And to the mainstream tops of a tragic '05 I'd go with: TV: Easily the OLTL Cheerleader scenes Movie: A '04 release with an '05 DVD release, I'd go with Shallow Ground. Just my 2 cents. |

Absolutely correcto on both counts, Doug! A movie about B.P. without at least a little (oh hell, who am I trying to kid?)... ALOT of her, long-leather-gloved and satin-corsetted, in bondage, would be like New York City without Lady Liberty. (Who cares what the Manic Minority...er Moral Majorty thinks) And yes, I actually sat through another one of those movies last night, where the ruthless criminal mastermind, who could outwit the Police and anyone else who dared to interfere with his plan, wasn't quite smart enough to realise that a couple of pesky, ungagged women, with their hands tied (poorly) in front of them but otherwise unrestrained, can ruin your whole day... Thursday December 29 09:07:31 2005 The Producers |
Besides the new "Producers" movie being laugh out loud hiarious, there is a scene of sorts at the end. The boys have produced a new Broadway musical calld "Prisoners of Love". It features Uma Thurman (looking as good as she ever has) in a scanty costume which includes a ball and chain. She dances with it wrapped around her and is joined by a chorus line of similarily equipped cuties. It's minimal, I know, but it makes up somewhat for the "Avengers". Plus, as I said before, the movie is very funny. |

Thursday December 29 09:55:12 2005 New York Stage Update |
These are shows currently running on the New York stage:
Off Broadway Dog Sees God;Confessions Of A Teenage Blockhead - Eliza Dushku in loose hand cuffs with long chain between wrists in front. She looks great. Broadway Woman In White - They start to tie an actress hands behind and gag her with a cleave gag but decide to drug her. You don't see much as it is good idea with not much substance. Unfortunately the best scene, which is in Sweeney Todd, is of a man cleave gagged and straight jacketed at the beginning of the play and then again at the end. What a waste and if only that were for Eliza Dushku in her play. |

DVD seems to be coming out 25 January on the French Amazon site (see link). This film was discussed on here a while back (literature professor kidnaps one of his attractive students so he can claim the credit for her book. She is bound and tape gagged as I recall).
Doubtless this will be Region 2 (Europe) dvd, but will play nicley for all those of you with multi-region players. |

Looks like a very cool scene with some extended tie-ups. Hopefully, this movie was popular enough in Europe to where it might air on a cable channel here in the U.S. I've mostly given up purchasing DVDs just to get scenes, but might have to make an exception for this one. |

Yeah I'm surprised that cheerleader cap isn't more talked about on this forum, though I have yet to see the great closer cap that everyone talks about. But that OLTL scene was great and long. I liked afterward when the girl that played Evangelina told her mother in the hospital (who I think was the first fresh prince mom yeah yeah) that the bondage was to tight. Wow what a scene. |

In the discription for DEVIL'S PREY, it says"
---A few minutes later, Fawn (Elena Lyons -- Jennifer's sister, I wonder?), the villianess of the piece, gets herself tightly cleave gagged during a sex romp with the villian. The cleave-gagged sex scenes are intercut with the cleave-gagged sacrifice scenes, for an interesting effect. --- I checked on the IMDB and it doesn't mention anything about these two being sisters. Not really a big point, just thought I would mention it for clarification!! Either way, both look very cute. I can't wait to see their scenes. |

On the DVD, if you click on director's commentary and play the movie, the director makes comments throughout the film. At the B&G scene, he says "I think Jessica was pretty comfortable with the duct tape on her mouth. She had to spend large parts of the final scenes either bound.....or gagged." Nothing from Miss Alba on the scenes. |

Bear in mind, that Bettie (or someone) has been marketing her image pretty heavily over the past few years (lunchboxes, cigarette lighters, greeting cards, action figures, etc.), always emphasizing the cheesecake aspect, with bondage virtually nonexistent. I agree it presents a skewed perspective on her modeling, but I'm not getting my hopes up that the movie will be any better. |

I first just used to zoom the movie to full screen, then I realized that I could use it to zoom shots of gagged damsels even larger, and all without any loss of video quality. ---- I suppose the Zoom functionality could also be used to alleviate the dreaded "Putz interference", which seems to be one of the DiD scene litmus tests for some Brian's Pagers. |

Thursday December 29 18:45:43 2005 Zatanna gagged |
Fans of the fishnetted wonder may wish to check out the new Catwoman issue #50, as Zatanna gets tape-gagged, for the purpose of preventing her uttering any magical spells (you'd be surprised how few of her opponents figure that out).
The good news: it's shown in several panels. The bad news: she's not tied. Catwoman pulls her off balance with a whip to the wrist, and Zatanna is then, presumably, too busy not getting splatted on the ground to remove the tape. No, it didn't make much sense to me when I glanced through it in the shop, but I had too many other books to pick up today to add it to the pile. I'll take a closer look next time, but she's definitely not tied. And for those who had hopes, anti-alert for issue #3 of All Star Batman and Robin. While Black Canary flashes plenty of crotch while pummeling bad guys, there is nothing even resembling restraint (in any sense of the word). |

Thursday December 29 19:00:14 2005 Re: Zatanna gagged |
Thanks for the heads up. Zatanna's my favorite comic dame, since I was a little twerp. I don't think we'll ever see a Zatanna scene that tops that brilliant team-up she did with Batman, where she's captured by mobsters. That, in my opinion, is the epitome of comic DiD.

I have the feeling you're thinking of Black Canary-- gagged, and tied to a chair in her undies? I can't recall any Zatanna scenes that were particularly remarkable, so if there is one I've missed, please point me towards it! |

It features her from the 70s in that slinky black spandex catsuit and spawn-esque red cape. She had two scenes in this garb (one of which is posted on Grimbor's most excellent DC heroines website). The scene I speak of used to be available on the Doppleganger's site, though it's been down for a long time now. When I'm back in Toronto with my computer, I can dig up some scans for you. |

Thursday December 29 19:43:10 2005 DC Comics Superheroes U.S. 2006 stamps pane |
Note on page 16 of the U.S. Postal Service press release that for 2006 a pane of 20 stamps will honor DC Comics Superheroes. Ten stamps will show portraits of characters, the other 10 will show covers of their individual comic books.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Wonder Woman #22 (November 1988 by George Perez) or The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl #1 (Nov 1982 by Rich Buckler & Dick Giordano) will feature one of their DiD scenes. |

Before we get all wrapped around the glass-half-empty axle, there *is* an actor in "Notorious Bettie..." credited with the role of John Willie, one Jared Harris. I suggest a round of chill-pills until someone actually *sees* the movie & makes a report. |

I just mean that, for those of us that awakened to Page in the '70s, she was, and to some extent still is, the prototypical fetish model. She was so vibrant, new, intelligent, wicked, demure, and positive. She made us all feel that this was more than just a fetish, it was art. But the bondage portion of her modeling was just as important, if not more so, than anything else she did. I fear that the powers will hate to admit that to an audience that is not made up predominantly of "fans." |
