Wednesday November 02 01:00:58 2005 Penn and Teller on The View |
I beleatedly noticed that Penn and Teller were guests on the The View. Anyone notice if they demonstrated restraints on any of the panel members. Perhaps used Meredith as a lovely assistant? If anything good had happened, I suppose it would have been posted by now.

Wednesday November 02 01:58:59 2005 NCIS |
Female agent will be tied back to back in chairs with her male partner next week as shown in previews after they're exposed as a fake couple in a resort. No gags shown.
Also, Carla Gugino at least gets KO'd with a punch to the face and possibly an injection later in "Threshold" previews for FR=riday. She shown cut and bleeding, but no signs of ropes visible. |
Wednesday November 02 05:30:39 2005 Rent-A-Dick |
I've been correcting people for YEARS about this scene. There are SIX damsels (not three, four or even five). It's pretty obvious during the scene if you just count distinct faces from shot to shot.
Glad I'm finally vindicated by this posted still... |

Wednesday November 02 06:49:36 2005 New Asian Film Scene |
In the Sunday New York Times Arts & Leisure section, there is an article on "Asian Extreme" films, focusing on a new omnibus film entitled "Three...Extremes". The article highlights the third segment of the film, directed by Park Chanwook and titled "Cut",and describes it thus:
"...a bitterly resentful bit player (Lim Won-hee)has bound the director's wife to a grand piano with a web of razor-sharp wires. The indignant bit player threatens to pull a wire, and thereby sever one of the woman's fingers every few minutes until the director agrees to strangle the innocent teenage girl kidnapped for the occasion and left tied-up on the couch." There is a photo of the wife at the piano, shown from behind, with all the wires streaming across the room. No sign of the girl on the couch, however. This film is in, I believe, very limited release but certainly merits additional research and eyes-keeping-out. I'll pass on anything else I may learn. |

Wednesday November 02 07:30:27 2005 By any chance... |
...are there any New York City denizens here who'd care to take on a special mission for our benefit?
It just so happens that Steve Earle-yes, THAT Steve Earle, the country singer-songwriter-has penned a one act play titled "Karla" which is running off-Broadway. An actress named Jodie Markell plays the title character, whose full name ought to ring a bell-Karla Faye Tucker, the Texas pickax murderess who became the first woman executed by the Lone Star State since the Civil War. According to the review I've linked to below, the play starts with her execution, so any action of...well, relevance to us here would likely occur right then. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to let us know if this scene is handled in...well, the matter it would be if one of us had written it. Also, if you caught Jennifer Jason Leigh's take on Tucker's story in 2002's made-for-TV "Crossed Over," you could compare the scenes and comment on whether Markell at least looks more like Tucker, which is important since she's now got the inside track for the movie role. As always, should you or any member of your IM force be caught or killed, the Moderator will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This post will self-destruct in five seconds... |

Wednesday November 02 08:03:32 2005 Epitafios |
In the latest episode of "Epitafios", an HBO import from Argentina, detective Marina (Cecilia Roth) was captured by the psycho. He keeps her captive, chained to a wheelchair, for most of the episode. No gag yet but at the end of the episode he decided not to kill her so presumably she will still be captive in the next episode. He did chloroform her at one point while he had her chained up. One downside: the left side of her face is scraped up some from the struggle when she was captured.
The series plays on HBO Latino and will probably play again during the week. It is available thru HBO on demand which is how I viewed it. |

Thanks for the info! I think Carla is very hot, and I enjoy "punched out" KOs, so this sounds right up my alley! I could do without cuts and bruises, though... kinda spoils the enjoyment of the scene a bit. Any one else care to chime in? Do cuts/bruises ruin scenes for you? |

Wednesday November 02 12:21:44 2005 Panto Time Again |
Just a reminder to readers in the British Isles to look out for upcoming pantomimes containing tie-up scenes.
Full-on b&g scenes such as the one in the St Albans "Cinderella" a couple of years ago are quite rare, but many pantos contain milder scenes played for laughs. Sadly, my theatre's "Robin Hood" this year doesn't appear to have one. :-( |

There is a play running at the Pasadena Playhouse Balcony Theater in Pasadena, CA through Nov. 12 which includes an AOH tie, most likely shown onstage, of an attractive blonde.
The play sounds like a swashbuckling melodrama. A pic of the scene can be found at the theater company's website along with more info. http://www.furioustheatre.org |

I think her face was cut in 4 of her six gag scenes. The ones where she wasn't was the tape-gag in the dental chair and the stuff gag on the bed. A couple of small cuts don't ruin a scene for me, like Jennifer Garner's scene in "Alias" was fine despite a couple of cuts. However, Carla was cut and bleeding pretty bad in the promo. |

Possible kidnapping coming up featuring one of the blondes on "Young and the Restless." Don't recognize her, but possibly late 30s or early 40s? The guy who played Mitch Lawrence on "OTTL" is a phycho in this show too (yeah!) and he takes a blonde hostage, as shown in promos. Only showed him grabbing her, but her pals said "she's missing and her car is gone." No idea when this will play out.
Also on "GL", Edmund is stalking Cassie (Laura Wright) and keeps saying to himself "we'll be together soon, Cassie." Possible kidnapping there too. Both Edmund and Cassie are leaving the show within weeks, so likely both characters will die. Wright heads to "GL" to be the new Carly. |
Wednesday November 02 14:23:48 2005 Soaps |
That should have read Wright heads to "General Hospital" to be the new Carly starting within a few weeks. |

