Tightest tape gag?
I'm a huge tape gag fan and I'm just wondering what scene you've seen has the tightest tape gag?

Althought it was a very unpleasant scene, the blonde damsel from 'The Bone Collector' is the tighest one I've seen

Yes we do. She's said it out and out on the show numerous times--at least five I can think of off the top of my head, and I'm hardly a regular viewer of The View.

What about Kristin Davis' scene in "A Deadly Vision"? She is securely bound to a couch with duct tape, and is gagged with a couple of strips drawn tightly across her mouth; the impression of her lips is visible.

Tied and True Tales updated (pictures & stories)
We're reaching the pointy end of the year and my stress levels are rising fast while I continue working on Melai's visa! In between everything, Priscilla and I actually found the time for another update… (working on Tied and True Tales helps keep me sane!) and it's another biggie with Part 3 of our "Rubber Bondage" gallery along with 'A Suitable Girl' (written in a "mirror" format for both bondage and rainwear fans!) from my pen along with the arrival of Brian Sands with his 'mini-site' here as well in-depth reviews of Lorelei's 'Bedroom Bondage' site and Sax Leather from Down Under!

I think the word "tight" can only apply to wraparound gags; the tightest of those I've seen is worn by Jodie Dry in episode "10" of the Aussie TV series "White Collar Blue". It's white or cream tape, wrapped tightly enough to bulge her cheeks all the way back to her ears! Her head looks almost like an egg timer. :-)

Good continuity, too. IIRC, it's just the same in more than one shot.

Simple tape gags are perhaps better described as snug or well sealed. Stretching the tape as you apply it is fine as long as it's really sticky and pressed firmly home. With luck, it should then conform to the lips. Produces great on-screen gagging shots, too, as the face is deformed by the pressure and tension.

It's particularly sweet if the damsel cooperates by compressing or sucking in her lips "Prime Suspect" and "High Risk" respectively) as the tape is applied.

Thin, supple medical or duct tape is probably the most conformal and effective. Best applied with little stretch and massaged in, it leaves no possible air pockets for the damsel to exploit in working the gag off, and the lip contours are clearly visible under it.

Most of the great examples are, I think, in European productions, where thin, very sticky tape such as original cloth Elastoplast or Leukoplast is used. We also have some excellent thin, floppy duct and gaffer tapes that look good as gags. They withstand a lot of grimacing and puffing.

Productions that come to mind are: "Opera" (Cristina Marsillach), "Der Sandmann" (forget actress's name, but awesome work with super-sticky medical tape), and the Polish movie "To my", featuring a long sequence of a very angry damsel emoting while wrapped in polythene sheet and gagged with thin duct tape that looks painted on, while fellow students pretend to bury her.

Re: Tightest tape gag?
Victoria Principal in Blind Witness is pretty amazing. An extremely tight brown parcel tape gag. Lots of emoting and wriggling from Victoria in this one.

Yes, I thought of that one just after I posted. Outstanding, even if the gag looks different in every shot. That's understandable as Victorian Principles was also directing the show.

Another nice wraparound is on Kate Vernon in "Battlestar Galactica". (Caps on Biff's site.) Thinner tape, pinched in around the lower edges to seal it to the jawline, would have been even better, but a definite A- for effort.

Wow! Directing a scene while bound and gagged? Colour me impressed! Just how, I wonder, did she yell cut with a tape gag on her mouth? Maybe she worked it out with the crew before hand. Like
"When I go, 'mmmmmmmmmmgh', that means 'action'! And when I go, 'mwwwwwwwwwug', that means 'cut'!"

That was very well sealed, but it was just one strip of tape. The onscreen gagging was part of the original scene shown on ABC, but deleted out in the Lifetime airings.

My entry would be Tracey Needham in "Jag." Meg is gagged with one strip of gaffer's tape and it looks like it's painted on her lips.

Re: Tightest tape gag?
A few to think of....

Suzanne Lothar in "Funny Games", gets gagged (and I mean gagged!) twice, the second time with a large amount of brown packing tape....... Sunshine Cruz in "Ekis".... Jessica Biel in "Ulee's Gold"

Since no one's mentioned it, is it safe to assume there was nothing with Meredith and the bounty hunter of The View today?

Victoria Principle in blind witness is the best tape gag to me , and I think she wrote that script for that one

I'm thinking the same. This was an awesomely tight tape gag wound many times (on screen I think) around her face.

Thanksgiving Day Picks?
Appears The Major busy stuffing his face with ham, potatoes and barbequed turkey,
left this all to me:

CKXT (Toronto1)- Baretta show:
Okay, handgag yes, but appeared Joan Collins only faking hands behind to fool bad guys.
(Interested Hand gaggers like Kevin W, see you on Trades)

Thanksgiving Day Picks:

TLN at 5pm
"Soñar no cuesta nada" heating up- appears possible "sequestro" (sp?) developing.
May want to keep an eye on next bit until hear more from someone familiar with this soap in the United States.

TLN at 7pm
"Cento Vetrine"- That weird guy really starting to snap.
Melania Maccaferri B&G'd possibility. May want to keep an eye on as well.

Colour me partially deceived. She was actually an executive producer rather than the director. Though she didn't write the screenplay, I read at the time that the film was her project, and she had a lot of say in how it was made. She would certainly have wanted to be ungagged at the end of every shot, so as to discuss progress with the director - hence the many off-screen regaggings.
The on-screen job was indeed a lulu, very tight indeed!

In British TV at least, a producer has more of a hands-on role than in the cinema industry.

"Silent Hill" Movie?
Has anyone played the "Silent Hill" video game? I came across this news item at the Bloody Didgusting site (by way of Dark Horizons site) & the list of stars looks yummy! Anything "on topic" for this forum in the game? Here's the blurb (URL below):
-------
Easily one of the most anticipated horror films coming next year is Sony Pictures' Silent Hill adaptation, which stars Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Laurie Holden, Deborah Kara Unger, Kim Coates, Tanya Allen and Jodelle Ferland. The film was directed by the brilliant Christophe Gans and is looking at an April 21st, 2006 release. Inside we've scored a look at the first ever still from the film, read on and enjoy. "Silent Hill" is based on the hugely successful Konami game in which Rose (Mitchell) desperately searches for her lost daughter in the mysterious, terrifying town of Silent Hill, where they are trapped...

That would also explain Ms Principal's uncharacteristic (and, I thought, unflattering) short hair style in this movie, which most people would find remarkable only for the tie-up scene, whether they were specifically interested in such things or not. Untangling the tape from long hair several times a day would have wasted too much time.

I don't know about yelling "Cut!", but I love the idea of her mmmphing "It's a wrap!"

General Hospital alerts
Tomorrow Skye will be taken captive and at least have her hands tied behind her back.

Also, the following spoilers indicate the potential for a Kelly Monaco scene:
"Jason leaves Sam open to danger in Hawaii. With Manny released from the pen, he is now free to travel on over to Sam’s and terrorize her a little.
A DVD delivery forces Jason to watch as Sam is terrorized. Jason clutches his head in agony, and books the next flight to Hawaii to retrieve his woman."
