Only one, Naomi Watts in King Kong, and that's assuming the academy will give another nod to Peter Jackson after his stunning classic, The Lord of the Rings trilogy. |
Friday January 13 01:06:36 2006 "Hustle" on AMC? |
Any our BBC friends aware of the Robert Vaughn series "Hustle." This will start airing Saturday nights at 10 p.m. in the U.S.
Story mentions 3 seasons but I haven't seen mention of it until now. Some hot females in the cast. |

Don't get excited.
Brilliant as the show is the two seasons which have aired in the UK so far have not had a scene between them. Season 3 begins airing in the UK in the next month or so but I don't think anything will come of it. As I said though. Definitley worth watching just as a quality bit of TV. |

TCM will be running a smorgasbord of movies that won Oscars in many categories, mostly the big ones (Best Picture, Director, and lead or supporting dramatic roles). If what you're really asking is if there'll be an actress bound in an Oscar-winning performance, you should only expect one-Susan Hayward in "I Want to Live!" (Best Actress, 1958). The two other movies in which actresses achieved this feat-"Girl, Interrupted" (Angelina Jolie, 1999 Best Supporting Actress), and "Monster" (Charlize Theron, 2003 Best Supporting Actress) are (ahem, ahem) a bit too recent for TCM to have picked up yet. And since someone else will bring it up if I don't, I'll mention it: Ingrid Bergman won Best Supporting Actress in 1974 for "Murder on the Orient Express" playing a character who appeared very briefly roped to an overturned chair. It's very unlikely, however, that Bergman herself filmed the scene, which is why I don't count her among those above. |

Friday January 13 07:53:12 2006 Terror Among Us - 25th Anniversary |
This coming Monday, January 16, 2006, is the 25th anniversary of the CBS premiere of "Terror Among Us." Thanks to Sarah Purcell, Patricia Klous, Tracy Reed and Kim Lankford for their unforgettable roles.
If they would only sell this movie in a DVD box set with remembrances from the actresses as well as outtakes. What do you think these actresses thought about their participation in this DiD-athon? Would anyone want to share their remembrances too? Thanks! |

Love Stinks: I believe that there was a tape gag scene at the end of the movie. Her ex-husband is trying to get her back, or kill her. Kind of a crazy romantic comedy. |

Kind of a crazy romantic comedy. There was no tape gag scene, but there was a chloro scene in the latter half of the film. |

Record number: 2606 Title: Mortal Kombat (1995) Medium: Movie Actress: Bridgette Wilson Description: Sonya Blade (Wilson) is chained, with arms outstretched, to the dungeon walls. Darkly lit scene, with heroine easily reskued from her manakles. Wilson is kute, but even she kan't overkome a silly plot based on a video game. Record number: 4656 Title: Love Stinks (1999) Medium: Movie Actress: Bridgette Wilson Description: After playing head games with her would-be husband through the entire movie the guy comes up with a plan to end the fights. Sneaking into her house while she's asleep he chloroforms her. She partially wakes up and moans softly. |

You do realize that there was about 100 minutes of non-DiD related scenes in the movie, and only about 5 minutes of DiD footage? Have you ever seen the movie in it's entirety, or only the DiD scenes? It's a formulaic and extremely dull movie, standard TV movie crud. |

Friday January 13 19:21:44 2006 Loretta Switt got it a long time ago. . .well, kinda |
Hello All and Happy New Year,
Recently Comcast has been running a commercial about what a great choice they are yada yada. . .and they use some actual footage from an old episode of the $20,000 Pyramid. Those old enough to remember it was a game show in the 1970's consisting of 2 people to a team one giving clues to get them to guess a word as the clock ticked down. Anyway, during the real show when the winning team made it to the "final pyramid" the pair sat in chairs facing eachother, one reading the screen the other with their back to it trying to guess the answer. In order to avoid the temptation to use their hands when describing the object, there were cloth loops about 4 or five inches thick attached to the arms of the chair where the team member sometimes would slide their hands in. Easily escapable of course, but mild form of bondage none-the-less. Loretta uses them. It's discreet, but if you watch the commercial closely you can see how her hands really are restrained in them, as it becomes noticable when they're slipped out at the end as she gets up to hug the guy. The video footage is real but the questions are dubbed in to fit the commercial, all pertaining to Comcast hi-speed internet. I remember other women (there usually were celebs competing) who used the "comfy straps" and in the back of my head, I vaguely remember the host sometimes motion to them as an option so the player would not be disqualified if they were tempted to use their hands (like in charades) to overly describe an object. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that in as a blast from the past. All the best to all of you this and every year and especially to The Moderator, our generous and saintly patient friend who enables us to be here. All Things Good, |

He was surprisingly good in several roles as a world weary cop in the Dirty Harry mode. But, overall I agree with Anubis, TAU was at best a mediocre 'fill the time slot' effort. AAYMMV |

Just downloaded the Iron Sister from Major Johns site.
