Tuesday March 28 00:26:59 2006 I admit this is a very tough one...but I'd appreciate any help possible |
Sorry to be so vague on this, but it's all I remember...Saw this about six years ago briefly on a PBS station, so it's something like Mystery or some other non-commercial production: what I remember is, either a man is brought into a dungeon-like downstairs by a group of baddies and finds a woman already chained to a wall or a woman is brought in and finds a man. Whoever it is, they are then tied or chained on the floor, hands behind, feet together. The baddies, whom I recall being led by a matronly woman, then go upstairs and I believe dine. Cut downstairs and the bound man and woman talk and try desperately to get out of their bonds, with whoever's on the floor doing some impressive struggling. Cut back up stairs to the well-to-do folks eating, apparently unconcerned of any escape attempts or screaming.
A few details may be wrong, but that's the general gist. Can anyone tell me what I saw? Many thanks. |

Tuesday March 28 00:41:36 2006 my response to Eric's concern. |
>> Eric wrote: Isn't this an off-topic discussion of a commercial bondage site?
> The Moderator wrote: There is a substantial free portion of allied (story) stuff. Such announcements are allowed. In response to Eric's concern, Tied and True Tales is in no way commercial. TTT is 100% free - this includes images, art, stories, articles, humour and so on. Anyone is welcome to contribute stories, pictures or art etcetera. I run Tied and True Tales as a hobby because it's something that I really enjoy doing. I've also made some wonderful, lasting friendships, both cyber and 'real' (in person) over the years, and to me, that's one of the best things about running TTT! Having said that, I would also like to say a very big "thank you!" to Brian for graciously allowing webmasters like myself to announce updates on his forum; I really appreciate it and I'm sure that others here would reciprocate my sentiments. |

I posted a number of alerts to the VCR alerts page this morning. After I'd done a few, I noticed that the TiVo web site wasn't always getting the times right. So any alerts that you see from me for the next week or so, double-check the time before you set your VCR/DVR. |

How does your site (and other similar sites posting update notes) relate to DiDs in mainstream media? What raised Eric's question was the fact that your update referred to what appeared to be commercial images. And frankly, I thought yesterday's Ask Amy thread had more relevant DiD content, and that was moved to the Bulletin Board. Maybe such site updates should be moved there as well. |

Everybody remember that this is Brian's site.
If he decides to allow off topic posts about an off topic site (TTT) and delete on topic posts about a on topic site (BIEL), we just have to grit our teeth and remember all the time and effort he expends in providing this GREAT place. Hang in there Brian. |

Announcing ones website updates, as far as I can rememeber, has ALWAYS been allowed. |

Also, just about 99.9% of the posts related to the BEIL site are "Does anyone know why the BEIL site hasn't updated and when they will update again?" which was also off topic. If you guys seem to know so much about what is and isn't on topic, why not start your own discussion board and see how tolerant people are everytime THEY disagree with YOUR long standing policies? |

I usually don't respond to 'ananymous' posts. A little while back I posted that the BIEL 'Trussed Thespians' section had been updated with new photos. It was ruled off topic because, well because. A short time later Mason posted one of his off topic ramblings about his love life and what a wonderful site he has. Nice to know that pics of stage play (BIEL Trussed Thespians)DIDs are off topic for this site, but pics of rianwear and Japanese commercial bondage pics are on topic. But agaim, this is Brian's site, and if he makes a ruling thats contradicts his own mission statement, its grin and bear it. and most importantly be greateful that Brian continues to put up with assholes like me and keep the site going. |

LV, I do understand your concerns and I concede that my site does not relate to DID's in mainstream media. In that strict sense, my posts are "off-topic". However, as I have already pointed out, I have always intended that TTT should be for the enjoyment of the wider bondage community (as do other webmasters who give up their time to provide free content for everyone to enjoy). Among other things, I also provide a large collection of free links including a whole section pointing back to D.I.D sites like Brian's Page, thus helping people with similar interests to yours find his, and other related pages. In return, Brian allows me to post updates here and I receive traffic in return. It works both ways! :-) In the past, I have also provided free DID imagery in my galleries as well - but the bottom line is that I try to provide as great a variety of content as possible for everyone to enjoy. I sincerely hope this helps clear up any confusion or aggro. |

Those who missed my late post last night missed Manuela Imaz's short but sweet black tape gag scene this morning, but not to worry the whole scene, such as it is, will be reshown in the show's recap scenes of the last few minutes of the previous episode. If you tape it live start taping when the girl in prison scene is shown for the tight close-up of her gagged face is the first shot when the scene switches. |

The on-topic portions of the BIEL site are acceptable, and I would certainly allow update announcements. What I don't allow are discussions about why BIEL isn't working or about off-topic portions. Notice, DISCUSSIONS. I would not allow any discussions of the off-topic portions of TTT either. It's not really all that complicated. |

PROBLEMS with other sites has been explicitly off-topic for, oh, about five years. I did not delete what you claim that I did. |

Mason, thanks for taking the time to respond to my comment. Your site has been enjoyed by a wider bondage community, myself included (and thanks for that). I just don't feel update announcements fit the Discussion Page purpose, which is stated basically as discussions of scenes in mainstream media. Many non-discussion posts are moved to other forums; most notably of late, cap requests to the Trade Page. To me site update announcements are of a similar nature, and it would seem logical for them to be moved to the Bulletin Board. (People usually do post announcements on them, right?) Particularly, right now, the BB is quite underutilized, and moving such items there would encourage greater use of it, as did the cap request with the Trade Page (and one could not argue that is not pure DiD content). Also, then, update announcements would at least stand out clearer and longer over there and have greater utility to you and other site owners who post such. In conclusion, you used the word confusion. I think a lot of confusion is created by what at times seem to be rather arbitrary topical rulings by the mod. What brought up today's discussion were two such rulings, which while consistently following Mod's rulings on previous postings on these topics, still seem inconsistent to the overall page definition. |

I never posted a complaint about BIEL, just an honest description of how the the non-gallerie pics are presented, so there wouldn't be a bunch of complainants regarding my post. But at least we now know why Mason is allowed to post about his self admitted off topic site. Fair Winds and Following Seas To You and All Yours Brian. |
