Thursday December 01 00:11:30 2005 Offbeat questions... |
I know these are not exactly dead-on on topic, and if this has to be deleted I will certainly understand why. I just remembered a scene I saw from some adventure show in the Sixties. I thought it was Girl From Uncle but nothing in the DB or any epguide listing I've seen seems to match. It was a scene in which the bad guy is testing someone who is under restraint, to see what they are allergic to, in order to kill them. Sixties villains never just shot anyone much, you see. I can't remember enough to know what show this was, but thought someone here might.
Secondly... Around the same era, 1966 or thereabouts, a *lot* of shows put the good guys in peril with the old retracting floor gag--- somehow the villain got them over a tank of acid or piranha or whatever, and then arranged for them to be trapped there as the floor went away. I saw this gag on a "Girl from Uncle" ep a week or two ago, and was wondering what other shows had this... Not exactly bondage, but certainly always a form of helpless peril. And even at that age I recognized a theme... Although I think the first theme I ever noticed was all the shows back then that had people ducking each other in a long corridor filled with office doors. Everyone did that, I guess because it was cheap and filled time. They had to save money somehow to pay for all those expensive retracting floor sets! <G> |

Thursday December 01 01:28:22 2005 Tied and True Tales updated |
We’re reaching the pointy end of the year now, and Priscilla and your friendly webmaster both have heaps to celebrate with Melai successfully receiving permission to travel Down Under just in time for Christmas... as they say… YEHEEEYYYYYYYYYY! :-) Between running around preparing for her arrival like demented chooks, Priscilla and I somehow found time to bang out another update with 9 updated/new stories from the usual suspects (including Rohana and Brian Sands) and two articles discussing a straitjacket-style self-bondage and tips on caring for your precious vintage plastic rainwear.
As usual, click on the link to find out what’s new at http://www.tied-and-true-tales.com or navigate straight to our Updates page at: http://www.tied-and-true-tales.com/updates.htm |

Thursday December 01 02:11:35 2005 Into the Blue DVD |
Comes out on Monday, Dec. 26 (late Christmas present). There will be 10 deleted scenes on the DVD.
You'd have to think at least one will be of the tie-up scene. In one of the promo stills, Alba is shown hands behind but not gagged as Brolin holds the cell phone. I'd guess this will be a scene between the double cross at the pier and the time Walker calls the cell and Brolin answers with a B&G Alba. Perhaps some chit chat with the damsel before the gag scene and, maybe, on onscreen gagging or at least an order to the henchman to "gag her." |

---- But Brian's Page did place 9th in the Signy Awards' "Best Free Website" category, which is pretty darn good considering that the site owner did absolutely no "campaigning" -- not even mentioning to his site visitors when the voting was open. |

I wouldn't feel too bad - I was never actually sure about these awards anyway - as one poster recently noted, Major John's was never even recorded as having received a SINGLE vote - go figure THAT one out .... |

Sheila was discussing a plan to kidnap Lauren today. She displayed duct-tape and chloroform to Tom. Could happen in the next couple of weeks. Sheila has twice given the full treatment to Lauren over a decade back. |

Thursday December 01 15:57:40 2005 T'Pol in cuffs |
I just used a freeware called Autostitch to create an image of T'pol in the handcuffs she wore in the last Mirror universe episode. It was a panning shot upwards on her, the cuffs and her face never on screen at the same time. So I took some screenshots from a (bad quality) avi, rotated them to fool Autostitch into thinking it was a panorama, and a few seconds later, I had the image we should have seen in the first place! If anyone can provide me with high quality DVD snaps, Jpeg format, going about every other frame, I could do much better. And if anyone could do the same for the DS9 mirror episode in which Intendant Kira is shown in the brig lying down in that tight rubber suit, I'd Autostitch it as well! Autostitch did a seamless job and even compensated for the movement of Archer's brushing her hair back, the only real movement in the shot.
I'll be glad to share the image I have to the first person who has a way of sharing it here. I have no webspace. And of course, I intend to share any improved or other images, as well. And many thanks for answering so many of my questions here. |

Thursday December 01 18:17:59 2005 Que Buena Se Pusa Lola |
There was a pretty nice scene on this show today. After being chloroformed in broad daylight and taken away in a car, our damsel (played by Roxana Diaz), is next seen sitting in a chair, ankles bound, hands tied behind and blindfolded with strips of white cloth. Her captor is first shown sitting behind his desk, fondling a roll of gray duct tape. Before long, the blindfold is removed and after mouthing off, our Latina damsel is gagged with a strip of the tape. Very nice Mmmphing by Ms. Diaz in this one. Ultimately, after much dialog from her captor, she is untied and the gag removed.
Man I love sweeps!! P.S. Anybody who wants the chloro scene can get it from the ChloroForum at my web site, where I have posted the clip. |

The final scene has Tom sneaking into Lauren's apartment and pouring some chloroform into a rag. I'll update tomorrow after 5:30 EST to let everyone know what transpired. |

When she was untied from the tree by the baddies, her hands stayed behind her like they were bound. However, after gunfire erupted, she suddenly moved her hands out to her sides and took off running. Whether her hands were tied or not during the filming, they were never shown. She was not gagged at all during this second scene nor were her legs tied. |
Thursday December 01 22:12:17 2005 Re: T'Pol in cuffs |
Here are links to 3 pics. Two are larger and smaller versions of the T'pol pic I did today, the other is the best version of the aforementioned Intendant Kira pic I could do. I had trouble with this one in Autostitch as she was moving which prevented a perfect matchup-- so I did left and right versions of her and tried to hide the overlap in a very shadowy area. Best I could do with the crummy screensnaps I had. And thanks to Pofoz for putting these up for me! Still hoping for better DVD snaps of both of these, but for now they look at least somewhat OK.

The Georgie storyline is now officially over. The bad guy gave himself up today. Before that, she cut off the handcuffs, so no real good shots there either. |
