as they faded out. It was 9 p.m. and I thought it was a cliffhanger until I realized after it was off-time because of tennis. Anyone catch this finale or the original broadcast? |
Sunday September 11 23:00:00 2005 west coast alert for Madrasta |
The mystery of the missing scene from the above novela is now solved. The missing scene our poster swore he'd heard of is in the special addenda episode picking up the series two years later. Ana Layevsky gets the full treatment in the last half hour as she is bound to a post and cleave gagged. Unfortunately for me I'm not crazy about cleaves but for those who are they'll probably love the scene which has many close-ups of her gagged lips. Most of the scene is in the last 15 minutes. The special starts at nine and runs for two hours. A must for cleave gag fans. |
