The two scenes of hers that Americans would be most likely to catch are in Jackie Chan's POLICE STORY II and III (AKA "SUPERCOP"). |

I know that there is a section for new movies, but I was just wondering if there were any movies that have come out lately with some nice cleave gags. |

Monday November 14 13:01:00 2005 'Taggart' from Friday |
Couple of nice scenes in Taggart.
Serial killer/copycat at large, and we first saw dark-haired Katrina (Jo Freer) bound on a cellar floor and gagged with grey tape, struggling and mmphing (unpleasant end natch). Short and darkly lit, but good close-ups. Later, attractive Asian girl Layla (Shabana Bakhsh) is kidnapped as she walks back to her hotel, grabbed, hand-gagged with leather glove and dragged into a van. At this point, we just hear her struggling and mmphing in the back of the van as she is obviously being subdued. Next time we see her, she's bound to a chair, and gagged snugly with the same grey tape, and mmphs nicely as the killer menaces her. She is shown at the end of the episode standing on a chair, hands bound behind, with a noose around her neck, this time ungagged. She is rescued by our heroes!! Very nice indeed. |

That story is from The Brave and the Bold #166 (Sep 1980.) BOTH stories were written by the same guy, Michael Fleisher! He has also written other stories with bound and gagged heroines including a Jonah Hex story with Emmylou, two Black Orchid stories (although not with Black Orchid herself), and another Spectre story with Gwen Sterling. The guy is definitely one of us. There was even an article about him in a Harmony (commercial bondage company) magazine years ago. There was no interview, just scans of the bound-and-gagged scenes from stories he has written. |

While Fleisher's stuff is tame by today's standards, his Spectre stories were very controversial among comics fans at the time for being too "dark" and "violent". His stuff left a mark on me as a kid not only for the fact that it had hot girls gagged and bound in it, but for the fact that the Spectre was a SCARY BASTARD who killed bad guys and loved doing it. Nowadays he's just another goofball in tights. Too bad. |

Thankfully, Black Canary is wearing lacy underthings rather than a more practical sports bra/briefs combo. Does she go out crime-fighting anticipating getting some action later? |

This story was rather risque and daring for its time, considering the fact that this comic was published in 1980; I recal seeing it on the newsstand as a freshman in high school. I actually bought it as a back issue, and was intrigued and pleasantly surprised that the Black Canary was bound and gagged in her underwear. I thought this a bit daring for a comic book marketed to children and adolescents, but my elation superseded any puritanical mores that might've been evoked by this scene. You're right when you state that a sportsbra and briefs combination would've made more practical undergarments, but you have to ask whether these apparel items existed back then. I think that sportsbras came into existence during the mid- to late 1980s and briefs, while they had been around for a long time, were worn primarily by dancers or female track athletes. |

The Black Canary was recently bound and gagged while wearing an athletic leotard. It appears that DC Comics has updated her apparel, and made it more realistic and better suited for the physically strenuous activity of crimefighting. She used to wear a black leotard with fishnet stockings and high-heeled shoes, which were very impractical for physical altercations. Perhaps this is why she was overpowered and bound and gagged so often. I certainly would like to see her wearing a sportsbra and briefs combination. I've seen her bound and gagged countless times in various DC Comics titles. Has anyone compiled a comprehensive list of the number of times she has been bound and gagged? Could the Black Canary be the comic book heroine who has been bound and gagged the most? |

Monday November 14 20:49:53 2005 LAW & ORDER: SUV TUESDAY |
Looks like a woman is kidnapped (handgag) and held on bed, may be killed. Main female SUV lead tries to be his next victim. Sounds good enough for me to record. |

I have such a list. As far as I know, she has been bound and gagged 14 times (with an additional "energy" gag scene with no bonds for a total of 15 gag scenes.) For years she had lost her "canary cry" (the main reason to gag her) but got it back a couple of years ago. The record for most bound and gagged scenes for a comic book damsel is probably either Lois Lane or Mary Batson (the powerless alter ego of Mary Marvel.) "Shaz-mmmph!" |

Monday November 14 22:01:30 2005 Prison Break |
Action starts about 15 minutes in, right when they come back from commercial. Robin Tunney shown tape-gagged in extreme closeup to start the scene as the camera widens. Her hands are tied behind with plastic strips.
The bad guy talks to her for a while, allowing multiple closeups and camera angles. Later, about 30 minutes in, she's shown burning the cable tie off with the furnace. After some more small talk when the bad guy comes back, she whacks him with a chair when he turns his back. In the last scene, more nice closeups and camera angles. Well done all around. |

Definitely a possibility, but with this show I wouldn't hold your breath. Here is the description of the episode--the more I read, the more it seems highly unlikely Mariska will get into any serious danger: When a series of rapes is linked to a speed-dating service, Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) goes undercover and discovers Mike Jergens (guest star Dean Cain) is the assailant. As the case progresses, Jergens' insecure girlfriend Cora Kennison (guest star Tina Holmes) - an alcoholic and bulimic - becomes an unwilling pawn as both Benson and attorney Minerva Grahame-Bishop (guest star Teri Garr) seek to persuade Kennison to testify for their respective sides - despite her mother's (guest star Veronica Cartwright) insistence that her daughter is too fragile. Kennison opts to marry Jergens in the hope that spousal privilege will save her from taking the stand, but since the rapes occurred before they married, she is still forced to testify. Distraught, Kennison drinks to excess, leaving her in an irreversible coma, and her fate in the hands of her husband. Christopher Meloni, Ice-T, Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, Diane Neal, Tamara Tunie and B.D. Wong also star. TV-14 |