On a related thread - you might want to stay away from the film 'Cut' that was noted by a previous poster - actress has fingers amputated on camera ! gonna give kudos to MJ for his clip however - all of the gory stuff cut out and it works out as an excellent DiD scene. |

I've been thinking about this for awhile as well and I also don't like the trend in recent years of b&g damsels bloodied and bruised. As someone else said, minor cuts don't completely ruin the scene for me, but I could do without them. Some of the scenes nowadays just go too far overboard for my tastes though. I'm just old-school I suppose. I guess it's the price of trying to bring realism into TV and Movies. |

"Profiler" was as rough a show in concept as any of the ones on today, yet most of the damsel scenes were pretty clean and tame. Wish "Criminal Minds" and "Killer Instinct" would head in that direction instead of these graphic scenes and premises. |

Wednesday November 02 16:04:36 2005 Does anyone know the name of this film? |
Hi everyone,
There was this film in which a guy owed big money to the local mob boss. To pay off his debt, he decides to abduct the daughter of someone. He waits for her in her own house and jumps on the unsuspecting woman. He binds & gags her then wraps her up in blankets. He keeps her packaged like that on the backseat of his car ( she keeps moaning and squirming the whole time ). Then he takes her to his lair and keeps her tied to a chair. At the end, he ties her to a bathtub. She's rescued thanks to a bar of soap in which she inscribed an s.o.s. message. Does anyone remember this film? The abductor had asthma and the kidnapped girl spends the whole film dressed in her bra & panties. |

I like my KOs and bondage scenes to be more "fantasy-related" than the current crop of TV and movie producers care to produce. By the way -- this phenomenon extends to comic books as well! I remember when superheroines could get KOed in very physical ways, and then shown unconscious in bondage afterward with nary a scratch or bruise on their lovely faces/bodies! Nowadays, though, there is virtually always enough blood to spoil the scene! |

Now added to DB
HeartBeat: The End of the Road Sophie Ward Pretty blonde Ward plays a doctor in this 1960's based British drama series. In the above episode a visit to a remote farm house goes wrong when she is captured by an escaped convict. After a brief tussle we catch up with her as she is being dragged across the moors att night. Her hands are bound together in front of her and her captor is holding the end of the rope like a leash. He forces her to sleep rough overnight then resumes his 'escape' across the moors at first light dragging her behind him. She stumbles and falls a few times eventually losing her black slingback shoes. They wase across a river to evade the police but are cornered on a low tor. At one point she grabs a large stone in her bound hands (nice close up) but drops it. The police close in and the kidnapper jumps to his death. Ward is wearing a dark knee lenght coat, sweater, knee skirt, nylons and high heel slingback shoes |

Some mmmphing and nice facial expressions before she's untied. Scene occurs in the 2nd half of the episode. __________________________________ Wrote her an email asking about it and she replied: Hi Thanks for the e-mail. I had an awesome time on that show, the lead actor is not only very talented but very sweet as well. As for being gagged, no it wasn't all that fun but worth it for the project lol Crystal Lowe |

Blue Man wrote:
> Which was the better comic publisher for bondage scenes, > DC, Marvel, or Archie comics? My highly unscientific opinion is that, over the years, you'll get more from DC. Given that their classic characters have been around since the old days of serials and cliffhangers, there's a lot more ropes and such in their past. And even today, they seem more likely to go the full B&G route. Seems to me that Marvel gals get less of it, and when they do, they tend to more often find themselves in restraints like giant futuristic cuffs in the ceiling, or magic bands, or other forms of bondage that I don't find all that interesting. Though as I posted recently, the Black Widow has a full-scale chair tie coming up in a couple of months that looks like a doozy. The Archie gals, of course, are in a different league-- far fewer tieups, but when they get it, it's unexpected enough to be a bit special. Plus they always go for the traditional binding materials! |

> Which was the better comic publisher for bondage scenes, > DC, Marvel, or Archie comics? The answer, without any doubt, is DC Comics. The golden-age era Wonder Woman stories alone contain more bondage than the entire catalogue of Marvel Comics. Plus, DC has a couple of heroines with vocal powers, Black Canary and Zatanna, that just cry out (literally) to be gagged. Throw in Batgirl and Huntress, and the field from DC is quite deep. Plus, how about a little comparison between the girlfriends of the top hero of each company: Mary Jane Watson vs. Lois Lane. Mary Jane Watson: Sure, she's hot, but she spends too much of her time just minding her own business. Lois Lane: Snoopy reporter, ALWAYS sticking her nose into places where she gets captured, tied up, and in need of rescue. (I like snoopy reporters!) Lois bondage scenes outnumber Mary Jane bondage scenes by at least a 10 to 1 margin. And, as someone else said, Archie Comics doesn't even come close to the other two companies. The bondage for their gals was relatively rare (especially in comparison to the number of stories they appeared in), but when it did happen it was great! |
