Tuesday February 07 08:00:16 2006 Soo.... It's been kinda dead here lately |
So to liven things up here (hopefully), I'm announcing the rebirth of my image caps site - which was made possible by the generous gift of hosting from wavy, the International Arts Council, the J.B. Walker Firewater Charitable Trust, the Niquil Center for Sleep Disorders and Viewers Like You!
No vids there, but quite a few image caps and I ga-run-tee you that each set of caps are the highest resolution caps out there - most are quite suitable for use as wallpapers, regardless of what resolution you run at (does anyone here run higher than 2048x1536?) Just a warning though - some pics are really huge, so if you're on dialup, they might load a bit slowly for you. And if you don't want to "right click & save as" 350 or so times, email me and I'll send you a .rar or something (and we can save wavy some bandwidth). Oh, and yes, one more thing - I got a great copy of Threshold 1x04 that I will be making caps from shortly. Apparantly some folks really liked it or something ;) Here's a sample frame to keep y'all satiated. |

Tuesday February 07 08:09:31 2006 Brit soap "Emmerdale" |
Several years ago I remember very clearly the wife of one of the characters in this soap being kidnapped for several episodes by a man with a grudge to bear against her husband. In one episode she was tied up, hands behind, in the back of a van, and in other episodes she was kept tied up and gagged in a barn with thick ropes wrapped around her upper body, hands behind. I think there was an on screen tying in one of the barn related episodes. The actresses name was Madeleine Howard. I have seen a pic of the barn scene but just can't seem to be able to track it down although it must be out there somewhere. |

Unknown #1
Record number: 1237 Title: JAG Medium: TV Series Actress: Susan Haskell Description: Episode: "Wilderness of Mirrors." (4.21) Rabb thinks he is seeing the ghost of his dead father, but it turns out it is his archenemy who has been stalking him. The baddie grabs his own shrink, who just happens to be Harm's girlfriend, in her home, chloroforming her. This occurs around the 50' mark. She is later shown bound, wrists behind, ankles tied, to a chair, blindfolded with black cloth, and gagged with packing held in by white cloth. He then places a mylar sheet in front of her to act as a mirror, and sits off to the side, trying to get Harm to shoot her instead of him. Harm walks in and sees his antagonist's reflection in the mirror, and draws his pistol. The guy torments Harm for awhile, flashing a flashbulb in his eyes every so often. Meanwhile, Ms. Haskell's character uses her bound feet to move the mylar paper just as Harm gets ready to pull the trigger, causing him to aim to the side, thereby shooting the bad guy instead. Harm then frees her, and they embrace. Unknown #2 Record number: 756 Title: Deadly Past (1994) Medium: Movie Actress: DeDee Pfeiffer Description: DeDee is kidnapped by a thug who keeps her tied up in a hammock-style suspension. Her arms are tied over her head. Later she's gagged with black tape. She manages to free herself but is caught and retied as before. Later in the movie she's shown emerging from a car trunk still B&G. Unknown #4 Record number: 1137 Title: Memory Run (1996) aka Synapse Medium: Movie Actress: Karen Duffy Description: About a half-hour into the movie, Karen is in some sort of mental institution where scientists have done something to her brain. She goes beserk and is grabbed and restrained in a chair with straps. She is also gagged with white tape. The doctor then proceeds to place a device on her head and it drills into the head of her head to settle her down. She mmmmmmmphed very very nicely and loudy througout this whole procedure. Unknown #9 Record number: 4890 Title: Night Man aka Nightman Medium: TV Series Actress: Michelle Clunie Description: Episode: "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" (1.3) In the opening sequence, Ms. Clunie's character is working in a computer lab or some such when black-garbed baddies enter through a vent in the ceiling and grab and handgag her after she gives a couple of 'em a bop on the beezer. She's next seen with her wrists bound to the arms of a chair (presumably, from the position of her arms, as there are no clear shots to confirm), cleavegagged with white cloth, and blindfolded with a black mask. Ex-cop Frank (Earl Holliman), leaving the building after visiting with her, hears the commotion and returns, but one of the perps conks him from behind before he can effect a rescue. The last shot is a closeup of her as the leader asks for "the code". She's next seen talking to a detective. The sequence lasts about 75 seconds, with a couple more closeups. Ms. Clunie wears a scoop-neck knit top under a white lab coat. There's no good shot of the rest of her clothing, at least during the sequence, so I can't say whether she's wearing pants or a skirt. Hope this helps!!! |

It was about 1990 if memory serves, I taped the episodes at the time though i've no idea where they are now. Maybe one day when time permits i'll sort through my tapes and see if it's still playable. Don't recall a gag, though i could be mistaken. I do remember this was around the time Saturday newspapers first started printing weekly TV Supplements and the Daily Mirror had an interview with Howard where she talked about what it was like to film the episodes - some good photoes there too. |

Hopefully, Sci-Fi will also show the episodes that weren't aired and there will be something of interest for us. Sci-Fi aired all 14 episodes of "Firefly" after FOX cancelled it after only 11 of them. Even if there is nothing of interest to us, I thought the show was interesting. |

I'll try matching the dBase to the SciFi schedule & will post VCR Alerts (if they aren't already posted). |
